NEW R3 FIRMWARE - DumaOS 4.0.540
Greyfox981 and 20 others reacted to Netduma Alex for a topic
Hi Everyone, We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to get a new update with new features and stability fixes out to you. Important Note: You may see "Critical Error: Failed to load minimum required components" after upgrade. Please ignore this message and refresh the page by pressing CTRL+F5. This will reload the page wihout cache. Changelog: Behavioural Identification is a new feature which identifies traffic based on the way it behaves. This allows us to categorise and prioritise traffic which hasn't yet been added to our DPI database, ensuring day one support for new games. It can also assume and categorise encrypted traffic based on the way that it behaves, which means that, for the first time ever, we can prioritise Gaming, Streaming and Video Calls even while you're using a VPN! New Themes have been added to DumaOS, you can now pick from Traditional Red, Gamer Green, Baby Blue or Cherry Pink WPS Support has been added. Press the WPS button on the back of your R3 to start pairing mode for 2 minutes. Translations have been added to the UI, you can now set your DumaOS to Chinese, Dutch, Spanish, French, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Turkish and German. If there are any incorrect translations, you can report them in the change language page. LAN Disconnections have been fixed, you shouldn’t be getting random drop-outs for wired devices anymore. Ping Optimiser has been overhauled and should be quicker and more stable than before. WiFi Auto Channel Selection has been improved, you'll get better speeds over WiFi. PPPoE VLAN compatibility has been fixed, you can now use both PPPoE login and VLAN tags at the same time and everything will work. Memory leaks have been fixed, your unit should no longer have to restart because of memory build up. LAN IPs were sometimes not being assigned before, this is fixed now. Many various frontend fixes. Various Stability and Security Fixes There are more new features coming this year that we've been working on as well. Keep your eyes peeled and we'll hopefully share them soon! You can install the firmware via Settings > Troubleshooting > Upload Firmware, and upload the file below: DumaOS-R3-4.0.540.sig We will be pushing this via the One Click Update over the next week or so.21 points -
Ten Years of Netduma
DOGGAVELI and 12 others reacted to Netduma Luke for a topic
Ten years ago today, we launched Netduma. When you’re in a startup, you spend most of your time looking forward. Rarely, if ever, do you look back. Learn from your mistakes, don’t dwell on them, keep improving. But today, we want to pause for a moment. It has been a decade, after all. The Beginning We launched Netduma from Iain’s parents' kitchen. Our website had just gone live, selling the Netduma R1—our first router. It was no wallflower. Frankly, it looked a bit like a fire alarm, only had 2.4GHz WiFi, but the software Iain had built was unlike anything else out there. We sold out of those first R1s almost instantly. The e-commerce site Iain’s dad had hurriedly put together held up well. Our logistics process? Not so much. That led to many all-nighters as we worked through the order backlog. When you’re a startup, it’s impossible to be good at everything. But to make it, you need to be exceptional at one or two things. We had two. As gamers, we knew firsthand how much lag sucks. And with Iain’s brain, we could actually do something about it. Soon after, we moved into our first office (to the relief of Iain’s parents, whose house had begun to resemble a factory floor). We hired our first full-time employees. Word spread about what our software could do. Bit by bit, month by month, we levelled up. We improved our software. We grew our team. We made mistakes. We learned from them. We kept going. And we repeated that over and over. The very first Netduma office. Looking Ahead Fast forward to today. Our tech stack has evolved from fixing lag in games to fixing all bad Internet - for work calls, video streaming, and everything else. We’re partnered with British Telecom, Telstra, NETGEAR, Nokia, Genexis, and Mercku, with more partnerships to announce next year. Just a few weeks ago, our Service Provider business won the Scale-Up of Network X award. We’ve got a great team, great customers, and great support around us. And we’ve managed to do all this without any investment, putting every penny we made back into R&D to make new features (more on that further down). If you’re reading this, you’ve likely been part of the journey. Whether it was buying one (or all!) of our routers, helping on the forum, or telling us how we could improve - you’ve made a difference. Every piece of feedback, the good and the bad, has helped shape who we are today. None of this would have been possible without the support we’ve had along the way. Thank you. But here’s the exciting part: we’re just getting started. For the past few years, we’ve been working on two groundbreaking features. When we first envisioned them, we weren’t sure they’d even be possible. One fixes bufferbloat once and for all, with no downsides. The other pinpoints the root causes of poor Internet performance, whenever they occur. These features are set to shake up the industry and will be announced early next year. While it’s great to look back on the past ten years, we’re even more excited about what’s ahead. A huge thank you to our elite team in Cambridge, our incredible partners, and everyone who has supported us along the way. Thank you, Luke, Iain, and the entire Netduma Team P.S. If you haven’t yet bought our award-winning Netduma R3 router, which runs the very latest Netduma software, you can use the code ‘10Years’ for 10% off—this week only.13 points -

NEW XR1000/XR1000v2 Beta Firmware: DumaOS 3.3.688 Access Request
skoolzout1 and 8 others reacted to Netduma Justas for a topic
Hello to all XR1000 and XR1000v2 users! We're finally ready with a new DumaOS update for XR1000 and XR1000v2. This update introduces updates and fixes for our DPI cloud synchronisation. Users will now receive our latest DPI database versions as soon as they're released. This means support for new games in Geo-Filter, Traffic Prio and Traffic Controller. You'll see new titles like Marvel Rivals are supported in Geo-Filter, and new titles like Path of Exile 2 are supported in Traffic Prioritisation. We've also fixed the issue from the previous version where there were no default lists in Adblocker. Now you can begin blocking ads straight away with the click of a button, and the lists will update automatically over time. There are also some backend fixes, including security improvements. This firmware was created to fix any lingering bugs with the feature set of the XR1000, and deliver on all of the features promised when the XR1000 was sold. However it does not introduce any of the exciting new features from DumaOS 4, such as SmartBOOST and Geo-Filter 2.0. For the time being, these features are exclusive to the Netduma R3 gaming router, and we can make no promise that they'll make their way to the XR1000. That said, XR1000 users will continue to receive updates for compatibility with the latest games via Netduma's DPI cloud, and security updates will be provided by Netgear. To request beta access, please reply to this post.9 points -

Goodbye Netduma routers
648 USD - Wasted on DumaOS and 6 others reacted to CES for a topic
After so long with the netduma R2 and the xr1000 as well as the R3 router, i have decided that these routers are simply not worth it. The amount of software issues & lack of functional updates is unbearable. I have switched to Asus routers which has definitely been alot better (Asus ROG rapture GT-AXE11000 Running asusWRT Merlin software) this router has been 1000% better in every aspect and it was the same price as Netduma routers. I love the concept the the Netduma routers but the functionality and software support for these routers are none existent. Im not sure what needs to change with the Netduma team but the lack of support is not on my list of favorites. Among the lack of software support, these routers seem under powered and cooling efficiency is lacking especially when pushing these routers to the limit. Netduma we pay money for these routers we are expecting you guys to make a real effort in solving issues like QOS or even interface related issues. I have been watching the forums for awhile now and i have made the decision to no longer be a supporter or customer until there’s some sort of major overhaul with the software and the team working on this… granted nothing is perfect but an attempt to roll out updates or “hotfixes” would be appreciated by many, and the fact that there is no 3rd party software support or solution shows me that these devices aren’t as customizable as they may seem. Overall i am extremely disappointed with netgear(xr1000) and netduma(R2,R3) i have owned them all & the only reason anyone should look at getting this router is for the geo filter for blocking servers you don't want to connect to. Overall i give these products a 3/10 absolutely a waste of money.7 points -
HAPPY FRIDAY! . 🥳🤩 Now that's about as nice as it gets. "JUMPS IN THE SHALLOW END [HEAD FIRST]" 👀 Alright, @Netduma Fraser -🤬 Brace Yourself , This is not directed towards you personally, i mean you personally took this job , so give me as personal as it get's with DumaOS? I spent nearly **$500** on 2 XR routers (XR500/XR1000) because I believed the hype: “The ultimate gaming router powered by DumaOS.” But instead of cutting-edge features, I got stuck in a never-ending cycle of broken promises and half-delivered updates. Now I’m hearing that to get the latest and greatest features, I have to drop another **$200** on the R3? So, I’m out almost **$700** just to stay current? Seriously, why did I even buy into the XR series if the “future-proof” promise only applies to someone else’s hardware? Oh wait ... That's your own hardware (SOLD SEPERATELY) And let’s not ignore the elephant in the room: **DumaOS 4.0.** The fact that it’s “never coming to the XR series” 🤯says everything I need to know. Why invest in a product that’s been abandoned before it’s even reached its potential? Meanwhile, R-series users are enjoying the full experience, and XR users are left to rot on outdated firmware, i mean "Based on IOU's" and "We don't have a beta or know when it will be available" IN any other company - SAME SCENERIO. [Hey bruce, "rolls chair around with a quick swivel then pivot" , What's up Chad? Where we at on the beta for the LOL10000PEW's Firmware? Oh One second Bruce, "rolls chair around witha quick swivel then pviot" keys clacking on keyboard. Whips its backaround. So Bruce, were looking like 2 weeks tops. Thanks CHAD! . Oh one can dream .... I mean NETGEAR doesnt have to APPROVE the Beta Versions. Just DUMAOS right> . By the time we get DumaOS 3.3, the R-series will probably be running on version 6.0, complete with features we were promised from the start. (A Box can be so misleading) It’s painfully clear this was the plan all along: 🤡 1. **Market the XR series** as cutting-edge gaming routers. 2. Promise firmware updates that never arrive. 3. Launch the R3 and make it the real star of the show, while XR users are told to sit tight. 4. Leave XR users permanently one step behind. Let’s face it, this is a **brilliant marketing scheme**: 🥸 - Netgear pulls in customers with promises of premium gaming features powered by DumaOS. - Updates for XR routers get delayed indefinitely. - DumaOS shifts focus to their R-series, forcing loyal XR users to spend more money just to stay relevant. What’s next?🤑 The **XR2000** in 2030? The **XR-StillOn3.3** in 2035? By 2040, we’ll get the **XR-HopeYouDidn’tWant4.0** with a tagline that reads, “Firmware coming soon… we promise.” At this rate, we’ll have routers named after the stages of grief: 🙄 - XR1000: **Denial** – “They’ll release the update any day now!” - XR2000: **Anger** – “Why am I still waiting for this update?!” - XR3000: **Bargaining** – “Maybe if I tag Netduma everywhere, they’ll care.” - XR4000: **Depression** – “Still stuck on 3.3, but I’m too tired to care anymore.” - XR5000: **Acceptance** – “Guess I’ll just buy an R3 and move on with my life.” And the best part? This isn’t just disappointing—it’s insulting. It feels like we were used to build a customer base for DumaOS, only to be abandoned the second they decided to roll out their own hardware. “Thanks for your money; here’s an outdated firmware to remember us by!” 😭 Honestly, it’s like buying a sports car only to find out it’s missing the engine. “Oh, you wanted speed? That’s in the R3 model. Would you like to upgrade?” At this point, the only thing “cutting-edge” about the XR series is how it cuts into my wallet. 🤣 So, Fraser, where does this leave us?👀 Because from where I’m standing, XR users are nothing more than an afterthought in Dumas's bigger plan. Convert the customers of XR Series (NETGEAR) to R Series (YOUR COMPANY's ROUTER) Slowly pick off the customers of NETGEAR and take them all for yourself. Brilliant! Final Note - Since R3 is already out and kind of "meh" as is been quite some time that the "hype" of the R3 is kind of no more. (No disrespect, just in regards to a WIFI 6 Gaming Router to Others out their) When should i expect to purchase the R4-Wifi 7 - A router that can compete with todays Gaming Routers ( i wont list your competition, but GOOGLE will!) - Spoiler Alert - Check the "specs sheet" between an R3 vs XR1000 It all lies in the software.... ultimately DumaOS Seriously - Wallet in Hand. I'm ready to buy today P/S - Don't get to this point and be salty😅. This is easily my way of letting my opinion get the best of me. Notice i didn't mention you (except Frazier) , so don't take anything i said personal. That goes for all (including Frazier) - " This was meant in no way shape or form to single any(one-person) out OR in no way to be disrespectful" Its a forum, for this exact reason. 😶 LETS TALK ABOUT IT! Thank you for your time , L2W7 points

How are we feeling about BO6 Hit detection?
BL4CK OPS V3TRN and 5 others reacted to Infoseye for a topic
I experienced this on day 1 of launch of bo6 in every single game, I have stopped playing and waiting for the next update to fix these issues which would be likey season 1 update unlikely they will release a hot fix for this before then. To everyone with this issue, there is nothing wrong with your set-up or anything you can do about it. It's the game, not your Internet or netdumar fault. The game is broken, some people are just lucky to be on the advantage end of the gun fight they know this and they are abusing it. Reason why I taken a break from bo6 until it's fixed.6 points -

Reasons why I will never buy anything with Duma OS.....
PostelDude007 and 4 others reacted to RonRezin for a topic
OKAY FRASIER LETS SEE WHAT YOU CANT DO FOR ME ...I've owned and used the xr1000 for about 3 years, in those 3 years I've had one update in those 3 years I've had the same problems with no fixing. No updates to fix. No suggested fixes worked. Nothing works. The infrequency of updates for this terrible router is laughable. Do any quick searches on Google and you will come across all of us with the same problems that I've had for the last 3 years..... PROBLEMS. 1. No matter what computer, what router? What network connection? I use Chrome, Firefox, edge. The OS the GUI takes literally 4 minutes to show up.... And whenever I had apply I usually have some sort of message saying we have to wait for the rapp. Never knowing if anything was applied. 2. Various aspects of this router don't work for instance... Congestion control download 100% upload anything under 100%. My download is affected... Just to test put your upload to two megabytes and then recheck your download speed. Why is your download speed changing it shouldn't.. you know why it changes. Dumaos sucks and you guys couldn't care less cuz we already gave you money. 3. Qos. Finally, after 3 years I see a listing for call of duty that doesn't say console only, doesn't work... Duma OS classified games takes control and it's clearly missing packets... My network performance in multiple games is a thousand times better with qos off and with congestion control off... Tell me again I why I purchase this router? So I cannot use the features I purchased it for? Great job Frazier 3. More device manager no matter how many times I named devices, they're Mac don't change their IPs don't change and they're still all unnamed devices. I have 20 unnamed devices that I've named lol but they're just still unnamed. Nothing changes in the devices but if one goes off and on the router has no idea who it is anymore even though I already told it what to name the IP and Mac but nope unnamed devices 4. Qos distribution. It says it deals with percentages, right? So the higher number is a higher percentage, thus meaning more bandwidth? Wrong No matter where I set those distributions I get about 600 MB down... If I reset the distributions I get $900 down... They're all at 6. :00 I get 900 then I put my computer up higher I get less download. I put my computer at a lower number I get less download Make it make sense razor. 5. I have three computers in my household, multiple devices and I'm honestly pretty sure the only thing that hasn't been updated is this router. Actually no I'm lying. There were two updates but one of them was a b******* update that didn't fix anything. 56. First firmware Then 64 or something now 72 6. This is a $300 router Congestion control doesn't work Qos doesn't work Traffic distribution doesn't work Your GUI hardly works Every time I hit apply I get an error about Rapp I've reset this firmware. I don't even know how many times factory reset software reset the reset button. Not to mention this is the second router of the xr1000 . Yeah I even tried different hardware. The problem is your router or your Duma OS. I've owned this router in two zip codes. Two different internet providers. Same problems, different computers same problems. Tell them to Update the firmware FRASIER. Never buying Netgear or Duma OS again. 300 bucks for this Lol Oops forgot about Geo location Guess what else doesn't work? I can set the entire planet Earth for my geo location and it still won't connect to a game lololol but as soon as I turn this s*** off I'm good. Now I've only tried it with call of duty but that's why I bought this router. So it's not serving its intended purpose. Don't tell me try another game. That's not what you sold me. You didn't sell me a router that only works for some games.lol. And now you guys are sponsoring Black ops with your Duma OS. Hilarious. Got to warn them by something else. You guys don't care.5 points -

The 🐘 in the room - by L2W Dear Fraser, since you do not want to respond/answer, i think some else could from the Netduma Team could shed some light on this? I hope this message finds you well. I’d like to express my frustration with the situation surrounding the XR series routers (Specifically the XR500 and XR1000), as it feels like we, as customers, have been left behind while new products and updates are being prioritized for the R-series. When I purchased the XR500 and XR1000, I did so believing the promise of a cutting-edge, future-proof gaming experience powered by DumaOS. At the time, I invested nearly $500 into the two routers, fully expecting that the firmware updates would continue to enhance their functionality and gaming features. However, the reality has been far from that expectation. Despite being marketed as premium gaming routers, the updates have been inconsistent, delayed, and in some cases, non-existent. Now, with the introduction of the R3, it feels as though customers like myself who purchased the XR series are being left behind. I understand the need for new products, but I cannot help but feel that the focus on the R3 has effectively sidelined the XR series, especially with the news that DumaOS 4.0 will not be available for the XR series. This is incredibly disheartening, as it appears that users who invested in the XR routers are now facing outdated firmware, while the R-series is receiving the latest features. I believe this situation could have been handled differently, particularly given that Netgear is not a small company. If Netgear is truly committed to its customers, particularly those who have invested in the XR series, it should not deny them access to the latest firmware updates that bring the promised gaming features. Denying these updates is not only poor customer service, but it also undermines the trust that customers have placed in the brand. If the focus is indeed shifting entirely to the R-series, it would be much more transparent to acknowledge this and provide clear communication to customers regarding the future of the XR series. It’s frustrating to feel like I’ve been caught in a cycle of purchasing products that, at the end of the day, are rendered obsolete faster than I could have ever anticipated. As it stands, I’m left wondering when—or if—there will be any updates for the XR series to bring them up to the same level of functionality as the R3. The lack of clarity and consistent communication about this issue is disappointing. I’d also like to raise the point that Netgear’s partnership with DumaOS should be focused on providing a top-tier experience for all users, regardless of which series router they own. Denying updates or withholding features for older products feels like a missed opportunity for both Netgear and DumaOS to show their commitment to their customer base. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. Best regards, L2W I do not mind being the 🐘 in the room. SOMEONE HAS TO . Hey Netduma fellows, Hope you’re all having a great day! I wanted to share the best settings I’ve found for improving my online gaming experience. Now, I’m not sure if the Netduma team will be happy about this because, honestly, none of these settings are related to the Netduma router. I’ve been using Netduma routers for over five years, starting with the R1 model. Sometimes, they performed great; other times, not so much. Over time, I began to question whether using QoS alone was the best approach—until I was introduced to SQM (Smart Queue Management). Some of you might already be familiar with SQM, CAKE, and FQ_CoDel, but let me tell you—SQM is an absolute game-changer when running on high-performance router hardware with OpenWRT. My Solution for Consistent Performance The key to getting good, consistent results (which has helped me maintain a 3+ K/D ratio in every FPS game) was: 1. Using a high-performance router that supports OpenWRT 2. Enabling CAKE as the QoS algorithm Since CAKE requires significant CPU power, I chose the Flint 2 router, which can efficiently shape over 500 Mbps of traffic while running CAKE. The Best Part? Set It and Forget It The only tuning required is adjusting overhead and MPU (Minimum Packet Unit) settings. Other than that, once set up, it just works. That’s all I wanted to share. Hope this helps someone out there struggling with network consistency!4 points

Hi Guys, I was one of the early adopters preordering this router and although I did expect some issues at first till few patch updates came out but it’s been over a year now and still having to endlessly reboot and factory reset router just to get it to function. main issues I get is: •router forgetting settings and things like geo fence suddenly not working and not working again until rebooting or factory resetting and setting it back up. • complete freezes where nothing loads at all. •error saying something along side Duma has not loaded correctly then the try again does nothing •internet speed drops massively to around 3mbps then if I unplug Ethernet and plug it in other router goes back to full speed so a Duma issue. •needing daily reboots at least just to function properly. •every firmware tried has had issues and not just minor ones. •Duma OS not loading at all sometimes doesn’t fix after reboot then again needs factory reset to work temporarily. Just a bit fed up as when it has it’s short periods of working it is great but it’s so inconsistent that I can’t recommend it to anyone in its current state as I spend more time resetting the router and going through the settings than I use it issue free. moved from a XR1000 to this R3 and there has been a few times I’ve went back to the XR as for the most part it is more reliable although both are a mile away from being perfect. I know you guys are a small team so doing my best staying patient but £200 and still waiting a year later to get a bit of my moneys worth out of it, just feels like the customer/community at this point are guinea pigs being free testers not only on the beta firmwares but just on the device as a whole. any help would be great.4 points

Congratulations NETDUMA! This is really a success story from the start.. First starting in the kitchen and now evolving into what I would call a dominate force in the market.. I honestly have to say you guys have done what no other router or software company has ever thought was possible.. Its like the saying.. "Going where no man has gone before". That is honestly such a true statement in this situation.. I have been here for over 6 years and really have to give my hat off to NETDUMA.. Its been a marvel to see them grow.. And the features that really make one speechless.. When it comes to gaming there is no other router software out there that can influence ones experience like a DumaOS router.. Hands down there is none.. I have to say the folks at NETDUMA are truly good folks! I have to give a shout out to Fraser as well.. Watching him work the support forums is amazing.. That guy has patience like no other.. ha ha I thought I had patience but this guy has me beat! Congrats again guys! May there be many more years of success to come. Its well deserved. Blops 6 & other games running rough online! Try this!
Hydros85 and 3 others reacted to YT_LowPingKing for a topic
Go to Ping Optimizer then set your congestion control to LLM ( low latency mode ) Since the release of Black Ops 6 I've been testing different congestion control settings. One match would feel okay. Bullets would register the way I'd expect. Then the very next it would all go to 💩 So I would go into testing different congestion control sliders settings. Even with buffer bloat at an a+ & Ping Potter showing a smooth graph the game would feel very inconsistent. This was incredibly noticeable when trying to Sprint from a dead stop. Going into a private match and just trying to Sprint away felt like I was a millisecond or two behind my controller. For somebody who plays cod consistently this was really noticeable. I'd even noticed this same thing happening in MW3 & could never figure out exactly why. Up into this point I'd never actually tried using LLM within congestion control. Since turn it on the other day all games feel significantly better. Blops 6 feels snappy and responsive. Going into a private match and trying to Sprint away no longer feels sluggish. I'd love to know if this works for others in the community. Sure the NetDuma team would as well. Thx Scott4 points -

I'm watching an old Sears christmas footage video. It's get's to a point in the video where it showcases the new Atari 800 and it's price tag. Granted, back then it wasn't called a console, yet. But, sheesh. That price tag compared to today's price. In American, including inflation, would have been over $2200. This would have been even more over the pond. Sheesh, the difference. Lol. 4:334 points

Just wanted to say thankyou for the heads-up about OPENWRT; I had not realised they started supporting this router (over 2 years ago!) - This has made my Xmas, and I too am now running OpenWrt 24.10.0-rc4 and things are much more stable... Wish I had done this 2 years ago.. Thanks again for making my Xmas3 points

Hi There, I can see in the logs that when you plug in the ethernet cable, It often is unable to get a LAN IP. no address range available for DHCP request via br-lan We believe we've got a fix for this coming in the next Beta firmware (Hopefully Friday). I'll DM it over to you once we've got it and we can see if it fixes your issue. If you're interested it appears to be a race condition with the DHCP Server: https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/base-system/dhcp_configuration#race_conditions_with_netifd3 points -
I hate having to use an old laptop just to funnel in my VPN on the device that needs it but can't use the vpn's app. Why is it taking this long to get some sort of line of communication between Duma & Netgear? All I hear if it's here, Xitter Facebook is the same answer.. "checking with the team" "reaching out again"... At this rate, Duma should just take Netgear to court over nonsense like this... throwing the company under the bus. And just proceeded for Duma to drop it's own beta because NG clearly doesn't care about the xr1000 anymore, moving on to these newer wifi7 & AI driven devices.3 points

BO6: Instantly getting melted or shooting first and dying first? Your not the only one!!!
TrayDay and 2 others reacted to TODDzillaInLA for a topic
Yes like i have said since 2015 the better your internet connection to the game the more the game handicaps you. With SBMM being parried with EOMM now its god awful in BO6. In in multiplayer MW3 2023 EOMM would just spawn a bad player behind you giving them the chance to kill you with out you knowing they are behind you. In warzone they will give the less experience or bad player in the engagement a advantage from a little quicker ttk or even a 1 hit melee with a longer lunge. You ever notice a score streak like the mortar strike will following you in warzone LOL and when you do die to it and you spectate the person that uses it they are extremely horrible at the game but yet you wont get a hit marker with yours and you dropped it on a full team of 4. Now in BO6 2024 EOMM is turned up so high if you have a extremely good connection to where you are getting a ping under 30ms the lobbies are just sweaty right, But if you really pay attention the lobbies are not sweatier, your just dying to more RNG! This is why you see videos and people saying around 60ping is the sweet spot. The average player that is not competitive at all will not notice a difference in latency between a 10 ping to a 60 ping lobby (Clueless) but the guy that plays every day will defiantly feel the difference but if your just getting wrecked cause of the condition of the game and not the actual skill base of the enemy then the smart side of your brain says lets play smarter and not harder and lets go back to that 60ms ping server (which causes players to try manipulate and look alternative ways to help get easier lobbies) Also what i have noticed with activision putting up 2nd name server to detect VPN usage. PC players will now get shadowed banned if the 2nd name server can not complete the handshake cause your ID is not matching your last known IP and the IP keeps changing frequently for that same ID. And if you are on console since shadow banned and perm bands are not written into the code they will put console vpn users into crazy hacker lobbies. This guy F@cked around and found out even admits towards then end of the video he got shadow banned Also if someone is up to no good from using a cronus, titin, REWASD (which now just crashes your game) or any input device that helps give you any kind of advantage, from ESP and or AIMBOT, VPN and so on... (Basically any thing that did not come out of the box with the game that will give you a advantage) The game will allow a enemy to 1 tap you in core with any gun. I tested a VPN for a coder 2 weeks ago and i got the bottiest lobbies of all time but EOMM cranked up so high i got 1 tapped by enemies not even shooting in my direction and was not even worth playing with the vpn enabled. With the 2nd name server up and all this AI stuff the game knows your up to something but they can not shadow or perm ban you on console and they will not perm ban you on pc to they detect a illegal tool being used cause they technically need prof you are breaking TOS. A member in my discord has been using a cronus since call of duty ghost 2012 with a PlayStation and every year he upgrades to the new version of cod he went from the ps3 to the 4 and now is on the 5 and he reached out to me cause he said BO6 was not giving him no love and he was just getting $hitted on right and left. He said he got so frustrated and unplugged the cronus and the next game he played was night and day different. This is just my 2cents but they do not want you to get better at the game! They want to keep you in this gray area. If you have a good game the next game punishes you lol. If you just keep getting really good at the game then the less experience players is not going to want to play cause they keep getting $hitted on. So they think if they handicap you enough the competitiveness side of you will keep you playing and well little Billy and Timmy get a dopamine spike every time they get a kill they do not even care or know what KD is. Also do not know if you noticed but there is no more KD again Treyarch went back to EDR which you get a kill point even if you only get a assist (Basically Activsion, Treyarch and Raven Softwares way for giving out patriation trophies)3 points -
Qos is really only good if your internet suffers from bad traffic example if you have loads of other devices using the internet at the same time Enabling Qos actually makes games worse .. Its been proven this .. What your are doing using qos is limiting your speeds you actally get to lower speeds you want full speeds while gaming ... The thing to keep in mind is QOS is of very limited value when you only control one end. So you can prioritize packets going outbound, but only as far as the next hop (ISP). Inbound not much you can do. Prioritizing within your LAN is feasible but I don't believe Asus QOS does anything with that, you'd need a switch with QOS features. QOS can do more harm than good too, all it is doing is putting pseudo limitations on the connection, making some devices think there is saturation and others think it is all good. This really only works for TCP traffic, UDP not so much. The QOS process also adds a bit of latency to process the packets. If the latency is beyond the router, QOS will do more harm than good (even if it isn't, that's usually the case, it is only needed if you are saturating the connection with other things, like running a large file upload while gaming. If the link is not saturated, QOS will only hurt, not help). It isn't like it is going to accelerate packets beyond the speed of light or anything. ...3 points

Determining R3's Optimal Bandwidth Entered
Krush and 2 others reacted to Netduma Fraser for a topic
I'd suggest setting what you're actually receiving - for Congestion Control/SmartBOOST to be most effective it needs to know what bandwidth it has to play with. An extreme example but say you have 500Mbps speeds but you've entered you have 1000Mbps. You throttle to 70% it would theoretically throttle to 700Mbps but you have less than that so your connection can still be saturated and the router wouldn't be able to counteract it.3 points -

Get off the Atlanta server it’s the worst. I live 4 hours from Atlanta and block that server as it’s horrible with lag. Not sure why as I also get 6-8ms ping but have horrible hit detection and lag almost every game. I mainly play on the Dallas, Ohio area servers and have much better gameplay at 20-25ms ping 🤷♂️ Try other servers and see what you get.3 points

Best Cat8 ethernet cable for PS5 and R3?

No real recommendations, the differences between them are the speeds/distances they can support essentially. For home use Cat5e or Cat6 is more than sufficient.3 points -

It would be nice if we could have a different geo-fence for each device we add. That way when multiple people are playing different games simultaneously we can isolate the desired servers for each device.3 points
