What are the chances Anti-Spike and Anti-Jitter are part of the 4 unveiled features? Iain must have been working on those for like 5 years now, and the lab results he showed lots of years ago where quite promising already.

DAKOTADOCKALL reacted to Netduma Alex in ANNOUNCEMENT: DUMAOS 3.0 IS HERE
Hi all,
You should get an email to confirm that your sign-up was successful. If you want me to make sure you're on the list, send me a DM and i'll check for you.
Netgear will be handling the beta on their models, so it will be up to them to send out beta firmware for those.
I'd like to thank you all for your enthusiasm and also for your patience. As Luke said, we'll start the rollout slowly and pick up the pace if no huge problems occur.
We're also not done making announcements yet, there's more features still under wraps!

DAKOTADOCKALL reacted to Netduma Luke in ANNOUNCEMENT: DUMAOS 3.0 IS HERE
Hi Everyone,
Today we are delighted to announce that signups for the DumaOS 3.0 beta are now open - this will be gradually rolled out to everyone who signs up, over time.
This is a big step. It means that after many months of hard work, we are now ready for you guys to begin testing 3.0 on your DumaOS powered routers.
What is in DumaOS 3.0?
It’s named 3.0 for a reason. It marks the next generation of DumaOS, our router operating system. Not only will 3.0 come with a whole bunch of new features for your router, we have also overhauled a tonne of things under the hood which will make it far easier for us to get new features to you in the future.
So far, we have announced four of the eight major features coming in 3.0. You can read more about each of them here:
Geo-Fencing: draw multiple Geo-Filters of any shape around your favourite server banks Application QoS: prioritize the traffic that matters the most to you by allocating bandwidth by application type e.g. gaming, streaming etc. Connection Benchmark: run a pure test of your Internet line to find out how stable your ping is and if you are getting your full bandwidth speeds Traffic Controller: block any applications, ports or devices from accessing the Internet. Feature 5: Announcing Soon Feature 6: Announcing Soon Feature 7: Announcing Soon Feature 8: Announcing Soon Further feature reveals will be posted on our blog here: https://netduma.com/blog/
How do I Signup?
Netduma R1 owners - go here: https://netduma.com/dumaos-3-0-signup-for-netduma-r1/
Nighthawk Pro Gaming users (XR300, XR450, XR500, XR700) - go here: http://www.netgearinnovation.com/dumaos-beta/index.html
When will I get the beta?
When making a major software update like 3.0, it's normal for things to not be perfect at the start. So as much as we would love each and every one of you to get your hands on 3.0 right now, it would be risky for us to do it in one go.
Instead we will be phasing the roll-out, starting off with a small number of testers. Once things are looking good, we will add some more, then more, gradually increasing until everyone who has signed up has received the upgrade.
When we are ready for you to join the beta you will get an email into your inbox with instructions on how to join. Please be patient - we will email you when we are ready.
Finally...
We want to thank you for your support and patience during the development of 3.0. We are very aware that it has taken time. But it really has been worth it. It has allowed us to take DumaOS to the next level. Work is already underway on 3.1 and we're working on some seriously big features that will give you even more control over your lag and your network.
We hope you have fun testing 3.0.
The ND Team

I can confirm we are building 3.0 for the Netduma R1. A lot of effort is going into ensuring it does not consume too much CPU and memory. Thanks for your support

DAKOTADOCKALL reacted to Netduma Iain in DumaOS Developer Q&A
No sorry it has not. We will investigate soon.
Ok I think I understand what you mean. You'd like to take multiple parameters describing a host and let the user use a heuristic to decide if the host is allowed or not. Then allow different heuristics for different games. You're already kinda of doing this with the combination of ping-assist and Geo-filtering. Problem with other metrics like traceroute (hop-count) is they are very flaky as not all core routers respond to them also it is a very slow operation so if we were to do it it'd need to be running the background all the time.
See my prior response to Zennon about player-filtering. In regard to kicking a player out, in a server based game you can't do that you can only kick yourself out by blocking the connection. Hope that helps.
See my prior response to Zennon please.
We don't need any right now but please submit your interest by emailing [email protected] and the team will get back to you in due course
Sorry mate I'm not sure what you mean? Are you asking for DMZ on the router, if so that will be in the next DumaOS release Thanks for the kind words!
Netgear is a public company so we can't comment on anything about them as it is literally illegal as it could impact share price. So all my comments in this thread are regarding DumaOS.
Thanks for the suggestions on security. We're aware that is a big area for customers and we do want to bring something offerings to you at some point. But we're not currently developing that. On IPv6 you've already contacted us about this via email, we will add this in due course but our current goal is to bring new features. Remember IPv6 routing does work just some of the features don't. But rest assured it is coming soon.
The details of QoS is different on different platforms (we use fq-codel, codel and our own algo for bufferbloat). Kudos to David Taht for codel implementation btw. But remember that is only a 1/3 of our current QoS solution Watch this space....
As mentioned earlier themes will be coming soon to DumaOS. They are actually already on milestone 1.3 but are buggy so we pulled the plug on them, they should be available soon.
Also one thing to clarify, any LAN traffic should only need wireless QoS as it does not actually reach the routers CPU when using the switch.
VLAN should be in next DumaOS release
Yes that is being implemented.
Right so temporary ban being the key. Gotcha thanks for the feedback.
Can't comment on NG. And for the foresseable future we will push updates via firmware as simplify matters. But some day it would be cool to not do that....

Could DumaOS have some sort of Ping Plotter built in? If so that would be great! Also could we have some sort of game server status to check if servers are online or offline?

Nothing stopping us doing this - so it's good to know you'd be interested in a new router from us.

Is there any plans for a Duma only router (R2) or is this not allowed due to conflicting interest due to partnership with Netgear, reason I ask is because fimwares could be released faster than currently

DAKOTADOCKALL reacted to Zennon in DumaOS Developer Q&A
Is there a way that you can see the pings of the players in a lobby before the game starts and we can set a max player ping per lobby, so if it at a range of say a max of 60ms and a player was connected at 75ms to that lobby it would kick us back so we can search again.
High ping players are the bain of cod it throws the sync right out of the window, this feature would be a god send to me.

DAKOTADOCKALL reacted to Netduma Jack in DumaOS Developer Q&A
Hi Duma Army, and welcome to the first Developer Q&A thread!
This your chance to ask the team about the current development and exciting future of DumaOS. Our developers will answer you directly as soon as they can (though this won't be live).
Before we begin, lets get the caveats out of the way:
- Keep it on topic: If you have technical issues with your router this isn't the place to get support. We'll be redirecting and deleting irrelevant posts to keep this thread on topic.
- Keep it civil: Trolling, name-calling or general rudeness will not be tolerated on this thread. Please choose your words carefully and adhere to the forum rules to avoid suspension.
- Keep it brief: Our developers are hard at work and their time is precious. They will try to answer every question they can, but they might not be able to answer every one - especially if your question is two pages long! Spam will not be tolerated.
DumaOS development is driven by your feedback, so we're super excited to hear from you all. If this goes well we may host more Q&A sessions in the future. Fire away with any questions you have and a developer will answer as soon as possible!

DAKOTADOCKALL reacted to BIG__DOG in DumaOS Developer Q&A
When will there be themes added to the "Themes" tab on dumaOS? Although I am not a colour-blind sufferer I do know that the red spectrum cannot be recognised by certain colour blind sufferers. I have mentioned this on other occasions which is why I would really like to see alternative theme colours for such users.
