If you use the simple method for SmartBOOST so it's just enable/disable does it work better then?

NEW XR700 BETA FIRMWARE: 3.3.363
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Lew's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
That makes total sense! -
You can absolutely set it up the way you described and the Geo-Filter will still work well!
-
As in you tried to update and you got the error and then rebooting and updating worked? Are you using the Geo-Filter? If so do you notice any spikes on the ping shown there? Yes it should function like the normal filter essentially. Check SmartBOOST isn't prioritizing something else at the time or whether Congestion Control is heavily throttling you. This is a support forum so you will only see issues posted here unfortunately, compared to the customer base it's a small percentage. How are you rebooting exactly? What settings are reverting? What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g. R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode It's the same as the previous version really but you can just adjust Congestion Control manually which is what Ping Optimizer does. Unlikely, it'll take a couple of days at least I suspect. Good to know! More work will be done on PO, it wasn't a focus for this update

Are you referring to Bandwidth Allocation and the Network Monitor? Bandwidth Allocation doesn't prioritize a device, you're just allocating bandwidth, by default devices can still use bandwidth if they don't have an allocation. Gaming also doesn't use much bandwidth, setting it to 100 won't make it use any more than is needed. For the Network Monitor, you'll still see devices using the internet but as you've done a Traffic Prioritization rule your console will be prioritized above everything else.

XR1000 Login Page issues
Netduma Fraser replied to Zordrak's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Right click the page, then go to Inspect (Element), on the window that appears click on the Network tab. Then click the checkbox to disable cache. Then click and hold the browser refresh button, and click Empty Cache and Hard Reload. Then see if it loads correctly please. -
It has been requested so it will likely come in future, I will ask the team to see if they can get it in the next one if it's a small job.

NEW XR700 BETA FIRMWARE: 3.3.363
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Lew's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Traffic Prioritization supersedes QoS and that's why it can affect the tests but no it won't cause you bufferbloat having a prioritization rule enabled, it's better to have it enabled and QoS will still work -
Uninstall the app then reinstall it and it'll work then
-
Based on the above information you have two options: Enter the PPPoE details into the R3 in Settings > WAN - change the connection type to PPPoE. Save then reboot the R3 and you'll have internet Connect back the Home Hub and connect the R3 to it and you should get internet To find the PPPoE details you can connect BT or if you access the home hub it may have the details there in its internet settings. Of course you can still return it if you don't wish to do any of this.

That's odd, is your PS5 connected in a different way to theirs, e.g. yours is connected via ethernet with theirs being on WiFi etc?

If we were to have phone support we would not be able to grow properly as a company, we'd spend the majority of the day helping a few vs the many we can help using the forum and socials etc. A router is a complex product, it has to connect and work with 1000's of internet providers, 1000's of modems, unfortunately it's not always possible for a customer to have a plug and play experience, it may take a little longer to get it up and running and that's what we're here to help with. You can email [email protected] to pursue a return/refund, I'm the head of tech support.

Bufferbloat and in game stutter with R3
Netduma Fraser replied to Aylinka's topic in Netduma R3 Support
It may disconnect you briefly doing that but they should reconnect -
Do you have a router the internet provider has given you? What were you using for WiFi before the R3? It's highly likely you need PPPoE details which you would need to get from your internet provider. In the meantime reboot the modem, wait 2 minutes then reboot the R3, wait 4 minutes then see if you get internet. We don't provide immediate responses but we'll reply as soon as we're able to.
-
Give it a reboot and then you should be able to upgrade it without issue
-
We don't do telephone support, we're only a small company, click advanced WAN Settings skip and then continue the wizard until completed. Do you know if you require anything for an internet connection such as PPPoE/VLAN etc? Is it connected to your existing modem/router or are you trying to replace it?
-
Have you accessed the interface and completed the Setup Wizard? You will need to do this to get internet

NEW XR700 BETA FIRMWARE: 3.3.363
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Lew's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Disable Traffic Prioritization and see whether those tests then reflect the changes. It will get fixed but I don't have a timeline for it -
Apparently there is an Advanced > Security page where you can potentially change the DMZ - it's a good option as above
-
With the R3 in its DMZ port forwarding is unneeded, have you checked directly connected to the ISP router whether you get an Open NAT?
-
We do updates all the time but they also become outdated very quickly as well so it's a constant battle. 100% priority how did you do this? What do you mean other devices take the prioritization?

I feel like i'm 1s behind everybody
Netduma Fraser replied to Ganerineur's topic in Call of Duty Support
That would indicate it's a problem with your modem/ISP or just the game itself then unfortunately -
It's unlikely to be the ISP, thank you for the logs, I'll pass that on and the team can take a look.
-
It's not dependent on the set location, just where you're located, resync the cloud, may show more correctly then

R3 Stuck on bootlop first time booting
Netduma Fraser replied to DARKNESS's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Well that is controlling the buffer, if your average is 25ms and you set it to 30ms you're setting a 5ms buffer. There is more work to be done on the feature so it will become more robust.
