  1. You could do modem > R3 > XR1000 in AP mode for example and that should give you the range you need while allowing the R3 to control everything
  2. It has a built in firewall but you're not able to configure it at all. You can check out what Armor does here: https://www.netgear.com/uk/home/services/armor/ but I don't believe it has any configurable options either, it's more like an Anti-virus from what I can see. DPI works as is.
  3. Ah, that'll be it then, after you disabled DHCP did you not give reserved IPs to your devices? They won't be able to connect without them if you've disabled DHCP. You also don't need to disable DHCP on the R3 to get an Open NAT. If it's what I mentioned then just keep DHCP enabled/give all devices reserved IPs and you'll be good.
  4. It's possible the DHCP lease is renewing and for some reason the device just isn't taking the new IP address - so you could increase the DHCP lease time to 10000 minutes, this may reduce it happening to once a week. Otherwise setting reserved IPs for each device on the router may prevent it happening entirely.
  5. Great to hear that, thanks for the update!
  6. Can you provide a screenshot of what you're seeing when you connect to that server please?
  7. Try before - it should just work after a reset without that
  8. Set a static IP on the PC with the following details IP address: 192.168.77.100 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default gateway: 192.168.77.1 DNS: 192.168.77.1 If you're not sure how to do this, you can check this guide: https://kb.netgear.com/27476/How-do-I-set-a-static-IP-address-in-Windows then try accessing 192.168.77.1 please and see if you can access.
  9. Yes you can!
  10. Did you factory reset after upgrading? If not it would be a good idea to do so as it's a big jump from the previous version
  11. It's not a firmware issue specifically, we're troubleshooting the problem - what firmware version are you on?
  12. Haha sometimes it's just the simplest things! Glad it's working now, thanks for the update.
  13. Disable GeoLatency Disable PingAssist (set it to 0,0) Enable Strict Mode Disable Fast Search Use Simple instead of Custom radius Then restart game or wait 10 minutes (in the lobby in the game). If that doesn't work, reboot PC/Console and it should work then.
  14. Right okay so if I've go this right you have one modem with two routers connected - the R3 just for you and another just for the rest of the house is that right? If so you're dealing with the routing of the modem then the R3 and then all the other devices using the internet that the R3 can't control which isn't ideal. Yes in theory if you throttle both it should limit the amount of lag you get.
  15. Not that I am aware of no, I'll add that to the list. Just don't add them to your priority list and they'll remain unprioritized (assuming you're doing prioritizing by device rather than activities)
  16. I've chased him, thanks for the follow up
  17. It is yes. Under what circumstances was the test done? What website did you use? Have you tried without the R3 to see if you get similar results?
  18. It would be easier to use a web browser on a PC for this but: Disable GeoLatency Disable PingAssist (set it to 0,0) Enable Strict Mode Disable Fast Search Use Simple instead of Custom radius Then restart game or wait 10 minutes (in the lobby in the game). If that doesn't work, reboot PC/Console and it should work then.
  19. We can't get a firmware out before it is ready, likely it will come as Early Access, we're working on it.
  20. Access the interface in a web browser by going to http://192.168.77.1 while connected to the router via WiFi or ethernet, complete the Setup Wizard there and then you'll get internet.
  21. Yes that's how you would have to do it - if you don't want to do that you can just do the console method instead like before
  22. You haven't been scammed, your card was declined and so the order failed, I've responded to you via email
  23. Could you grab the logs from http://192.168.77.1/cgi-bin/logs.txt when this happens please - it should work without access and so should give us a good overall picture of what is happening
  24. No you'd need to change it over when you switch games
  25. What games/platforms are you playing on exactly?
