Limiting connection speed on guest wifi/device
Netduma Fraser replied to kryptik66's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Yeah it does seem to show activities by default but as long as you set it the way I mentioned it will still work for devices. I will pass that on for the team to change though because you're right it's not super clear -
The team are looking into some functions not working properly with the VPN so hopefully we'll get it sorted. What's your need to VPN to a server in your area, would your ping not be lower/more stable by just using the Geo-Filter in this scenario?
-
That's very strange so it'll just work permanently having done it from the app as long as you don't reboot?
-
Do you notice any pattern other than every day e.g. when using a particular device or specific internet traffic etc? How much do the speeds reduce by? Where are you testing the speeds? How are you connected to the R3? Does it happen for ALL devices?

What were your Congestion Control settings exactly? What connection problems in game? -
Night and day in what sense? There is no specific way you need to setup depending on your internet speed. Do what you would normally do on the XR500, experiment with the percentages to find what works best for you. Networking has so many variables that there isn't a one size fits all answer

This will be fixed for the next firmware and will also be off by default

Strange things are starting to happen to my router today
Netduma Fraser replied to Movement's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Have you been playing direct to the modem since I mentioned it to see if you have the same? The latest update has been out for almost a month now so it's unlikely to be that otherwise lots of people would be mentioning it -
We don't give out dates and never do so I can't provide one. We handed it off to NG awhile ago and have been waiting for them to approve it, we thought they released it yesterday but it may be just a security patch so we're checking

XR1000 BETA NEWS?
Netduma Fraser replied to DARKNESS's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Yeah that's my thinking too, I think the team expected they would have released it but they've just done a security update - I'm having the team double check -
Oh yeah they sure do, it's a massive thing! I don't use Brave at the moment but I used to and if definitely helped with YT ads.

You don't need bridge mode, copy the WAN IP from the R2 System Information page and enter that into the Hub DMZ option. Remove the options for the Geo-Filter momentarily, when you've done both does it work better? -
I've given you access, you can find it here: https://forum.netduma.com/forum/144-netduma-r2-early-access/

XR1000 BETA NEWS?
Netduma Fraser replied to DARKNESS's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Supposedly that is potentially the 3.3 build, could you confirm whether that's the case or not, I haven't been able to check. Came out of the blue for me! -

Netduma Fraser replied to Fflint's topic in Netduma R2 Support
What is the model of the modem/router the R2 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R2? E.g. R2 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode What device are you using discord on? Do you have that device added to the Geo-Filter? -
You'll need to use the Simple mode and then try again please

R3 Geo-filter doesn't work for me. I need help.
Netduma Fraser replied to Serbian Gamer's topic in Netduma R3 Support
You should leave it on, keep us posted! -
Apparently that server should actually be in New York - I don't think it's an actual game server though, it may be for authentication purposes instead, in which case the ping to it doesn't matter. We'll get it moved though thanks!

Netduma Fraser replied to Serbian Gamer's topic in Netduma R3 Support
The R3 being in the DMZ on the providers router is fine, it doesn't need to be in bridge. If you remove the PS5 from the DMZ on the R3 does it fix the issue? -
Remove it from the DMZ please and see if you get the same issue
-
Do you have your device in the R3 DMZ or have you got the VPN enabled? Port forwarding rules, Internet Rule for it etc?

Yes exposed host is essentially the same as DMZ, let us know how you get on
