All it does is make your speed tests more accurate, so if you want them to be as accurate as possible I'd suggest leaving it enabled.

With AP mode DumaOS features are disabled so if you want to use QoS you'll have to use it in router mode. Ideally for it to work properly you'd have your ISP modem/router handle PPPoE.

The remote access option is for developers to connect for specific bugs not for everyday support. What do you mean by DHCP IDs? Glad it's all working now, keep us posted!
-
We don't do remote support but have you set your expected bandwidth speeds on the router? What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g. R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode. Are ALL devices connected to the router? Was the PC wired when you did a test? Are you testing the speed on the router or speedtest.net?

Using expert you're setting a target ping so yes you could set it to 20ms theoretically to account for those spikes. I don't think it was working properly like this in the past and more just adding a delay but with recent fixes to it, it should work how I've described.

It was removed as the game can't be filtered but I've requested it be added back so people can still ping it/have Steady Ping apply

Are you using Armor? What web browser are you using? Do you have a browser based Adblocker enabled? Is the browser or you forcing a connection to the interface using HTTPS? -
problem with XR700....

Ahh that's good to hear, well done, yes that's correct for the beta version -
We've had our CEO chase them about it and waiting to hear back so I don't think you'll need to do this

XR1000 BETA NEWS?

So there are a couple of ways you can do it really, you can use the generic Gaming activity which will prioritize any game on any device that it detects is playing. If you want both devices to be prioritized when they play then this is the best option. Otherwise, you can select the specific game so it will only prioritize when that game is being played. Then adding the device will complement the activity priority, if you're not concerned with prioritizing the other device too much then just add the main PC here.

That's good to hear, thanks for the update!

XR1000V2 QOS Congestion Control
Netduma Fraser replied to kringle's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
It's going to be using servers that aren't necessarily as close to you. The benefit of using PingPlotter is you're doing downloads/streams etc while doing it and therefore actually performing tasks you would normally be doing on the internet and adjusting Congestion Control to control the ping in that situation. Therefore it's going to be more accurate and a real world test. -
One day of ownership - wifi drop outs, slow speed.
Netduma Fraser replied to Danmc17's topic in Netduma R3 Support
I don't know for certain whether that would be the cause but potentially using them both might be contributing to it. When the issue happens could you grab the logs from the troubleshooting page in settings please? -
XR1000V2 QOS Congestion Control
Netduma Fraser replied to kringle's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
I wouldn't focus on Connection Benchmark, if you did the real world test with downloads using PingPlotter then it's proof that your connection does not get that bad so just focus on PingPlotter and reducing those spikes if possible. Realistically with Congestion Control set to Auto Enable so it only applies when you're gaming other devices will still have plenty for any activities they need e.g. 4K streams etc. -
Steady Ping is at the top of the Geo-Filter Map, click it and you can disable it from there. Strict etc is in Geo-Filter settings, click the top right of the page and go to settings. Add your device to SmartBOOST as well as that will help. No that's fine, you're using a pure modem there so it doesn't have any settings and they're not needed. Try this: Quit the game and game client completely (e.g. Steam, Battle.net including from the System Tray) Remove device from the Geo-Filter Resync from the Geo-Filter Map menu Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter Set up the Geo-Filter how you like Wait 2 minutes Boot up game Then see if it works better to get the game you want.

Did you factory reset after the update to this version as it should have improved overall I think it probably is as we do know there are improvements to be made with HVPN working better with other features but that's good to know!
-
The ping is very good to be fair, have you got a smart phone? If so you can monitor the ping using the mobile app to see if you get any fluctuations/spikes. After a reset there are just a few things I would do: Ensure correct speeds are set Adjust Congestion Control (seems like you have good values currently but we can dive deeper into this if needed) Set priorities on SmartBOOST - remove the reservations, they're not needed. Ensure Gaming is set as an activity but also add the device specifically. Check Ping Heatmap for the closest/lowest ping servers to me Setup Geo-Filter for a simple radius of 1000km around my location or cover the servers identified as the best from Heatmap / Geo-Latency off / Strict Mode on / Ping Assist 0 / Steady Ping try with and without Check NAT status on the game - if necessary port forward for a PC or DMZ for a console The server in Ireland is an authentication server required for online play and is therefore automatically allowed by us - it will not impact your game ping.

I'd remove the manual DNS, that might not be helping you, if you want to use one then use 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1

That's bizarre, changing the LAN IP shouldn't have made any difference whatsoever. Was the IP to access the Nokia router 192.168.0.1 by any chance?
