What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode What game are you playing? What platform are you playing on and how is it connected, via ethernet or WiFi? How have you setup the Geo-Filter?

What web browser are you using to access on the PC and do you have a browser based Adblocker enabled? If you leave the SmartBOOST page loading does it eventually load or give you an error? If you could provide the log from Settings when you get a disconnect I can look into that. You haven't mentioned yet if you see the same speed behavior when doing an actual download e.g. Game etc

Glad to hear you were able to resolve the issue, thanks for the update!

I wouldn't say it enhances it at all but as far as I can tell it seems to be like this: What should happen: You have your filter set how you want and search for a game The game sees you can't connect to some servers It may continue searching and trying different servers before connecting you to a server you can connect to (within your radius) You and the opponent connect to the same game server For example: You <> Egypt Server <> Opponent What seems to be happening: You have your filter set how you want and search for a game The game sees you can't connect to some servers It may continue searching and trying different servers It connects to a server you can connect to in order to connect you to a server you couldn't previously connect to Your connection to the game server takes a longer route through a different server before connecting to the game server For example: You <> Egypt Server <> Germany Server <> Opponent OR You <> Egypt Server <> Germany Server <> UK Server <> Opponent Therefore in some cases your opponent may actually have a much lower ping to you if they have a direct connection to the server or they may be experiencing the same routing you are and so neither of you have a very good connection. There is no benefit in terms of networking/ping to do this, the only way I can understand why they would do this is if they favor fast matchmaking above all else. If you're restricting the matchmaking search then it does slow the process down which they may not like. You can tell this is happening because in peoples screenshots you can see the Geo-Filter is doing its job of blocking a server outside the radius and yet the connection is active through the entire game which means that must be the game server and the only way it can be connected to is via a server you can connect to. It may be that using Geo-Latency may help the issue but expect servers outside your radius, hopefully just servers at lower pings than other servers outside your radius. Hope that explains it!

Usually if Ping Heatmap is showing 1000ms then it just means we need to update the game for Heatmap and it has no impact on the way the Geo-Filter is working. However I've just checked my heatmap and it's pinging correctly which makes me think you're not able to access the cloud properly. Resync the cloud on heatmap and try pinging again, does that work? What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode

LAN cable disconnects and reconnects constantly

Access the Interface Go to Settings > DHCP Click Add Rule Click a Device Click Save Repeat for all devices -
I think they're just cracking down on people forcing servers really far away and having a high ping so I don't think there is much you can do really, from the Geo-Filter perspective it's doing everything it can

Is this with or without the VPN now? What if you just use the VPN without the Geo-Filter?

What were the pings of the games you got in the US?
-
They use relay servers from what we can tell now so not an easy thing to counter unfortunately

That's really great to hear, thanks for updating with your experience! -
We're going to put out a cloud update this week which should hopefully help with this

No worries, totally understand, I'm glad your situation has at least improved! -

Have you got a timestamp in the logs where it happened? Could be DHCP, give devices reserved/static IPs in DHCP settings, reboot the router and monitor from there -
As above, it's Geo-Latency, disable that, reboot the game and it will still stay within your radius

Try channel 100 and see if that helps at all. Sorry to hear that, you can set it in AP mode but you will lose all the features in that setup -

Okay that's good on both counts then. However, if it did happen recently then it's likely the auto update of the firmware that did it and going down a version, then disabling auto update on the firmware page may help. That suggests to me that devices aren't liking the higher frequency AX WiFi is providing, however, disabling AX changes the default 5GHz WiFi mode to 4330Mbps so still really high and higher than the options you had to downgrade to previously which could explain it. How many devices do you have using WiFi at any one time generally? I know you said you had 1 device connected and it was still a problem but just want to get the whole picture. Is Enable 20/40 MHz Coexistence enabled or disabled in Advanced WiFi settings? What channel do you have 5GHz set to exactly? Can't quite tell from the screenshot -

It won't be an ISP issue for sure, how the router is connected may impact it but it's unlikely, are you using any of those connection methods? Was this an issue before the beta firmware? Is this an imported router or did you by it from an official retailer within the country? -
I don't think it's anything to do with your internet, setup or settings, just that for some reason they have chosen to have their matchmaking work in that way. Likely to ensure quick matches but at the expense of connection

Netduma Fraser replied to Heroxoot's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Are you using PPPoE, VLAN, DHCP Identifiers or IPv6 at all? Local transfer speed being good would indicate it's not a hardware issue and more of a settings issue or an issue with the speed the router is getting, though you said that was fine over WiFi. Was this an issue before upgrading to the beta firmware? -
If you're doing everything that has been said then there isn't anything else to do currently, it's connecting to you within your radius to then allow a connection to a server outside your radius. This is why Japan was suggested as supposedly having that area allowed prevents the relay necessity.

1200Mbps would make it worse, 2400Mbps is for a specific reason, I wouldn't want you to go any lower that. In Settings > Advanced > Advanced WiFi settings there are options like MU-MIMO etc that I would suggest disabling 1 by 1 and then testing the speeds with. Some devices don't like options such as beamforming for example. I couldn't say why the upload appears to be better than the download currently. What is the model of the modem/router the XR is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the XR? E.g XR in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode Are ALL devices connected to the XR? His first language isn't English, he's just trying to help you -
Could you disable SmartBOOST fully from its menu please and then check the speeds again?

Couldn't say exactly, it'll be tested first and then go out as it will be apart of another cloud update as well now
