I'd suggest making a new topic with the settings you're using and the average ping you're seeing etc and we can help
-
The news would be us posting firmware, other than that we don't announce any firmware releases. As far as I know there hasn't been any further progress, I will chase though.

Force of habit! How often is the speed slowing down and when that is happening what else is happening on the network at the time?
-
I mean in theory that could make sense, however, you'd need just over 250 devices that have connected to the router, is that accurate? Glad it's not come around again though, thanks for the update!

It's not that simple, you can't just utilize their product in your paid product, that opens you up to a lawsuit and given Netflix own the website I don't think we'd win that one! As far as I can tell they don't have any information about implementing it into other products so I don't think it's possible.

Xr1000 cc not working with pppoe connection?

The firewall is still active, it's just less restrictive -
Xr1000 cc not working with pppoe connection?
Netduma Fraser replied to Gkear's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Yes they will work direct to the ONT. Copy the hub MAC address then set the XR to use that MAC, reboot and you may get better speeds after that. -
Could you disable IPv6 on their router and the R3, reboot then check again please?
-
Bridge mode wouldn't work either in this scenario, the solutions are: Switch ISP to one that doesn't use it Pay them for a static public IP Potentially a VPN may help

It could well be that you have this new hybrid CG-NAT I've been hearing about which may explain why it's working sometimes and then not working at other times. Do the CG-NAT test at the bottom of this guide ONLY when you're experiencing the double/strict NAT https://support.netduma.com/en/support/solutions/articles/16000076587-dumaos-optimal-settings-guide-open-nat

One day of ownership - wifi drop outs, slow speed.
Netduma Fraser replied to Danmc17's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Thank you! Disconnects is something the team are taking as a big priority, out of interest do any of these apply to you: Use of a network switch Use of very long ethernet cables Initiating a large download prior to the disconnect? -
Are you using the simple or expert mode? It will raise your ping in order to cover any spikes, I suspect if the ping is that high that you're getting spikes that it needs to get that high to cover it. This is how it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IElhhEi70Pg

Check settings > WAN for the .39 IP

I've responded to your topic

Let us know how you get on! Zli has it right, experimenting with settings is the best thing to do, we can tell you what we think but everyone has different setups/connections, what may work for the majority may not work for you and vice versa.
-
Thanks for the info, the team are treating this as a priority so I'm sure it'll be resolved soon. Feel free to post in that disconnect topic if needed!

Xr1000 cc not working with pppoe connection?
Netduma Fraser replied to Gkear's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Are ALL devices connected to the XR? I can't see what mode you have set for Congestion Control but make sure it is always. I'd suggest testing with downloads while following: https://bit.ly/bufferbloat-test start with a high value e.g 95%, test, decrease 10%, test, decrease 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good, then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved. Important to note that Download/Upload on CC don't have to be the same value & you may have a better experience with differing values. This is more of a real world test as you're actually doing traffic you would normally do. In regards to PingPlotter you will see a lot of packet loss at 1 second interval, set it back to the default 2.5 and then only focus on the bottom graph not individual hops and see if you get packet loss there, if you don't then that's great. Switch NAT to Open in WAN Settings and see if you get better speeds that way. -
If the above link doesn't help please provide the config you're using
-
Based on your previous screenshots what you've done is correct: You've set the R3 a static IP so that shouldn't change rendering the DMZ useless You've entered it in the DMZ That's literally as simple as it should be - check the IP on the R3 does it still end in .39 or has it changed? Only other thing to do to check when you get that double NAT is to put the Xbox in the DMZ on the R3 and see if it then becomes open.
-
What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g. R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode Have you set your expected bandwidth/speeds into the router? How have you setup QoS/Congestion Control? Can you provide a screenshot of the page please?

HybridVPN on XR450 no longer loading
Netduma Fraser replied to dissonant's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
No worries, yeah always a good shout as you can keep your settings then. -
You can do either really, the difference would be minimal but generally, the less hops the better so connecting it direct to the ONT would be ideal!

DumaOS is not running!
Netduma Fraser replied to yerisox's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
That's good to hear, thanks for the update! -
Yes it is a known issue, I believe you've seen the topic/have access to it in Early Access. So far things we have found in common with people experiencing it are: Using a network switch Using a long ethernet cable Downloading a large file If any of those apply and if you're able to counteract them it may resolve the issue. We don't know for sure what is causing it yet but the team are making good progress.

You can't specifically block a server type - also nowadays most games actually use servers so it's likely the peers are misclassified and are actually servers.
