  1. So the R2 is our own hardware with DumaOS on, this means we have a lot more freedom in terms of development which means faster updates and generally newer features come to the R2 first. The XR Range by Netgear is their hardware with DumaOS on, they have better hardware specs than the R2 and so have better WiFi for example. We usually recommend that if you care more about software then the R2 is the way to go, if you care more about hardware then the XR is for you. Either way we support all the platforms that DumaOS is on, so whichever you end up getting we can help if you have any questions or issues.
  2. I suspect the DHCP lease renewing could be causing the disconnections so setting a static/reserved IP would resolve that. You could set it within the range absolutely and it should be fine, however, a similar issue on the XR500 happens where the lease renewing still affects the reserved IPs. In which case setting them outside the range prevents DHCP trying/failing to renew them. In some cases in still even occurs when doing this and disabling DHCP completely and using reserved IPs exclusively for all devices resolves it. It's an issue NG are aware of. So in this instance I suggested the second stage of the workaround as that works for most people.
  3. What is your ping as shown by the Geo-Filter? Do you see it happen on any other game or just MW2?
  4. While connected via ethernet, disable WiFi radios entirely from the Advanced WiFi settings, reboot the router from the interface, wait 2 minutes, access, enable WiFi radios, apply, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes then see if they appear and if it's more stable from then on.
  5. It would be great if you are able to find the causes and then we can pass that onto NG to aid them in their fix. It's entirely possible this is already fixed on the next version which I'm hoping isn't too far off now.
  6. Welcome to the forum! In LAN Settings, set the DHCP range to start at .50, then assign reserved IP addresses to devices between .2 & .49 so they're out of the DHCP range, apply, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes and see if that stops the disconnects.
  7. Hey, welcome to the forum! Every router, not just our own will support ethernet so in answer to your question, the R2 does support ethernet and WiFi
  8. Vous n'avez pas activé le géo-filtre, vous pouvez donc être placé sur n'importe quel serveur. Vous utilisez également un VPN qui augmentera votre latence. Si vous rectifiez ces deux aspects, votre ping s'améliorera.
  9. Don't worry about that too much, if speedtest.net shows the speeds you expect then you'll be getting that and the router isn't restricting you to the speeds you see on benchmark
  10. Yes that's absolutely fine!
  11. Can you provide a screenshot of your Geo-Filter page please?
  12. No it shouldn't affect gaming at all, yes you can connect devices via ethernet to the XR1000 as well while in AP mode
  13. If you resync the cloud it should be working now - hopefully it'll stay up for a little longer!
  14. We can do but you can't download previous versions and it will usually auto update
  15. Go to Settings and then Administration and go to router mode and you can switch it from there
  16. It is yes but give it a go!
  17. Interesting, so it may be that when it switches to a new host that it is having trouble, can you manually ping the server fine on the app?
  18. Fair enough! LAN port on the R2 to WAN port on the XR then I would recommend you put the XR in AP mode yes
  19. Yes that's right, though you can pick Gaming/Voice and see whether it makes the experience any better
  20. Does it prompt you with downloading a log at all?
  21. Just to double check, the WAN port of the R2 is connected to the LAN port on the Asus? What is the LAN IP of the Asus that you access with?
  22. Is Auto Ping populating if you view the Geo-Filter on a PC? If you log out then select the specific router you're using and log in, does it populate then?
  23. Is the R2 handling PPPoE itself? How did you disable QoS exactly? You can disable the protection options in WAN Settings and that may boost the speed slightly
  24. The Games Console service was the best of them all? We can't impact the send/receive rate so that will be just what the game is doing
  25. We need to do another, it went out of date again after we pushed an update today. We're working on a more permanent solution, in the mean time we'll push another update tomorrow.
