ANNOUNCEMENT: DUMAOS 3.0 IS HERE

Recommended Posts

simple question is it coming this month yes or no answer only please.

xr300 beta doesn't matter if it works because I'm gonna throw the router away when I buy a new one, or blow it up and post a youtube link if anyone is interested.

It's not that simple, development is a long process and if it hits QA and bugs are found then they will be fixed which will ultimately push back when we can release it. We learnt a long time ago that it was better not to give dates.

ah ok thanks, I know that giving a date is impossible with all the testing that is needed that's why I wanted an unfinished version. But if it's so instable that I can't use it than I might as well buy an upgrade. It just sucks that in the netherlands you can't buy a netduma from a reputable store and I don't really want to support netgear since they bottleneck the cheaper versions through software.

We can ship the R2 to the Netherlands if you were interested in a Netduma router!

That would be great, from where do you ship and how long would that normally take? I'm worried that due to the pandemic it would get a lot of delays. Also in the netherlands you get screwed over a lot by vats even when already handled, they still try to get you to pay extra which is weird and borderline criminal.

We ship from England, it would normally take a couple of days however currently we are working through dispatching a lot of pre-orders so delivery times are delayed.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well that's not cool.

I bought a new SSD and cloned my Os to the new drive but now i cannot login to my router anymore and i forgot the password.. -_-

I did the security check but the answers to the questions are not correct it says while i am for 10000% sure they are... now i have to reinstall the whole router again..

Unfortunately there is no other way if it's not taking the security answers. It won't take long to set it up again really

yes its working again though.

On another note, the connection benchmark is not accurate in the slightest, i get very low download speeds. Its only 388 and upload is 548 while i have an 1Gbps connection.

OK great.

What did you input your speeds as being during initial setup? You can double check by going to the three-dot menu in the top right and going to advanced -> network speeds.

Its set to 1000mbps up and down and get 464 down and 700 up.

If you're seeing that in Connection Benchmark, that's telling us what the R2 is getting from the modem. If it were a problem with the R2 then you would see 1gpbs in connection benchmark but lower speeds to connected devices. Are there other devices connected to the modem/router or does everything on the network go through the R2?

I only use the XR500 as modem/router. When i do speedtest via Ookla i get 950 up and down, only when i do the connection benchmark via the interface i get this low speeds.

Expand

That's interesting, are your bandwidth speeds entered correctly? You can check this by clicking the three-line menu in the top right of the interface -> Advanced -> Set bandwidth speeds.

Thanks, there is actually now a newer beta firmware that we'd suggest you upgrade to:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/l3oeb6dw25ngmwm/XR500-V2.3.2.120.zip?dl=0

We'd suggest factory resetting after you've installed this, you can then go through and quickly setup the network settings again, hopefully that should resolve your issue.

Nope, this is the worst firmware i ever tested:

I flashed, reset defaults and put settings again and this is the result. With previous firmware i got much better results.

do you guys test this before bring this to public or do you let us the consumer test this instead?

Is that the only reason you think it is the worst firmware so far? We've said previously the Ping Under Load needs to be improved - it doesn't mean you will necessarily get those spikes. You also need to adjust QoS to get a better result on that test. Also as we use the Google servers for the ping tests if you have a bad connection to them then it will be reflected there.

I have bought the router, and it feels much better, by tge way, if you guys remember me :)

I would recommend the beta .120 version personally as I feel that's the most stable so far
