That's exactly what would occur if they're mislocated, we'll be doing more work for the game that'll be included in the next firmware so should be better then

dpk_ydv reacted to Netduma Alex in NEW R3 FIRMWARE - 4.0.219
    Hi everyone,
The wait is over, we're happy to deliver the latest R3 firmware. It contains months of work from our development team, with a big focus on improving the stability and reliability of our features.
    Main Changes:
Hybrid VPN is here: this is long standing Netduma feature which allows you to run your VPN through your router and then choose which devices or applications the VPN should be applied to. This means you can run your VPN on things that usually hard run a VPN on, such as Smart TVs and consoles. Hybrid VPN is compatible with OpenVPN and WireGuard, so make sure your VPN provider supports one of these protocols. Added UPnP Relay. Previously, if your R3 was connected underneath an ISP router, you'd likely see a Double NAT reported on your games console unless you did some manual port forwarding. UPnP Relay pushes port opening requests from your devices up the chain to your ISP router, meaning you should get an open NAT with no additional configuration needed Some users reported issues with Chromecast or Airplay, or transferring files locally. These are fully fixed now. Many quality of life / annoying bugs fixed, including improved IPv6 and PPPoE support, increasing the reliability of the Geo-Filter ping graph and increasing the reliability of the Ping Optimiser test (with further improvements to come) A longer changelog is below.
We want the Netduma R3 to be the best router in the world, and we're taking another step towards that goal with this firmware. We'll continue working on and releasing updates, so please give us any feedback you have.

    INSTALL GUIDE
You can install the firmware using one-click update. Simply open up DumaOS and look for the green "Update Available" icon.
Alternatively, you can download the file below, then go to Settings > Troubleshooting > Upload Firmware, then upload the file.

Exactly as above, Ping Assist is essentially an option that allows you to not miss out on any servers if they're low ping/below the value you set, regardless of where they are

Ping assist bypasses strict mode. If you have a value set for ping assist that isn't zero (Ping Assist Off) the geofilter will not block servers outside of your radius with that ping value or range. I hope this makes sense.

bro, it’s ExitLag not ChinaDemocracyTunnelTrustMe.  It’s a very known and widely used service across a ton of games.  Not all of us feel concerned about having every bit of traffic encrypted, hence why lower ping Tunneling services such as ExitLag and WTFast exist.  I do not wish to harm your VPN functionality, so please stop taking the suggestion to add ExitLag on Netduma as an attack on your personal beliefs.  I have a degree in Cybersecurity, this tool is not a threat to personal security unless youre concerned about your own activities on the internet and arent savvy enough to realize a VPN is better suited in regards to those activities.

You could even choose to make VPN work on all your devices but your gaming console, and likely designate the console as the only one using Exitlag the way the R3 is designed.

@adroI am getting regular pings to Singapore & HK from India, no issues.

I thought I was the only one going nuts about the sweat levels in HK & SG servers. Even the non SBMM modes like war feel extremely drenched in sweat in these two regions.

Yeah, same case with me. I got MW3 on PC & PS5, and disabling crossplay on PS5 also disables it on PC (I only find PC lobbies), and matchmaking takes much longer

Just a simple heads up and I know it sounds dumb but it’s true. I bought a Ps5 slim bundle so ended up with mw3 on xbox and ps. If you disable cross play on ps5 to avoid the pc sweats you will probably face long matchmaking times on the other platforms. I flip flop between both consoles on mw3 as it has cross save as well and after disabling cross play I faced this issue. I didn’t put 2 and 2 together at the time but noticed I had been getting way long matchmaking times recently on xbox. Upon researching and finding a video explaining it I enabled cross play and it fixed matchmaking times back to very short wait times on xbox. Probably rare that someone swaps between consoles but maybe this can help someone if they experience this. Has to be a bug but looks like it dates back to modern warfare 2019.

Even I am getting high pings to ME servers from here in India. I would average around 35-40ms, now its 200+ms, and for Singapore, I would ping 52-58ms, now its 65ms+

In my opinion this is because AWS is adding additional datacenter in Middle East. Check this link. AWS is adding more datacenters in places like Israel, Oman etc.,, so things might take time to stabilise back to normal. This  is what had happened when they added UAE datacenter.

Not many people are into gaming here, it would be economically unviable for Activision to have datacenter in this region.

dpk_ydv reacted to East in Modern Warfare II Thread
I make this thread with some level of reservation.  As it is unclear how those who are actually decent at the game will be EOMM'd.  Which has a tendency to mimic network problems.
However, it will not be long before (in a few weeks) the 1st beta starts and I wanted to create a thread in which discussion can be had on game play impressions regarding:
    Hit Registration
    Input latency
    Movement Speeds
    Responsiveness
More importantly, will you be playing on dedicated servers or peer-to-peer?  To name a few.
Most importantly it's not clear what technical strides were made with the game's net code.  Will it be no different then prior COD games or has things gotten better or worst?  Will we see
120hz tick rate servers in MP/Warzone?
What kind of pings are you seeing while playing during peak hours?
Are you experiencing "Strict SBMM" not allowing you to move throughout the map?
Are you seeing the same players even though lobbies are disbanding?
Can you play splitscreen with family/friends?
Can you play with your family on the same router/modem?
Can you play with friends on your friends list?
These are but a few of the questions that will be of value to COD veterans who plan on getting this game.  I am sure there are others.
    Until then, take care.

dpk_ydv reacted to Bert in A Claim Is Made That Reverse Boosting Fixes Hit Rego, Lag Comp, Etc In Cod
I think it's a bit far fetched, at least that influencing speed and hitreg is done on purpose.

Is the game rigged? Well yes. If you haven't played for say a month and you play your first game you will stomp the enemy no problem as the game's matchmaking algo is reset. Then after a few games it ups the ante until you start doing average.

Matchmaking this way induces several issues, one is that it takes longer to match up and the other that the higher skilled playerpool is geographically more diverse, so you get a lot more latency variation. That also means that you will see more issues with hit registration as the server applies it's latency balancing system more aggressively. I have tested this in the past playing on the same server, where sometimes you would get hitmarkers in 1-2 frames and other times in 4-5 frames, ie sometimes it took 66ms to get a hitmarker on a 40ms server while other times it took 133ms to get a hitmarker.

The whole issue with CoD is that it is inherently a very low skill game, possibly the lowest skill game on the market, at least the last few iterations after the advanced movement era. if you pay attention to positioning and your angles you can easily find success. If you consider skill as a bell curve, most seasoned players will be slightly to the right of the mean distribution. That means there is a large group that is only slightly above average. If you would match randomly, there is a good chance that you have a lot more success as you can beat them on raw skill, ie play more offensive without regard to positioning etc. This goes away when EOMM/SBMM is tightened as now it's forcing you into that style.

There is also the perception. If you play bots you would not notice the variation in hit registration much as you win the gunfight anyway. But if you are in your own skill group, you face players that react just as fast and employ the same tactics as you would so it magnifies the situations where you think you should have won the fight but you didn't. Because the other guy might have been slightly faster but it didn't show on your screen.

If you are in the slightly above average group you will also find people with better equipment, scuf controllers, better routers, playiing on monitors etc.

Yes you can do that and it will have the same effect. The DMZ though has the extra benefit that it bypasses the firewall and so there is less routing involved.

dpk_ydv reacted to East in Traffic Prioritization Settings: Modern Warefare (BO4)
This thread (and others) is created to assist those who are having chronic hit rego and lag movement issues in which the game is simply not enjoyable.   It was determined that there are port ranges that need to be placed in traffic prioritization that are not listed by the games developers.  The point to this is that by prioritizing those ports one would have better hit registration and overall better fluidity in the game(s) you play.
The information provided to you is not a final on the research presented so far.  Furthermore, testing is ongoing.  It take this community as a whole to help gather more data/input to determine what works and what doesn't.  Please keep that in mind when reading this thread.  Thanks
Ok here is a list of ports you want to test for Traffic Prioritization as discussed in this thread:
    1. Reboot modem.  Next reboot your router (if you don't have any double nat issues if you do go to step 2, 1st).
    2. Make sure you don't have double NAT (google how to check). However you can do either a tracert or check your router to see if you are using a private or public ip.  If private more then likely you have double nat.  In order to compensate for double nat you will need to use your modem to place your router in DMZ (google how to).  Afterwards you may need to reboot your modem then your router again in order for it to take effect.
    3. For your XR router make sure you Disable DumaOS Classified Games.
    4. Uncheck Shared Excess for both download and upload from Bandwidth Allocation. Make sure that your Down/Up Bandwidth is correct. Do a speed test with just your modem to verify.
    5. Delete all existing rules if you haven't added these before.
    6. Set Anti-Buffer Bloat settings to both 100 and set it to never.  (for me even on "Never" I'm still capped to ABB slider for up/down).  Test this to see if you notice any improvement.  If not re-enable it. R1 users may want to keep ABB. For me, having tested this in several matches I am now "on time" with the server and on par with other players.  No more .5 seconds behind other players.
    7. Make sure that the port for your console is actually in Upnp. Take note of it (it's usually 5 digit number).  Make sure that port corresponds with your console and not some other device.  It has been suggested to tie in that rule along within Traffic Prioritization to 3074-3075. Like this: Source: (port to your console) -> Destination: 3074-3075 and vise versa for your other rule. Results have been inconclusive and more testing is needed to determine if there is any impact doing so.  I've read that tying in your console port to the actual port ranges as well in both source and destination and destination to source. But again, further research is needed to determine if this actually works or not.
    8. Adjust Bandwidth Allocation as needed.
    9. Set the following rules for Traffic Prioritization For UDP. It takes trial/error on your part between those games that use udp vs those that require tcp.
    Source 3074-3075  -> Destination 3100-3500
Source 3100 - 3500 -> Destination 3074 - 3075 This is not needed for the actual game itself (it seems). You are prioritizing data about your stats more so then anything else. I've noticed at the end of the round that my rank up wouldn't animate (filling up the circle).  It would be instantaneous.  Albeit I was also prioritizing 2000-7000 udp as well.  This was/is unnecessary. Thanks @blackfirehawk for the tip.
    Source 3074-3075 -> Destination 30000-45000
    Source 30000-45000 -> Destination 3074-3075
Once added reboot the Router (to assure that the settings stick). Using the 1st set of rules.  And make sure that the port for your console shows up in Upnp.  If you don't use Upnp you may want to enable it, disable port forwarding (or delete the rules for them) reboot the router find your port for your console. Then add that port to port forwarding once you know what it is and disable upnp if you perfer port forwarding.
Thanks to @kinel, @GHOST-1-EC and others for the research.

Example (Best k/d yet for me):

    Disclaimer:
This is not a "tweak" to help you get an edge on other players. Nor will this help improve an already great hit rego experience.  If you are already consistently coming in 1st through 4th place in matches these settings may be of little benefit for you.  These settings are "suggested" as a base line and may require further research (IE: Wireshark, etc) on your part to get the optimal port ranges suited for your geo-location, etc.

    EDIT 12/21/19:

It appears that after a few updates things get borked with Modern Warfare (and BO4).  I found out that in order to get better fluidity in my movement I had to reinstall the game after about 2-3 updates.  The ranges above does indeed work 3074-3075 30000-45000 (in 5000-8000 increments). And for me, keeping ABB to never using 75% of my download speed (lowering it more with bandwidth allocation) seems to really bring the game up to par.
I've found nothing else that would allow me to be ahead of everyone else in movement, etc so far.  If anything else comes up I would update.
