Yes just tested it step by step but my game ran like ass. I didn't get to try the advanced option, by default if you don't select advanced it gets set to gaming/voice, not "normal (default)" like it mentions in the advanced option

I'll try the other options tomorrow

Same! Anything below MTU 1400 is a bingo for me, the games just won’t load

Apparently Xbox needs a minimum of 1380 MTU (or a similar figure) so it may be the same for PS.

Yeah, we tested changing MTU for many years now but honestly it may be placebo for some. Never really helped me.

I changed my MTU to 750 on XR1000. To my surprise it run very well. Playing MW2 on PS5 (did not touch PS5 settings).

I lowered it before (not as much though), I can definitely say it helps in my case.

What does lowering MTU to 750 do in gaming? and will it affect other devices connected in the house when not gaming?

Ive never heard any onr e recomend 750 before

The lowets i  ever tried in the past was  1320 around

 This was a few years ago

From my experience  with trying  diffrent mtu values

It only seems to work correctly if you  do it on one ot the devices  when i tried a few years ago

I will be testing  this out later today on ps5

I just discover  some new ports that cod mw2 are using 

 And it using alot of data from my testing it actualky looks like its the  main port from my testing

It using 5 in these ranges so far inbetween these ranges0000 to 65000  destination 80  to 80 tcp

Ive set my rule up like this so fsar this how i would set it up

 

 Rule 1Source 1 to 65535 detination 80 to 80 tcp only

rule 2  ource 3074 to 3074 destination 35000 to 50000 udp only

These are the ports that are the mainly used i

m shocked  the game is now using tcp 80

I tried a few different values back on IW and MW19 and only found that messing with that made the game so much worse.

Where did you input those rules for sources? In the port forwarding? Im willing to try it out and see.

Yeah it has a placebo effect. Maybe a game or two it plays ok but the rest were bad and connection was worse.

My settings is what works best for me they might not work best for you you need to try them then play with the values to you dial in your connection for your setup, MTU at 750 helps me get a better connection to the game im on a 1gb connection

here are all my settings

My settings are also dedicated to the game and give a bad internet experience to other devices why i have spectrum and frontier, one internet for just my gaming and the other provider for the whole family

when i play multiplayer i change my sliders to 20mb down and 5mb up when i play warzone i set it to 70% and 70%

I have Wi-Fi completely turned off and i have upnp off

Set your geo filter over Italy, use the poly selection to select around italy and ping assist to 0.

I get a ping of 50ish and the game plays perfect, you will get some games that you cant explain WTF just happened moment, but that is just COD. (it will take a little longer to find games).

This could effect your bandwidth control by the way.

If you are not using qos then it's fine but prior port 80 will bypass any qos for that device.

QOS - 70% on each slider, and Congestion always on.

Traffic Prio - I have switched off the Classified Games and added my console only.

Turn off Cross play, I am on the PS5.

I dont mess around with ports, I personally think it is a waste of time.

Using a VPN from Express, location is Germany Nuremberg.

 

The minute my ping goes back to the normal 30ish I am lucky to get 5-10 kills, I do this method and I have in the range of 35-50 kills per game and maybe 1-2 poor games for the evening. I get shoot first and kill first, its amazing

I think what is happening, I am closing down the player range to a small amount.
