All the instructions on how to upload it was on the post you downloaded the firmware from: Download the attached upgrade file. Reboot your R3 - this is a one-off as this new firmware contains improvements to make manual upgrading smoother in the future. Go to the Netduma R3 user interface on your PC/laptop. Navigate to >Settings >Troubleshooting and then click Upload Firmware. Choose the file and then upload it. You'll need to wait a few minutes for the upload to complete..

To download manually go to Settings > Troubleshooting and click upload firmware at the bottom

Worse Bufferbloat and various issues with R3
Netduma Fraser replied to canuckftc12W's topic in Netduma R3 Support
On the Geo, you will only see servers when searching or in a game so that is normal. The gaming on the dashboard we just need to improve that, it doesn't mean it isn't working. The bufferbloat test doesn't relate to how you have gaming set up, you just need to fine tune Congestion Control to sort that. -
It's not always showing, is it CoD you're playing? What platform are you playing on?
-
That would be entirely dependent on the model you get and the way they tell you to connect it to an existing router. It should work just fine though.
-
Could you grab the log from when you run it and it fails please?
-
Either should work just fine, you may find one or the other works better for you

As per the first post we're working on VPN, we might be able to get it in on the next version

Worse Bufferbloat and various issues with R3

Glad to hear that is working. Experiment manually with Congestion Control rather than allowing Ping Optimizer to decide for you and see if you can get the results down more -
Whichever blocks what you need to block, it will be working yes, you can see on the Adblock page when it does block

XR700 Dual port 2.5gbps
Netduma Fraser replied to davemarsden132's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
I don't know to be honest, it's a Netgear hardware feature -
70% is the recommended starting point but you may be able to improve on it. You only need the game or the device added, not both
-
It may be quite hard for us to diagnose this without the logs, has it still been fine with SmartBOOST disabled? What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g. R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode

Not able to connect to bridge mode

Setup PPPoE on the web interface instead, does that work properly then? -
Have you factory reset since upgrading to this one? I would recommend it as there has been a lot of changes
-
VPN generally increases your ping so I wouldn't recommend it usually. If you have your Geo/SmartBOOST/Congestion Control setup correctly and it is still happening then it may be the game. In which case playing during non peak times you may see a better experience - if so it will be the game
-
Great to hear that, thanks for the update so far, do keep us posted!

You can disable it that's not a problem. What percentage had you set the sliders to? What do you mean it doesn't respond? Yes that's correct for DNS. Yes setting to 100% essentially disables it. I think we'll be going over it in a video, I'm not sure how much we can say about how it works at the moment. You can always downgrade. Generally if its not in the changelog then it's not been included, we're still working on improvements and fixes. You can adjust Congestion Control manually. Could you expand on that? Well PPPoE/DHCP is working otherwise you wouldn't have a connection at all - it doesn't affect your gameplay quality. It'll be down to have you have the settings done, you may need to fine tune them as the firmware has changed. You can downgrade if you wish to.
-
Do you get an error when trying to run the test at all?
-
Okay that's great, that's what I'd suspect. There aren't any game specific settings that you definitely need to do. As long as you have the Geo-Filter setup to get the closest servers and have Congestion Control setup to eliminate local congestion and SmartBOOST has your device/gaming prioritized you should be good.
-
Sorry for the late reply, you can ignore the stat part, that's quite a new feature so may need tweaking. It can still stabilize the ping to peers I believe but it may not work with every single game
-
Check if you experience the same direct to your modem
