There could be a multitude of reasons: Where are you located approximately? What area are you covering with the Geo-Filter? Can you provide a screenshot of your QoS page please? What is the model of the modem/router the XR is connected to and how have you set that up with the XR - modem/bridge mode, DMZ etc? Are ALL devices connected to the XR?
-
What you have done is correct. There is no need to make any changes to DHCP as it will not affect your connection quality at all.

No need to make multiple topics, let's continue here: https://forum.netduma.com/topic/40137-dhcp-help-r2-ps5/

Put the Zyxel in router mode, have it handle PPPoE, then disable PPPoE on the XR, copy the WAN IP from the System Information page and put that in the DMZ on the Zyxel. Then connect ALL your devices to the XR and it will be better after that.

It's always worth checking, sometimes there is an option here or there someone hasn't changed that can make all the difference. What is the model of the modem/router the XR is connected to? Are ALL devices connected to the XR?

Just to clarify, you're not having any issues specifically, just looking for the best settings? I would recommend having a look through our optimal settings guides: https://support.netduma.com/en/support/solutions/folders/16000090646 Have you put the R2 in the DMZ on your ISP modem/router?

Can you provide a screenshot of your QoS page please? Did you disable mirror mode, any other WiFi settings changed?

Geo-Filter not able to access cloud
Netduma Fraser replied to JTR's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
That's progress! We need to update the cloud so that could be why but also make sure you're not accessing the interface using HTTPS (sound browsers may try to force it) as it can cause that error -
Did you follow the guide for maximum bandwidth speeds? What did you change prior to the WiFi not working?
-
So basically, the CoD servers don't respond to typical pings, they also change the servers/IPs that they use quite frequently so when they change we can no longer ping the old ones with our ping workaround so then we need to re-check and update to show the current servers/IPs. It won't affect the Geo-Filter because it sees all available connections when you launch the game so you can still join any you like.
-
If you're doing the QoS steps then in order to eliminate bufferbloat to give you the best connection speeds will be reduced - you can set to Auto-Enable so it only happens when gaming and when you're not you'll get full speeds
-
Ping Heatmap only pings servers - it doesn't mean you can't connect to them, just that you can't ping those specific IP addresses because we need to update it to show the latest IPs/servers they are using. The Geo-Filter however can see all the IPs/servers/connections and does not rely on Ping Heatmap so you can connect to servers you don't see on Ping Heatmap. What is the issue you're seeing on the Geo-Filter page itself?

Destiny 2 and Geo-Filter
Netduma Fraser replied to corden's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Have a look at the map when you get kicked, there should be something blocked, add that to the allow list and it should let you in -
We'll get that sorted, Ping Heatmap just pings servers so you'll still be able to connect to them using the Geo-Filter - what is happening with the Geo-Filter exactly?
-
Resync the cloud in the Ping Heatmap menu then re-ping the game, do they show up then?
-
No you don't need to use port forwarding in that instance
-
When introducing new hardware is can take a few days for your connection to 'get used' to it, and then the speeds should return. I'd recommend having a good look through our optimal settings guides, that will give you a lot of information and insight on how to best use the router: https://support.netduma.com/en/support/solutions/folders/16000090646 any questions let us know!

I don't think this would be a router issue, all devices other than one and all sites other than one are fine, able to take as much bandwidth as they need so the router seems to be doing it's job. It is odd that a browser change makes no difference - could you try connecting your PC to your mobile data/hotspot and see if YouTube has the same issue?
-
You can factory reset them but it would keep them on the same firmware, you would have to manually downgrade with the oldest firmware file of the two. I don't think it would be necessary to go all the way back. Sign up for early access here: https://forum.netduma.com/topic/39415-introducing-early-access/ and then you can try the R2 firmware there, followed by a factory reset to see if it is more stable for you.

New XR1000 dropping internet over LAN
Netduma Fraser replied to mfielding's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Some people do prefer to stay on a particular firmware version if they feel it is more stable for them, it's not too unusual. What is the model of the modem/router the XR is connected to and how do you have it set to give devices on the XR an Open NAT - modem mode, DMZ etc? Sometimes that error can occur when the router can't connect with our cloud server due to the modem/router blocking it in some way. So on the interface, go to Settings, then on the page that opens you should see LAN Settings on the left menu, then for ending IP address, change the last number to 49. -
Geo-Filter not able to access cloud
Netduma Fraser replied to JTR's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Were there any settings changes, an upgrade, reboot, physical setup change that you can think of prior to the errors occurring? -
Geo-Filter not able to access cloud
Netduma Fraser replied to JTR's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Interesting, do you have another router you could put in front of the XR to handle PPPoE/VLAN? If so then put the XR in that router DMZ and then see if the issues persist after a reboot please. -
New XR1000 dropping internet over LAN
Netduma Fraser replied to mfielding's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Welcome to the forum! Did you do a factory reset after upgrading? If not that's possibly the cause of the issues you had. In LAN Settings, set the DHCP range to start at .50, then assign reserved IP addresses to devices between .2 & .49 so they're out of the DHCP range, apply, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes and see if that stops the disconnects.
