  1. I'll check in with the team on how they're getting on
  2. Bandwidth Allocation isn't realistically going to do much for your lag experience, with Share Excess enabled anyway your gaming device will get the bandwidth it needs (which isn't much for a game) and giving it more won't make it use more. For QoS to have noticeable impacts in game, Congestion Control & Traffic Prioritization should be the ones to focus on, when you've got those down it'll keep your ping stable.
  3. No it shouldn’t cause any problems, give it a go and see how you get on
  4. Best thing to do would be to set Congestion Control to 100% & Never and also disable Traffic Prioritization.
  5. If you have multiple devices connected then QoS would still be advised. If you want to monitor your ping to the game then the Geo-Filter would still be helpful, even to check if the game server is under load. Connection Benchmark would be could to keep an eye on your connection.
  6. Click WAN Setup, then click skip and complete the rest of the Setup Wizard until you get to the interface. Once done, reboot the modem, wait 2 minutes then reboot the R2 from the interface (3 dots top right of the interface), wait 2 minutes then access, do you have internet then? If not, what is the model of the modem/router the R2 is connected to? Do you know if you require PPPoE, VLAN, DHCP identifiers etc to get internet?
  7. You're welcome! Nothing special, that's exactly right, it's just like upgrading manually, just with an older firmware file. Here is the link to the one I mentioned: https://kb.netgear.com/000062867/XR500-Firmware-Version-2-3-2-114 No worries at all, always best to ask if you're not sure, that's what we're here for!
  8. Generally when set to a console for the best filtering experience manual should be selected but if that is working for you that's great! It should detect the gaming traffic if it's set to a PC as well. It seems that as your timezone was out of sync that it caused the cloud databases to not be downloaded properly which threw off the Geo and detection of traffic as it wasn't operating with the latest information available. In case you're wondering the ping on the Geo-Filter is lower than what you see in game as that is your ping directly to the server, there will be processing delay that all games have - not all choose to include it in their ping calculation, if they don't it will be the same as the Geo ping, if they do it will be higher, generally 10-30ms higher is expected. Any higher can indicate the server is under load.
  9. Thanks for that, it appears ours match from the half dozen I checked so that's good. Could you do this whole process again please: Quit the application/game/client completely - so including from the System Tray on the PC Remove device from the Geo-Filter Give PC PlayStation Device Type in the Device Manager Resync from the Geo-Filter Map menu Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter with the manual option Set up the Geo-Filter how you like Wait 2 minutes Boot up application/game/client then see if it works.
  10. Could you do it with the side panel open so I can see the IPs please? If the IPs are different then it can indicate that you're on an older version.
  11. Most games are server based, you just need to to connect to the server, you don't need ping assist high to connect to players - you don't make a direct connection to them. Having Ping Assist so high could allow you onto any server below that limit which isn't what you want when trying to specifically force a certain area/server. By allow in this instead I just mean allowing you to connect, not specifically adding to the allow list. Your friend must have been lucky because it's definitely not the right way to force a server.
  12. Don't use WiFi, just use ethernet during troubleshooting for the moment, what do you physically see after putting http://192.168.77.1 into your web browser? Also please try another browser as Safari forces HTTPS which won't work well with the interface.
  13. Could you resync the cloud on heatmap and then provide a screenshot of a completed ping for Fortnite please?
  14. What do you mean nothing happens when you plug in direct - what does it show when trying to access? Unplug the router from power for 10 minutes, plug in, wait 2 minutes then hold reset for 30 seconds, release, wait 2 minutes then attempt access again please
  15. In theory both methods pass traffic straight through to the R2, there is no difference in the way the R2 would behave with it, I know some implementations of bridge mode can be questionable and DMZ works better. If the only difference is bridge/DMZ and you haven't changed any settings on the R2 between the tests then bridge will be the issue.
  16. Thanks for that, the entries are more like what I would expect to see after you corrected the timezone, could you check the Geo-Filter now? If not, then please, can you do the Ping Heatmap step so I can compare the versions.
  17. Yes that's the plan! Yes we're working on it! I don't want to guarantee it just in case anything has to be changed at the last minute but that is the plan
  18. When did this start to occur? What happens exactly when you access the interface?
  19. How long did it take for you to hit 0 after the reboot? Are you using Armor, Adblocker, Traffic Controller rules etc? Could you provide the log file when you get these issues with connectivity please?
  20. If you're trying to force a server you should not be using Ping Assist, you're basically saying allow me onto any server up to 200ms. The game detects that you have a lower ping to Europe and will try to put you there if possible. You should put Ping Assist to 0, fast search should also be off, radius/polygon over the US server you want then search.
  21. It might not say it in the logs on the Settings pages but should say it on the System Information page, even if it's not saying anything after can you grab it for me? Also if you do the Ping Heatmap step I can compare and check whether it has/hasn't downloaded from the cloud.
  22. Sorry I meant resync, flush was old wording for that feature, did you get the logs from Settings rather than the System Information page? Can you do the Ping Heatmap step so I can compare it to mine please
  23. Did you flush the cloud before getting the logs? I don't see anything there relating to it. Also can you do the Ping Heatmap step so I can compare it to mine please
  24. Downgrade to .114, factory reset, then re-upgrade to .134 but don't factory reset and that will resolve it. It's an issue we have fixed for the next version.
  25. CoD is what 90% of our customer base play so we'd definitely know about it if there was an issue that affected everyone. Could you resync the cloud and then grab the log file from the System Information page and post it here please? I'm wondering if it's actually failing to download the cloud update - that is something that someone had before. Also could you resync the cloud on heatmap and then provide a screenshot of a completed ping for Fortnite please? The team haven't been able to look into it yet, earliest would be Monday if they have the time.
