It's not something we can get involved in unfortunately, just like how we wouldn't give out information for people to contact our developers directly - it would take time away from them actually developing, the customer support (e.g. me) deals with customer queries and then passes them up the food chain if necessary. @mannrs is a good contact to have though

Okay thank you, I'll pass it on!

You leave it as the console device type and leave it added to the Geo-Filter like a console, you don't need to change it. It sounds like it is working, preventing you getting games outside your zone. Did you fully quit the game and the client e.g. steam (including from the System Tray), then enable the Geo-Filter then launch and try again? If so, did you change any settings while on the game? If so you'll need to restart the game once you've made a change.

In that case, I'll bet that the TV isn't liking the automatic switching between bands on the WiFi. Split the bands, give 2.4/5GHz different names and connect it to one or the other and it should prevent that happening again - you can check the logs to see if it has stopped. It's plausible that it was also contributing to the dropped frames.

Congestion control issues XR1000
Netduma Fraser replied to Henry's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
No worries at all, glad that's working for you now! -
Thank you, that's perfect, by any chance have you disabled the option to allow ping in settings?
-
I don't want you to do that, just checking if you have enabled it because whatever that device is seems to be trying to access constantly. More likely it's a device on your network - the manufacturer is Vestel, does that ring any bells? Congestion Control you need to have enabled, it doesn't need to be enabled all the time, you could set it to auto if you prioritize gaming as well and then it will only apply then or you could enable/disable each time. You don't need that extra 300Mbps when streaming/playing.

Netduma R2 Keeps Factory Resetting on its Own
Netduma Fraser replied to schmizzbeats's topic in Netduma R2 Support
Only posts that are spam or are duplicates are deleted, any topics that may require sensitive information will be moved to a secure part of the forum where only staff and the person who started the topic can see/respond to it, none are deleted. Posts that contain links are automatically hidden for later review to prevent spam and we've had a big decrease in spam since doing this. I've manually approved it now. -
Okay thank you, while performing the ping/when you notice a spike can you get the logs from the interface please? I can then pass them on to a dev to have a look
-
Could you factory reset now you've updated and just check again please?

Netduma R2 Keeps Factory Resetting on its Own
Netduma Fraser replied to schmizzbeats's topic in Netduma R2 Support
That doesn't mean the router is working without the software - it's a router and in that situation it's acting like a switch so it's not working correctly without the software at all. Topics where more sensitive information may be required are moved to preserve privacy & security. If the update bricks routers and we didn't test it then there would certainly be a lot more noise about it in the Early Access section. You weren't offered to buy another router, the router was determined to be faulty, you're outside the warranty period and we haven't sold the router for years so a replacement couldn't easily be arranged anyway. We could leave it as that but we offered a discount if you wanted to get the R3, we could have offered nothing but knowing how frustrating it is to have a faulty router and as a sign of our gratitude for being a customer that's what we can offer, it's up to you if you want to take it or not. We're on a support forum, that's all I deal with, it doesn't mean 100% of the customer base have the issues. -
Not Upload Firmware, Invalid Firmware...
Netduma Fraser replied to Erick Paiz's topic in Netduma R2 Support
Great to hear that, thanks for confirming! -
Is this on the Early Access firmware .645?
-
You said you changed the ethernet cables before, did that include the ones connected the devices to the R3? Check the other LAN ports with this test and see if you get the same results please
-
Do the same test but with the R3 IP address, what do you get?

Last I heard the thinking was it would need a firmware update to solve, which given there hasn't been an update for 4 years, would be unlikely. Currently exploring other workarounds and will come back to you. If it is DPI then in theory disabling QoS fully from the Congestion Control menu might help.
-
Correct, you wouldn't be able to solve that. Generally in the case of ISP congestion there isn't much you can do except perhaps switch to a provider that isn't as subscribed to in your area.
-
Based on the other topic you posted in where mannrs replied to you, it doesn't sound like you're running the Internet Optimiser features we support so you'd need to go through Telstra support directly for support with your issue

Are you using PPPoE/VLAN/IPv6? If so that is likely the cause. Have your ISP modem/router handle PPPoE/VLAN instead and then it should work again correctly.
