Yes that's correct, although you'll want to set reserved IPs for each device. Are you looking at the logs in Settings or on the System Information page? You'll probably see the same uptime on the System Information page, can you confirm that?

As in you restored a backup? I would only suggest doing that once you've configured everything and made sure there are no errors as otherwise it could bring errors back when you restore

Yes that is possible, sometimes they lock it to the gateway, so in WAN Settings on the R2, set the MAC as the gateway MAC, apply then reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes then check

Ah I see, double check the BGW internet settings to see if it uses PPPoE, VLAN or DHCP identifiers to get internet. If not there may be static IP information you can enter into the R2 instead to get a connection

I think it may be worth contacting your internet provider and asking them whether there is anything you need to do to connect another router to it as it's definitely strange you're unable to get internet

I totally get your disappointment and I'm sure you have taken very good care of it, you've been with us for a very long time so I don't doubt that at all. The router platform wasn't new in 2014 when we decided to use it for the R1 and it has been about 8 years since that point so it's more likely degradation over time. It is unlikely we can do any more to help resolve the issue unfortunately but email [email protected] and we can help with an upgrade to an R2 if that is something you would be interested in, just make sure to include a link to this topic in that email as well.

That looks normal, it's quite possible they have banned the specific server you're trying to use, try a different config for another server and see if that works
