One is a generic circle radius system based on distance from the centre/home point you select, the other you can draw your selected zone that you want servers to be allowed within. That's the only difference between them, otherwise they work exactly the same. You only need to prioritize one or the other, gaming would be my suggestion and prioritize your device as a backup prioritization method.

There are lots of videos on YouTube that can help walk you through it and also guides at support.netduma.com Generally we recommend starting at 70% for download & upload and experiment from there based on your perceived experiences when playing or testing bufferbloat

For PCs you specifically pick the game for the Geo-Filter which can become out of date, switching it to a PlayStation allows it to use a method that doesn't go out of date. The rest of the process ensures you're running the latest cloud and that any current connections that could be hindering you are severed and that your new setup will definitely take effect. Has this solution solved your issue?

You said it only started happening a few days ago, did you change any settings on the router or physically with the setup around that time? Have you tried accessing when directly connected to your ISP modem/router? It could be they've blocked your IP for example so that would be a good check. Otherwise, try changing DNS & set NAT to Open in WAN Settings. -
Please be kinder to yourself, you're not being dumb at all! In regards to the Adblocker and not playing with your phone connected, it's unlikely to make a big difference unless the phone is using significant bandwidth or bombarding the router with requests. It might be worth looking into the Network Monitor when your phone is on to see how much it's using and also on Adblocker to see how many requests it's making. You can manually add domains to block on Adblocker if the default list isn't doing enough. Ah I understand about the subnet mask now thanks, that's all fine you can ignore that. Set NAT filtering to Open in WAN Settings - even if you have an Open NAT already, the option specifically relaxes the firewall so could alleviate any issues caused by that.
-
Where are you checking the LAN subnet mask as LAN Setup sets that for wired and wireless devices. You don't need to use Bandwidth Allocation you can just keep it on the defaults as 1) Share excess is enabled so it will get whatever it needs anyway and 2) Gaming barely uses any bandwidth so setting it that high wouldn't force it to use more but yes it still would be limited by that 70% BUT Traffic Prioritization supersedes Congestion Control so the game wouldn't be limited to 70% but other background processes on the console would. Maybe you do have a faulty router if the ports are giving wildly different or no results as there aren't any settings that would affect ports
-
You only need to set a static IP for the console once, you can also just set NAT to Open in WAN settings or put the console in the DMZ, no need to port forward. Yeah I wouldn't bother with the Auto Setup for Congestion Control, it's not very accurate, much better to fine tune it manually yourself, don't just stick with one percentage as it may not be the best for your connection, that being said, with the way you had it setup it was never triggering as your Traffic Prioritization wasn't getting triggered so either set to Always or ensure your game is actually getting prioritized when playing. Not sure what you mean by "Subnet mask for LAN is correct but not wireless setup, even though the primary and secondary DNS servers are showing up correctly. "

For 5GHz WiFi change the mode down to the next option, I believe it's 2400Mbps. Change DNS to 1.1.1.1 & 1.0.0.1 I can't see how you've set Congestion Control, could you show that please? I assume Bandwidth Allocation is just default for all devices? Traffic Prioritization you're not prioritizing gaming so enable DumaOS Classified Games and that will help.

You can do it in game if you like yes but I don't know how much of a difference you'll notice testing it that way
-
Yep that'll do it, good to hear you figured it out!
-
Don't rely on Ping Optimizer to do it for you, set your speeds manually and set the Congestion Control percentages manually, we usually suggest starting at 70% and then adjusting from there until you find the percentages that work best for you.
-
I would still suggest using Congestion Control at a percentage less than 100% - find the best percentage for you, then you can set it to auto if you only want it to apply when you're gaming. Yes some percentages will work better for you, it's all about finding what works best for your connection - there isn't a one size fits all percentage.
-
Bufferbloat only happens when your all your available bandwidth is being used so while it's good to fine tune QoS to get the best results possible it's unlikely that the results you're seeing now are effecting you unless you're playing when all bandwidth is being used. So do make sure to fine tune and if you have to throttle a lot switch Congestion Control to Auto so it only applies when you're gaming.
-
If the ping is the same then there isn't anything actionable on the router side that you can do as the statistics show there isn't an issue so the best thing to do would be to force some different servers to see if you can find any that play better as it's more likely on that side. Yes set speeds to 1000/1000
-
Set the speed to 1000/1000 as that's the max given your connection - it needs to be set accurately to perform the best. Okay if the ping is about the same what is the gaming issues you're having exactly? You can ignore the NAT part as you're using the ISP router with the R3 in its DMZ - it seemed like you were connecting the R3 direct to the ONT

Good to hear, thanks for the update! -
What speeds have you set the router to use then, 1000/1000? Copy the MAC address of the provider modem and enter that into the R3. Then check it again. What is the average ping you're getting to the game as shown by the Geo-Filter/in game? Are you using SmartBOOST?

Have you got 5GHz set to 160Mhz width? If so that will be why, set it to 80Mhz max and it should work fine again. Even if you don't have it set to that, make sure to set it manually to a width that isn't 160. -
Some connections kind of internally whitelist MAC addresses that can be used - usually to prevent people using third party routers, so presumably that's why it has worked, doesn't make sense otherwise. I suspect it would work better then in the DMZ configuration I mentioned as well as that wouldn't be a factor. Thanks for the update & solution!

Netduma r3 brand new Randomly disconnects from WIFI
Netduma Fraser replied to Don Gordito's topic in Netduma R3 Support
If you're using it without having split the bands then you can't force it to use 5GHz or 2.4GHz, it will use whatever is needed based on your requirements at the time so it will switch between the two automatically, some devices don't like that switching though. Split the bands, name them individually then connect to 5GHz specifically and see if it works -

How often is it happening? Does that mean you've split the bands so you can connect to 5G specifically? If so, you're not experiencing the issue over 2.4? I've given you Early Access so you can upgrade to the firmware there to see if it continues https://forum.netduma.com/forum/151-netduma-r3-early-access/ -
Okay so you're in the Virgin Islands, that's interesting, surprising you're not getting the same results straight to the modem. Can you take the modem out of bridge mode, put the R3 in its DMZ instead please and repeat the test?

As above, alternatively you can find versions listed here: https://support.netduma.com/firmwares/netduma-r3/
