  1. The purpose of Steady Ping is to raise your ping to ensure better stability/sync with the server, disable it if you would rather that didn't happen. Using a VPN will raise your ping, where are you from and where is the VPN server you're connecting to?
  2. Delete entries for one and then add on the other and leave what you've decided to use as the active/viewed screen if you see what I mean - if you want to prioritize by devices it should be clicked/showing, not activities
  3. Given it's resolving to the same IP address in each picture and everything has stayed the same on your end this would indicate an issue with your routing/line. This could also be more to do with the time of the day with the first being late morning and second being early afternoon.
  4. Specifically those playing that game appear offline? That's very odd, do you notice anything blocked on the map when this happens?
  5. Yes please everyone do the above and make sure you know what changes these are making before you commit to doing so.
  6. Yeah pretty much the above. By having a consistent ping you're more in sync with the server so it should play better.
  7. Okay thanks for the report, we'll need to retest it - if you add the PC with the Games Console service it should work that way
  8. Added, currently the public firmware is the latest, there isn't a more up to date Early Access build yet
  9. Pretty much the above. The reason why this works is that the routing to the server is better, services like that claim optimum routing to game servers. There will be a limit though, you're not going to see Europe low pings to the US regardless
  10. You can but ideally you want it to be direct from the hub, as it would be a proper baseline and also throw up any potential issues with the hub itself or line, otherwise you may spend a long time trying to resolve issues with CC on the R3 that can't be solved as they're inherent to your line/hub.
  11. Okay that's more as expected, did you have the Geo-Filter enabled at the time? Wondering if that's the cause for the friends list not showing as that would be something we can then fix with a cloud update easily.
  12. Okay that's great that they're very similar, it's not terrible, that's your base line now. So set off some downloads, streams etc then start with a high value for Congestion Control (set to Always), say 95% then check the graph, decrease by 10%, check, decrease by 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good and then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved. It's important to note that Download & Upload on Congestion Control don't have to be the same value and that you may have a better experience with differing values. So ideally you should see the above, then you'll start a download and the ping will get much higher and more spikey and you'll then be able to bring that down gradually until you find the right values that'll bring you as close to the graphs above as possible.
  13. It's a lot better definitely, you'll still need to do one direct from the modem with no traffic so you can have your baseline to compare it to, then you know how much play you have in being able to increase stability
  14. Is it staying on when you're actually playing and off during the lobby for example? If so that would be expected
  15. Good to hear, thanks for the update!
  16. I believe the server is down for that part - you can just change your location manually for the moment, it doesn't need to be pin point accurate
  17. Ah, don't do 0.5ms that's why it looks so spiky, can you do another one with the default 2.5ms please
  18. That's expected currently - they serve ads using the same URL as the video which makes it hard to block at the network level, it's something we're hoping to be able to combat going forward
  19. I would say it's probably the above but if it's working for you that's great!
  20. I think whatever server it's using for that is down at the moment, thanks for the report, I'll pass it onto the team. Okay and how have you added this to SmartBOOST with just the gaming option or have you added the device specifically? Can you provide a screenshot of what you see exactly please?
  21. Click the icon on the Device Manager page
  22. The location is just to set your home location so just click the house and click on the map where you live then you can filter as normal. We are aware of that though.
  23. No you can only use one or the other at a time
  24. Ah I thought you were referring to our DPI for QoS. The firewall will be the default one Netgear always use and as we didn't create it I'm not sure which one it is and there isn't any information online about it. I suspect because most people will be content with the built in firewall + Armor if they wish - these routers are not normally bought with the intention to adjust firewall settings. It's not going to be an enterprise level firewall by any means but it will be enough for normal home usage.
  25. We do update and remove games periodically, I wouldn't have thought we'd have remove that one though, if you resync the cloud does it reappear and do they trigger?
