NEW XR500 BETA FIRMWARE: 3.3.535

You should still see devices connected to the AP on the Device Manager as though they were connected to the XR, they may appear offline but should still work with QoS -

They should be named when they connect back, best way to avoid it overall is to give them reserved IPs in LAN > DHCP -
Lag no lag more lag
Netduma Fraser replied to davemarsden132's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Really depends on your routing/location but I'd say that's okay, I have 2 different connections in the same location with different providers, one has 9 hops with 4ms ping avg and the other 7 hops overall with 13ms avg -
It's probably that they've ceased support for config files specifically but they may still provide them, if not easy to cancel and try another one like Nord
-
Yes you will need to do that, you will need to contact them, I think they've removed it from public view for some reason

You can delete all offline devices from the Device Manager menu icon, if they reconnect then they'll just reappear but in your scenario looks like a lot are unused -
Not receiving close to full connection speed using R2 router
Netduma Fraser replied to Ravenuk's topic in Netduma R2 Support
Great to hear that resolved it, in the meantime PPPoE/QoS/speeds is something we're looking into. As above if you're able to have your ISP modem/router or switch to a modem/router combo that would do the trick, any should work just fine. -

Let us know how you get on but the quantity of devices shouldn't negatively impact it. It's probably the DHCP issue, though the workaround probably isn't something you want to do 40 times but if you want to try then in LAN Setting, set the DHCP range to start at .100, then assign reserved IP addresses to devices between .2 & .99 so they're out of the DHCP range, apply, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes and see if that stops the disconnects. -

To answer your questions: No that is normal when using a custom config as it can't tell those details No you can ignore these As long as it's working no need to look at the log! -
Another day, another problem with XR1000
Netduma Fraser replied to banjo22's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
I suspect from what you have said that you're unplugging the router to reboot it which could be causing the problem. Setup the router again, change any settings you want to then reboot the router from the interface and wait a few minutes before accessing. This acts as a hard save so that if/when you unplug it from power it won't reset itself/lose settings and devices should reconnect normally. -
Do you have any existing rules added or is it just that one you're trying to add?
-
What are/were the port forwarding rules you were trying to make/manage to make exactly? It's most likely there was an overlap of some sort and it got itself into a state

Not receiving close to full connection speed using R2 router
Netduma Fraser replied to Ravenuk's topic in Netduma R2 Support
No worries, click the TV/Play icon top right on dumaweb, go to Settings and you can disable it from there. Nothing specifically but any should do really! -
Basically enter a local site for the destination, then let it run, look at the bottom graph so you can see your ping over time. Start some downloads, you should see the ping rises, experiment with Congestion Control as above and you should see the ping go lower again. The idea is to get it as close to the ping you were seeing prior to the downloads.

Could you try downgrading to the previous version then please and see if the issues continue? -
If you're literally just gaming then no but if you have one device downloading while you're playing then yes as downloads will always use as much bandwidth as they can get a hold of.
-
Bufferbloat happens when all your bandwidth is being used so if you had a situation where that normally would have occurred then yes, if not then it would play normally. Essentially it ensures that you'll never have any lag caused by other devices. As above if that's with literally nothing happening on the network then it could indicate a line issue, or it could be your far away from the server used for the test.
-
Yeah adjust it for upload, that's the only option that would eliminate bufferbloat

You don't need to use both, so you can disable one or the other, whichever you would prefer to use. I've changed the password for the old account and PMd you with it. -
Hey, welcome to the forum! If your base connection is having those spikes that frequently and consistently it's going to be hard to tell how much of your bufferbloat results are due to that and just settings. Also even if you get your bufferbloat down to the lowest point that spiking issue will still happen and that will be the main thing affecting you as bufferbloat only occurs when your connection is saturated i.e. all your bandwidth is being used, with QoS enabled and Congestion Control lowered that can't happen. Follow the guide here: https://support.netduma.com/en/support/solutions/articles/16000074717-how-to-test-your-internet-ping while saturating your connection with downloads/streams etc. It's best to start with a high value for Congestion Control (set to Always), say 95% then do a test, decrease by 10%, test, decrease by 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good and then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved. It's important to note that Download & Upload on Congestion Control don't have to be the same value and that you may have a better experience with differing values.

If you run the test on a PC, do you get similar results to the Xbox or are they much better?
-
Good suggestion above, otherwise does it work with admin / password at all?
