Don't open the file on the PC, you access the interface and do the upgrade from there - click the 3 dots icon in the top right of the interface

im not sure how exactly you access the interface. Sorry im like the slowest person in the world when it comes to tech lol

the reason im downloading the firmware is because whenever i try to use my netduma r2 via van cable, it connects for a couple seconds and then will just randomly disconnect and continue to do the same thing over and over again. When i am connected to my modem via lan cable directly to my computer my internet is completely fine but wont let me access the 192.168.77.1

No worries, typing 192.168.77.1 into the web browser is the way to access the interface, but you have to be connected to the R2 to do so, it won't work if you have the PC connected to the modem. I will respond in your topic about not being able to access momentarily.

@Netduma Fraser @Netduma Liam R2 is back up and running. I plugged it in and I gained access to the gui, I am worried about doing a pinhole reset and it locks me out again.

Glad to hear that, when you do a reset next time do it from the interface first and it should be alright after that

Hello,

I put a manageable switch behind the R2 because I consider that a router is made for routing, a switch for switching and an AP for wifi.

I was unable to get an automatic ip address behind the R2 for my switch despite giving it a static ip address on the R2's DHCP!

I managed to access the switch administration page only by managing it on my main router! I was then able to put a static ip on the DHCP of the R2 and finally behind the R2 I was able to access its administration page!

As above the switch does not get an ip address!

@Fuzy are devices connected to the switch getting internet? What is the switch model? If you reboot the switch does it get an IP then?

The peripherals have internet behind the switch no problem.

Netgear GS105V2

No ip on the dhcp of the R2 after restarting the R2 and the switch!

Could you disable the switch energy efficient ethernet, then reboot it and see if it works please?

It is disabled by default!

R2 was fine till i updated to this firmware, now i cannot login.

Hold the reset button in the back of the router for 30 seconds, release, wait 2 minutes then attempt access with the default credentials admin / password

2.4 and 5ghz wifi not appearing on network for some reason? full factory reset just updated to this software from the last one

Connect via ethernet, disable WiFi entirely, apply, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes, enable WiFi, apply, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes and then it should be a lot more stable going forward.

@BIG__DOG I think you'll have to do a factory reset again, it's the only way out of this really, hold it as hard as you can for 30 seconds, release, wait 2 minutes and try again. You could try leaving it unplugged from power for 24 hours as well as that does sometimes bring it back to life.

thank you its work with me

Hi,

Ever since applying this update, whenever I reboot the router remotely, non of my devices can connect unless I reset the modem. And it takes a loooong time. Any fixes?

How are you rebooting the router remotely exactly as that's not something specifically supported - is it by turning the power on/off? If so that's probably why, it should be rebooted from the interface. Also modems/routers can be picky about the way and order in which they are rebooted. I'd suggest rebooting the modem first, wait 2 minutes, then reboot the router, wait 2 minutes and it should work.

Just upgraded + factory reset all is well.

Will there be any further optimisation of the ui in the next release to make it snappy as possible or are we at peak loading times?

cheers

If there is anymore to do we will certainly try, is it particularly slow in places for you? If so what web browser/device are you using, is it on the whole interface or specific pages?

Sorry for being vague. I meant to say that I was rebooting from the interface. In the past the internet would come back up immediately but now it never comes back unless I reboot the modem.

So not rebooting remotely? There is nothing specifically that was changed that would affect that at all, once the team are back they can take a look at this though we may have another firmware on the way in early jan
