Firmware 3.2 for XR500
Netduma Fraser replied to Stilts29's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Added! -
It's likely that you're actually playing on a server as it's a server based game and it's misclassified on the map as a peer, if you can provide the ID we can resolve that

If you disable the Geo-Filter does the bandwidth report the normal speeds?

Playstation 5 " Test Internet Connection""
Netduma Fraser replied to GregC's topic in Netduma R2 Support
It is highly likely that QoS is affecting the test, if you disable QoS/Traffic Prioritization does the test report closer to expected speeds? -
That could work, if you select the closest possible server to you then in theory it would have less distance to route you through and therefore may actually improve your ping
-
Hey, welcome to the forum! If you give the router a reboot do the entries re-appear? Go to the System Information page and then in the Rapp panel menu ≡ change the retries to 5, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes before accessing and see if it works then please. Best thing to do is to ensure you're not loading the interface over HTTPS, clear browser cache/cookies then load each page once and it should be faster than that. No way to disable the graphical aspects. Yeah the interface isn't optimized for mobile but it is something we're working on a lot at the moment - I'm not sure if that would apply to the Netgear settings as we won't have much control over that but you can use the Nighthawk app to change some settings via mobile.

This makes more sense, IPs are sold all the time to different countries, for example, an IP that was previously Australian could be sold and now used in the UK. However, the databases which hold the locations of the IPs are not always up to date. So what I suspect is happening is that you're getting IPs that were previously used in another country but haven't been updated, hence they route you through the old location and thus it increases your ping. Your current ping for example shows Latvia as the location. So when you change your IP use a site to check the location of it, if it's not close enough change it again etc and once you've got a good one don't change it or reboot etc.
-
You can do that but changing your IP may not necessarily change your routing. Thanks for that, the server is definitely in Sweden so nothing on the Geo-Filter side causing a high ping or anything, unfortunately ISP routing is outside our abilities so it's just something you'll need to try and talk to them about more

Yes we are closer, we're waiting on some testing at the moment, should that go well its full steam ahead

Lag Spikes when playing Call of duty
Netduma Fraser replied to Gidgriff's topic in Community Discussion
When you add all the devices you'll need to re-set QoS to find what works best in that scenario and once you do that it should perform a lot better as it can control the whole network -
That's fine, just refresh the page then try to ping

Lag Spikes when playing Call of duty
Netduma Fraser replied to Gidgriff's topic in Community Discussion
If you're seeing the spikes on the Geo-Filter now then that's definitely on your side, did you experiment with the percentages to find which worked best? Are ALL devices connected to the XR? -
Hello, welcome to the forum! Two points to note first: You can't directly trace/ping most game servers, that's why yours is timing out We can't change the route your packets take to servers that's completely down to the ISP Can you provide a screenshot of your Geo-Filter page please?
-
Ah that's good to hear, thank you for the update!

You are on beta firmware and thus issues are expected, please also post issues you're having on beta firmware in the beta section so the devs can take a proper look if needed. Go to the System Information page and then in the Rapp panel menu ≡ change the retries to 5, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes before accessing and see if it works then please.

Hard to say, have you changed any QoS settings prior to that happening? 800 is still plenty for gaming, it's unlikely having the higher bandwidth would make a difference in game.

Playstation 5 " Test Internet Connection""
Netduma Fraser replied to GregC's topic in Netduma R2 Support
It's working noting the console speed tests are an estimate, I believe it says that on the test itself so it won't always be accurate. Just to clarify, on a PC you are seeing the proper upload speeds? If you do an upload on the console what speed is it uploading at? That would be the easiest way to tell if the upload is actually limited or just reported incorrectly. -
Glad to hear that. There is no specific reason why that would happen but gaming doesn't require much bandwidth so it's possible giving it too much for some reason makes the game play worse
-
Click the icon then resync the cloud, wait a few minutes then re-ping the game, do servers/pings appear then?
-
Thanks for the heads up, we did manage to get access so we'll be testing it out

Geo Filter not working for Destiny 2 Pc
Netduma Fraser replied to Glitch x2's topic in Netduma R2 Support
The servers can not be joinable but still be pingable if they're connected to the internet -
Found mislocated servers? Let us know here!

Solo para aclarar, la identificación que nos ha dado es un servidor que debería estar en Chile pero se muestra en Brasil.
