The "Deny" in Geo Filter
Netduma Fraser replied to Comp0za's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
If you enable cross play can you block that specific peer you think is an auth server? -
Try Linux or DD-WRT Version 2, then download the file for the server you want, open it in a notepad then start the setup on HybridVPN but choose advanced instead of basic and input it into the configuration box
-
I'm referring to the VPN configs you're using, there are several, which did you use? https://support.purevpn.com/openvpn-files

Okay great thanks! Make a new post about your issues on the XR and we'll do our best to help. -
What VPN configs are you using from PureVPN - what operating system and version?

Hey, welcome to the forum! It appears to be working on iOS, does it give you the option to provide a log? If you could get a log and provide that then it would be really helpful. What is your Android version as well? I know the Pixel phones get the latest Android updates first so that might be why it's happening as we won't necessarily have been able to test it. -

Thanks for that, I've passed that onto the team so they can reclassify it, should then be easier to deny -
Can you provide a screenshot of the Geo-Filter page when you're in a Singapore game please? What does the ping to the Singapore server show?
-
It doesn't need to be added to the Geo-Filter as the console service the PS5 is added to the Geo-Filter with would cover it - is it actually Geo-Filterable in your experience? I'll add it to our suggestion list for Heatmap

ANNOUNCEMENT: DUMAOS 3.0 IS HERE
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Luke's topic in News & Announcements
As Liam mentioned above a bug was found, and if you have/haven't read this yet: https://forum.netduma.com/topic/38088-where-is-the-next-dumaos-firmware-for-nighthawk-pro-gaming-routers/ you can see why this can delay things. Yes there is a new firmware coming but it's unlikely to be this month given the holidays so more like January -
Add “Halo Infinite” severs and geo filtering
Netduma Fraser replied to Yale king's topic in New Games for the Geo-Filter
Thanks for that, the IP you provided doesn't seem to be banned. However, I can see your public IP is changing A LOT, multiple times a day in some cases so although it may not be on our end, the forum software or Cloudflare could be flagging it as suspicious and suspend access. I'd see if your ISP could extend the lease time on your public IP and you may see an improvement in that. -

Sorry I mean your public IP address -
They're testing a lot at the moment but what they've said they'll do is use Apex as part of their testing so they can sort of do 2 things at once, they did say it's unlikely to be resolved by Xmas.

The "Deny" in Geo Filter
Netduma Fraser replied to Comp0za's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Ah I see what you mean, when it is classified as a peer we can't tell specifically if that may be a player or a server without us specifically testing and then correctly classifying it. If we allowed all peers to be blocked immediately when denied it could be used to boot people from games so its safer not to do that. So if it's a misclassified server the best thing to do is report it to us and wait 2 minutes/restart the game before searching again so its denied. -
No because you have Share Excess enabled and gaming barely uses any Bandwidth, usually less than 1Mbps and it won't use any more than is needed so you have probably 99% of your bandwidth unused by gaming so it will go to other things that need it such as when doing a speedtest on another device.

The "Deny" in Geo Filter

I see what you mean but that could then be used to boot people from games potentially which is why that 2 minute/until connection is severed delay exists for peers. -
Nighthawk xr500 ac2600 pease advise
Netduma Fraser replied to kinel's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Above is all the firmware that has been released. It is not standard practice to name a firmware version, there are too many iterations to do that. Unless I haven't been told which is unlikely then in short, there is no gold firmware, they're either mistaken or have made it up to be honest. -

Netduma Fraser replied to Comp0za's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
The games are server based so unless it's misclassified you shouldn't need to do it too often. You could go back to the lobby and wait 2 minutes for the connection to be severed but usually quicker to restart. -

PM me your public IP when you're connected via WiFi, I'll see if the forum has automatically blocked your IP address -

Can you provide a screenshot of what you're seeing exactly when that happens please? -
The latest firmware .394 does have a lot of stability improvements and has reduced disconnections for users
-
Let me just check with Alex, I know he's testing a lot of games currently

R2 loses all connection periodically, requires unplug
Netduma Fraser replied to The0dark0one's topic in Netduma R2 Support
@Deng reports of disconnects have reduced since the new firmware and those who get a replacement don't always get disconnects if they had it before so I think it is a bit of both really but we'll continue to investigate. If you could see if you get the issue with your new phone that would be helpful!
