Is the Netduma R3 really the best router for me?
Netduma Fraser replied to Iced Soul's topic in Call of Duty Support
Most of the issues with PPPoE that we've had in the past have usually been with QoS on the upload side not working with it which has been resolved. The issue currently is that a small percentage of PPPoE users are experiencing disconnects, this is most likely due to the nature of the connection method (i.e. that it 'logs' in to the internet service and can have a timeout on it) but we will fix that. -
I have ordered a Netduma R3 gaming router

As above, sure there is a slight element of risk but look at any ISP modem/router and they'll all have UPnP enabled by default, any third party router will too so if there was a massive risk that wouldn't happen. As long as you're practicing safe network/web habits then you should be absolutely fine. -
A bit more white but not pure white for me, regardless I've passed it onto the team so they'll take a look when they can

Do you still have devices connected to your 5G box? Where are you testing the speeds exactly?
-
Okay do a factory reset first from the interface, wait 4 minutes then check your speed please, if its still low then do what I mentioned before please: Go to the Device Manager and switch to the table view (click top left of the Device Manager panel), then provide a screenshot of that page please

It'll be much easier for me to help resolve the issue if you're on the firmware I mentioned

And is the ping stable at 8ms? That is an exceptionally good ping, 5ms is basically LAN so I can't see how you'd be experiencing lag at least from any cause on your side. What is actually happening when you try to connect via WiFi? What settings do you change after a factory reset exactly? -

It shouldn't always be needed and the above should do a good job at getting an open NAT anyway but its a good suggestion, I'll pass it on to the team! -
Good to hear! It's very unlikely it's died, we'll look into it. No need but appreciate it!

You're on a very old firmware version, I would highly suggest you upgrade to this version: https://forum.netduma.com/topic/35821-new-r1-firmware-30207/ If you insist on staying on that version then it will be very difficult to help you as that software hasn't been used for about 8 years at least and it's changed drastically since then.

Slow Netduma Router System and Various Issues

I've moved your post into your original topic for consistency as I had no idea what you were referring to. It'd be a good idea to do a factory reset from the interface now that you're on this version and see what issues remain. What is actually happening when you try to connect via WiFi? What ping are you seeing in game and on the Geo-Filter? What game are you playing? When are you playing? Factory reset should help with the slow access -
We wouldn't have got the early access or ultimate edition so would wait for the standard edition. A new firmware wouldn't be needed, it would just be a cloud update but most likely it'll work exactly the same as the previous one but we'll test it when we can and make any necessary changes if required.
