Is it possible to get a nat open
Netduma Fraser replied to Jozif's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
You don't put the ISP router address in the XR DMZ. Copy the WAN IP from the XR system information page and put that in the DMZ on your ISP router -
192.168.1.1 vs routerlogin.net

I don't know what you mean by "The 152 being the DMZ / Yellow internet port" but I think it's probably the use of the pihole that is causing it to be honest, if you re-enable DHCP on the router and keep the default DNS does it work then? There isn't a specific URL to bypass the auth and get you straight in if that's what you mean -
NEW XR500 BETA FIRMWARE: 3.3.535
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Lew's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
No there isn't a way to do that specifically, you'd either have to disable share excess and have every device hard limited to the bandwidth left over or specifically give out bandwidths to each device as a hard limit out of your total available bandwidth -

While connected to the router via a wired Windows PC, open command prompt, type ipconfig press enter and then post a screenshot of the results here please. -

You can use the DMZ instead and that should resolve the NAT issue at least. Set a static WAN on the XR and then mirror those settings on the ISP router, reboot the ISP router, wait 2 minutes then reboot the XR from the interface, wait 4 minutes and then neither router can change them and should work correctly after -

No worries, glad you were able to get it sorted and thanks for the solution/update! -
What is the high latency numbers you're seeing when playing exactly?
-
What ping are you seeing in the game? You can have the Geo-Filter enabled but in spectating mode so it won't filter but you can see the ping still - what does the ping say on the Geo-Filter also? Where is the server in relation to you that its putting you on?

It's 192.168.1.1/adv_index.htm for those, does that work? -

Just to clarify you said 192.168.1.1/admin do you mean the standard interface or the page where it is just the netgear settings, no DumaOS/styling? -
Thank you, on the router in DHCP give the console and phone a reserved IP address, reboot the router, wait 4 minutes, then reboot each device then try connecting, does it work then?

NEW R3 FIRMWARE - DumaOS 4.0.540
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Alex's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Quite possible it has gotten itself in a weird state, I've let them know you're accessible and so hopefully they'll be able to take a look. Unlikely to be today but you don't need to be present, they can connect any time now -

There aren't any settings really for this in the Netgear section so not a super clear one, presumably it's showing the same IP in LAN Settings on the router? -

Do you get the same issue with another browser? Have you installed any new extensions on your browser recently? -
Thanks for your candour, the game makes changes all the time, they introduce servers, take them away etc. All it means is you may need to allow a server that is being blocked so you can get in. If you can then provide the ID for that server we can then make sure it's whitelisted for everyone. It's not a bug, it's the nature of the beast when games update all the time. Check the Geo-Filter when you get the message, look for an icon being blocked, allow it, then try again. You may need to do it a few times, there may be a few servers in the same location responsible.

What is the model of the modem/router the XR is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the XR? E.g XR in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode Are ALL devices connected to the XR? What are the speeds you pay for/receive? Have you entered those speeds into the router? How have you setup Congestion Control? How have you setup Traffic Prioritization? What platform are you playing on and how is it connected, via ethernet or WiFi? Are you using the Geo-Filter? DNS & Port Forwarding won't have any impact on lag and games barely use any bandwidth - if figures for Destiny online are correct then even though it does use more than most games it still only uses 0.6Mbps.
