Administrators Popular Post Netduma Alex Posted January 31 Administrators Popular Post Share Posted January 31 Hi everyone, We have a brand new R3 firmware for you. It includes many important fixes based on the feedback we received since the launch, including addressing issues with Steady Ping and Geo-Filter 2.0 to make them more reliable. The full change log is provided at the bottom of this thread. Over the next few days, you will be able to upgrade automatically by clicking on the 'Update Available' option in your user interface (both mobile and desktop). However, if you prefer, you can manually upgrade your R3 now using a PC or laptop by following these steps: Download the attached upgrade file. Reboot your R3 - this is a one-off as this new firmware contains improvements to make manual upgrading smoother in the future. Go to the Netduma R3 user interface on your PC/laptop. Navigate to >Settings >Troubleshooting and then click Upload Firmware. Choose the file and then upload it. You'll need to wait a few minutes for the upload to complete.. If you upgraded to version 4.0.40 last week, we recommend upgrading to this new 4.0.41 as soon as possible. The previous firmware had a niche packet reordering bug affecting login issues for games like Fortnite. It also made Geo-Filter 2.0 less reliable. These issues are now fixed in the latest release. R3-4.0.41.sig What's Next? Good news: Hybrid VPN development is complete for the R3 and is now in testing. We've redesigned the frontend for Hybrid-VPN to make it easier and clearer compared to DumaOS 3. We're excited for you to try it out! In the next few days, we'll be moving it to closed beta testing, and if all goes well, we should have it with you very soon along with fixes to make Ping Optimiser run more reliably and improved IPv6 support. Please continue to provide us with your feedback so we can keep making your R3 experience better and better. Changelog: Changelog Changelog for this version: Improvements to Steady Ping Improvements to Geo-Latency Improvements to stability of upgrade tool, especially manual upgrade Improvements to performance during high bandwidth usage Fixed a bug when disabling multiple devices in Adblocker Fixed packet reordering issues in 4.0.40 that affected logging in for some games Added ability to select individual server in Ping Heatmap when servers are grouped together Improved reliability of Speed Test Reduced CPU usage of certain services that were causing ping spikes for some users Various frontend styling fixes Alternative download link. Thank you for using the Netduma R3. darth_revan45, Killerelite06, Dean.L and 26 others 17 5 1
euphidra
@Netduma Alex Thanks Alex. I'm waiting for the VPN. As soon as it's ready, could you send me the firmware. Every time the router is restarted (even with this firmware 4.0.41) the smartphone's wifi is connected but after a while it is connected without internet (the smartphone still navigates but the wifi icon has an exclamation mark). I attach photos. This problem has been happening since Samsung updated Galaxy S21FE to Android 14 ONE UI 6. Same thing happens with Galaxy S24 ULTRA. Stilts29
@Netduma Alex do you recommend a factory reset after upgrading from .40?
Fuzy
It is not necessary, although it is always preferable to start with a blank base when changing a FW Alex49H and Stilts29
Popular Post euphidra
I no reset. I just did a reboot after update 4.0.41. And everything works fine. There should be a backup in this router to save the devices settings so you can reset and restore the router settings. simjc, L0rd, Dean.L and 2 others

DARKNESS
@euphidraThat's a software issue with your phone provider there nothing they can do about it pal also why you writing in large format for? Here an article related to it might fix your issue if you read the forum https://forums.att.com/conversations/samsung/s23-ultra-has-no-wifi-after-update-to-android-14/6558c17ae0de7c15a9ec0063 euphidra
euphidra
@DARKNESS Okay. It must be a Samsung bug. Because I'm still connected even if it says connected without internet after a while when I restart the router. I copy and paste with Google Translate and it highlights blue. crunkjuice1 and zuhloobie
DARKNESS
@euphidraThe best advice I could give you as it a bug on that specific firmware is to downgrade till it is fixed by your phone provider of course you need to have an unlocked phone to downgrade versions. euphidra
euphidra
@DARKNESS It is the first firmware on S24 ULTRA. crunkjuice1, Killhippie and Newfie

We have not specifically changed anything about how Ping Assist works in this firmware version. However, there are many improvements to general Geo-Filter functionality, and this increased reliability should make Ping Assist function better as well. Please let us know how you get on with Ping Assist in this firmware. If there's any specific issues still present, we'll fix them. 44 minutes ago, euphidra said: I no reset. Agreed, a backup feature would be really useful. I'll make sure it's on the roadmap. 1 hour ago, Stilts29 said: @Netduma Alex do you recommend a factory reset after upgrading from .40? As @Fuzy said, it isn't nessercary. If you encounter any issues, you should factory reset. Preferably let us know about the issues first though so that we can fix them! euphidra and Stilts29
DARKNESS
@euphidraI know that's why I am saying to downgrade versions and that should fix the problem and wait till your provider addresses the WiFi bug and then once's it is you can upgrade back to the latest OS. sharpz44
Is it possible for the wifi to be made better with firmware or is this a hardware limatation , I was going to try my XR700 antenna on it to see if that would increase the range. Disrek

This may be due to the fact that the network connection is private. If it's like for IOS, you must deactivate the protection in the Wifi settings on your local wifi (R3)! You can format automatically after pasting your text by clicking on: "Although it doesn't bother me." Thank you in any case for taking the time to translate from your native language! euphidra

UK_Wildcats_Fans
Setup: firmware 4.0.21, Steady Ping ENABLED, Geo Latency ENABLED, Ping Assist 0-35ms, Strict Mode ENABLED, Fast Search DISABLED. Geo-filter around the state of California. In prior DumaOS versions, I would see the steady ping jump to 166mS. Normally, my COD MW3 multiplayer game screen would show "searching for a match <33ms ping" and would then jump to "searching for a match <200ms ping" without any incremental steps in between. With the current 4.0.21 firmware, I have the geo-filter map zoomed out. In this version, I noticed that I am getting a rare and random jump from "<33ms" to "<200ms". I was watching my gaming monitor and laptop and noticed that the geo-filter showed a blip on a rejected server in the UK (authentication server?). The game screen immediately jumped to "<200ms". When I see this, I always back out and restart the game search. There seems to still be an interaction between COD MW3 and the authentication server. UPDATE EDIT: I had it jump to <200ms and then the game threw me into a Chicago lobby which has a ~60ms ping.

cedric108
Thank you very much. I like being able to receive new firmwares regularly. The update process this time is much more smoother than previous firmwares. I am going to do some in-game tests. By the way, the issue where local wireless devices connected to the same Wi-Fi frequency (5GHz / 2.4GHz) can't communicate with each other has still not been fixed. Is this bug going to be fixed soon? Thanks. TrayDay
Dean.L
.41 results seems inconsistent and the jitter is higher then in .40.20 fw any idear why ?? waveform_com_bufferbloat_test_results_99e4f5cc-f483-4b4b-92c7-3ae92a7204ae.csv waveform_com_bufferbloat_test_results_207f877b-fe34-42be-a434-48369ac3b7f8.csv waveform_com_bufferbloat_test_results_14566fe4-1d8c-4d6d-bd0c-e255ef08e003.csv waveform_com_bufferbloat_test_results_59121be5-33dd-4ed2-83aa-46e7c63ec3f2.csv waveform_com_bufferbloat_test_results_ec2e1030-f6e8-4606-a8ce-e3047350c7f0.csv
TrayDay
I wanted to test how Wi-Fi gaming is with this firmware. I want to say, if you have "Video and Streaming" in your SmartQOS, it will give packet loss and jitter on your Wi-Fi gaming. Upon removing, no more packet loss and stable gaming, on Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi near server, Wired further server. Both stable with steady ping. WIFI WIRED Local Network is not able to communicate with each on Wi-Fi.
