Netduma R3 - Primary Vs Secondary Router
Netduma Fraser replied to Chimdi's topic in Netduma R3 Support
You can do this, just connect the R3 to the Asus - if you want to prevent a double NAT/ensure you get an Open NAT then you'll need to put the R3 WAN IP in the DMZ on the Asus and then that's it! -
If you grab the logs prior to rebooting when it happens that'll help us identify the problem

R3 Inconsistent network activity

Great to hear that, thanks for the update! -
Nothing from us in this one unfortunately!

Connection drops a lot in call of duty 3!!!
Netduma Fraser replied to Maiko Cella's topic in Netduma R2 Support
I suspect they don't have a lot of servers still online so trying to restrict them even further may be preventing/kicking you from available games. If you disable the Geo-Filter does it still happen? -
Will customer support be better if I upgrade to an R3
Netduma Fraser replied to DAVE.COOPERENTLLC's topic in Gamer Talk
The topic I linked gives you all the information that is needed, the video shows you how to upgrade the router. Download https://www.dropbox.com/s/hpeb2w2m4mvmv3q/INTERMEDIARY_FIRMWARE.img?dl=0 Access the router interface Go to Settings > Administration > Firmware Update Upload the firmware file you downloaded Wait for it to complete, can take a few minutes Download https://www.dropbox.com/s/n5nk0fxkhzosvp2/XR500-V2.3.2.134-dumaos33-rc14.img?dl=0 Repeat steps 3 - 5 If step 6 doesn't allow you to upgrade for whatever reason download https://www.dropbox.com/s/mb7hztmwpxnpz2i/XR500-V2.3.2.134-dumaos33-rc10.img?dl=0 Repeat steps 3 - 5 Then complete steps 6 - 7 -
I've sent it to you via PM but would suggest staying on the latest.

R3 Stuck on bootlop first time booting
Netduma Fraser replied to DARKNESS's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Great thanks, I'll leave a message for them to do it tomorrow -
Have you added any new devices to the network or anything like that?

R3 Stuck on bootlop first time booting
Netduma Fraser replied to DARKNESS's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Log is wiped after the reboot, that's why it'll be good to get remote logging so we get the information prior to the issue happening. If you're okay with that I'll get the team to enable it. -
Use Ping Assist, see if you can get them - they may be mislocated on the map but I've not seen many people connect to those servers

What are your Congestion Control settings currently?

No we don't have that. I have 70,000 posts over 10 years which means I average around 600 posts a month. Making the last 3 months just under double what I would normally do which is expected for new hardware/software so it's actually not as much as it seems. I don't think comparing us to companies with billions in the bank and thousands of employees is a fair comparison - we're still a relatively small company. The router is tested of course by us but every connection is different, hence why we beta tested as well. However, it is not realistic to assume that there won't be issues, even Netgear who are massive will have the same. Development is very fluid, I could provide some information today that is no longer relevant tomorrow. I know your intentions are pure, you just want the best and I understand that, unfortunately issues come to light that aren't expected and we just have to figure out what is happening and get it sorted as quickly as possible which is what we're trying to do. In my opinion some of the firmware we have provided since Xmas was rushed and I'm partially to blame for that as I caved to customer pressure so we're not making that same mistake again. We'll take our time and get it right.

The Geo-Filter shows any active connections so if it isn't available at that time for whatever reason you won't see it. It could be a server used when others are under heavy load for example, try at different times of the day and see if you can get it

R3 Inconsistent network activity
Netduma Fraser replied to BL4CK OPS V3TRN's topic in Netduma R3 Support
That looks all fine there. Try this, disable SmartBOOST fully from the menu, reboot, wait 2 minutes, re-enable, reboot, wait 2 minutes then see if it calculates properly please -
At least 3000 of those posts are just mine I believe. It is a new product and also new software, there are bound to be a lot of topics and posts. Even with the R2 launch there were a lot as well. Don't forget you're looking at a support forum, you will only see people posting issues here, it is a small percentage of the people that have an R3. We've never denied there are issues with any product we've worked on, that's why we gather feedback and logs etc so we can work on them. I understand you're frustrated but the team develop all day every day, it's not possible to go faster. If we rush out firmware then more issues could arise, better to take our time to ensure quality.

Does changing the width for 2.4GHz not help with the speed at all? If you could provide the IDs of the servers we can get them moved. Are you waiting a few minutes after blocking for the connection to be severed before searching? If not the connection won't be severed and will persist. That ping is normal, in game includes processing delay, anywhere from 10-30ms in addition is fine, anything above would indicate heavy load.

Trying to Connect with myself ( Multiple Consoles )
Netduma Fraser replied to OGTakeoff95's topic in Gamer Talk
It's not something we can help with, this isn't the purpose of the Geo-Filter so it is not guaranteed to work, also if the game you're playing is server based it's unlikely to work as well. -
It's purpose isn't to beat SBMM but to give you a better gaming experience so if that is your goal then there is no guarantee that would work. For Xbox parties you'd just need to add friends on the Geo-Filter allow list.

R3 Inconsistent network activity
Netduma Fraser replied to BL4CK OPS V3TRN's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Could you check troubleshooting > advanced, how much memory do you have free? Is CPU usage really high? -
The test doesn't saturate your connection so it can't truly reflect what it'll be like, it's an estimate/simulation of what your ping would be like if you were to experience bufferbloat. For a more accurate test I'd suggest using https://support.netduma.com/en/support/solutions/articles/16000074717-how-to-test-your-internet-ping while saturating your connection with downloads. It's best to start with a high value for Congestion Control (on Always), say 95% then do a test, decrease by 10%, test, decrease by 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good and then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved. It's important to note that Download & Upload on Congestion Control don't have to be the same value and that you may have a better experience with differing values. As long as the CPU isn't hitting 100% consistently it shouldn't be causing issues.
