Macusa69 Posted July 10, 2020 Share Posted July 10, 2020 I remember when I was one of the few lucky people who got selected to try the old 1.3 beta. but, unfortunately, this time I wasn't so lucky, even though I have both the R1 and the XR500. Anyways, I think it's a matter of weeks and everybody will get their hand on the new os 3.0. please, bump me up the queue to try the new os. I would have liked to try it out also like others that keep asking but hey i can wait until they either put me into the beta cue for next up or when the working finished version comes out. Expand Oh I understand of course nobody knows they are first but you guys also said you're sending these beta codes out on waves not one at a time, safe to say there won't be that many people with an xr500 who have registered on Netgear forums and taken the time to notice a beta 3.0 announcement and gone through the beta sign up, so this first wave of beta users must be tiny! I haven't seen anyone on forums around the web say they have got the xr500 beta just seen a couple say they have the r1 beta. Don't tell me that many people signed up on the day the sign up went live and had there xr500 serial number ready and we're all signed up on the Netgear site, I like some on here will have been pretty quick on it. Hopefully you guys get it out to people who are requesting it asap seen as we are more likely to be the ones who use all the features and abilities of these routers, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had this router since it came out (£250) and have waited some considerable time for a meaningful update. We have put your name forward as well as everyone else here to get it asap. Netgear are sending the invites so you just need to wait for it. Expand If you had to guess how long before a non beta complete version is finished? are the testers finding many issues in the beta that stops you guys from making a finalized version? Expand It's really hard to say because I'm not a developer so anything I say about dev timelines etc should be taken with a pinch of salt. Depending on the severity or difficulty of a bug, finding out the cause can take a significant amount of time, plus then actually writing a fix. I think probably what will happen is that we just roll into an open beta - technically the DumaOS on the R1 available now is still in beta. Expand We learnt a long time ago not to make any deadlines because with development they're always subject to change. Even launching the beta the internal date changed a few times so we're not going to give a date now. As long as it takes essentially to make it as stable as possible.
