Internet Speed halfed... 1000mbps to 500mbps
Netduma Fraser replied to 1_EYE_WIDGEYWOO's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Could you use router mode on the V hub and have the R3 in its DMZ instead and check again? I've always found the modem mode on the V hub to be a bit hit or miss. If it's still lower disable all the options in Settings > Troubleshooting > Advanced please and check. -
Is your ping fluctuating on the Geo-Filter/in game? How do you have Congestion Control set up?

I feel like i'm 1s behind everybody
Netduma Fraser replied to Ganerineur's topic in Call of Duty Support
Force some servers slightly further away, even if they have a higher ping as they may play better. Lag compensation could be working against so do doing this could have it working for you. -
The team have only just got back from the holidays so they'll be working through everything, new firmware won't be far off
-
Steady Ping shouldn't affect the processing delay the game adds at all but if you feel it's adding too much ping and the benefit of stabilizing it is outweighed you can just disable it. It has been the holidays to be fair so the team have only just got back so will be working their way through all the reports. Clear your browser cache/cookies, does it show then?

Ah gotcha, thanks for clarifying, I get what you mean about that - it's more due to how consoles work, it's not necessarily possible to pick specific games for it. I do think it should be more simplified in that respect, I'll pass it on. The Geo-Filter is still showing an increased ping or just in game? It's not game specific, I don't know the ins & outs of the tech behind it but I think it's more to do with some games have a limit on how much the server can be pinged - CoD for example doesn't actually allow pings to their servers at all, it's only due to some cleverness on our side that we can workaround it. Sent to you all via PM
-
Don't forget, forcing servers the other side of the world isn't the intended function of the Geo-Filter so it's not guaranteed, also if your ping is potentially too high the game may just reject you. Are you setting up the Geo-Filter prior to booting the game/console?

NetdumaR2 nach reboot immer auf reset
Netduma Fraser replied to VeniVidiVici's topic in Netduma R2 Support
Wie starten Sie den Router neu? Ziehen Sie den Stecker? Wenn ja, starten Sie stattdessen über die Benutzeroberfläche neu und die Einstellungen sollten gespeichert werden. -
That would be great thank you. If it's not reflected in game then it's either an incorrect reading or it's auto pinging a far away authentication server - if you do see it again ping the host manually, do you see the same ping?
-
As above, just the ones you have added to the Geo-Filter

Does anybody know when the new firmware is suppose to drop?
Netduma Fraser replied to Zepplike's topic in Netduma R3 Support
I've sent you the .23 firmware via a PM. You can install it in Settings > Troubleshooting We didn't push it to routers as it was made on the Friday before the holidays, so didn't want to push something and then everyone has an issue so I've been providing it manually and monitoring -
A reboot of the router should resolve that, let us know!

As above make sure Steady Ping is disabled as in case it re-enabled. What settings are you using for Congestion Control now?
-
It's the target ping, so if you have 20ms ping to the server normally and you put Steady Ping to 50ms, it will give you 50ms to the server, not 70ms - it's not adding the value you set on top of your ping. This is why we recommend putting it slightly higher than your usual ping. If you have 20ms that fluctuates to between 15 - 30, 30ms would be a good target ping to set. Oh so it's not auto updating that's interesting, what browser are you using?

EAFC 24 Servers. CANT connect in Spain-Italy (Geo Filter)
Netduma Fraser replied to Cobrinio's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Try disabling filtering on the Geo-Filter but so you can still see the servers you're connecting to, out of 10 games do you ever get one of those servers? -
Static v. dynamic IP address for devices
Netduma Fraser replied to Dezer's topic in Telstra Internet Optimiser support
As above it's almost certainly the Private/Random MAC address option that iOS devices have. When connected to the WiFi, click the WiFi "i" next to the network on the phone, you can then disable this option. It shouldn't happen again. To explain why it happens, a MAC address is a unique identifier, basically saying hey this is an iPhone, by changing the MAC address constantly the modem sees it as a new device but if the MAC address isn't a known apple device it won't know what it is. So disabling that option keeps it the same always so the modem knows what the device is at all times. I guess it's kind of like changing your home address every day but didn't tell the postman and being surprised when he doesn't know this new address on the letters should actually be going to your house. -
The team have only just returned from the holidays so will take some time, as soon as it's available it'll be on the app store so keep a look out there.

What browser does NetDuma recommend?
Netduma Fraser replied to YT_LowPingKing's topic in Community Discussion
I don't think we have any specific recommended browser, especially given a lot of browsers run on Chromium now so they should all largely work the same. I don't think we've encountered any issues that are browser specific. I was using Brave and now using OperaGX and both work fine - both are based on Chromium so really just down to personal preference now! -
Thanks for the reminder! Not sure who is supposed to be taking care of that now but will update it myself today
