xr 500 dropping internet.

Change the starting IP address to .100, then click Add under Address Reservation and give all your devices IPs ending between .2 and .99 -
So resync, wait a 1 minute, then re-select the game or click ping again and it still doesn't show the servers?
-
If you delete it and then re-add does it work? Are you enabling it after you're already on the game?

Did you do a factory reset after the update as that is recommended to remove remnants of the previous version that may cause issues. Do you have access to the interface when you disconnect? If so could you provide the log from the System Information page please when you get a disconnect? -

What is the model of the modem/router the R2 is connected to? Are ALL devices connected to the R2? What is the average ping you're seeing on the Geo-Filter/in game? You've set Traffic Prioritization correctly so you can leave that as it is. -
Trouble with Apple devices after 3.2.453 firmware update
Netduma Fraser replied to Zaxtoy's topic in Netduma R2 Support
Could you try on the affected devices to manually set the DNS on the device itself, not on the router and see if that makes a difference please as we've had some reports about that and the symptoms of your issue sound similar. -

I couldn't give a reason without more of an indication, have you done anything, reboot, update etc? Does the internet return on its own, do you need to reboot to get it back etc? -

You can always find it pinned at the top of the R2 support forum: https://forum.netduma.com/topic/39522-new-r2-firmware-32453/ -

You can reset Bandwidth Allocation, gaming barely uses any, how do you normally have Congestion Control set? If you're finding better luck with the Geo-Filter off then try forcing servers slightly further away, even with a higher ping they may be more stable. -

We're working on that aspect, it shouldn't cause you lag though, make a new topic and include a screenshot of your QoS & Geo-Filter pages and let us know what ping you're seeing on the Geo-Filter and in game. -
I don't think the R2 would be doing anything to shared links, if you open the link in a private window does it load?
-
Fingers crossed, keep us posted!
-
Could you let it do it automatically please and see if the issue continues?
-
Thanks for that, does it have an option to enable automatic assigned DNS?
-
Yeah so it's not stable because it's dropping connections to sites before they can load, do any other devices have the issue, for example if you use the web browser on a console does it work?
-
We've seen a similar issue with someone else so we'll take a look, in the meantime use DNS on the device itself to ensure a stable connection.
-
I've you're not having an issue you don't need to touch that option, if you disable Upstream DNS you must use DNS override to enter manual DNS. Issue at the very least is override isn't working for this user and possibly the router isn't taking into account the upstream DNS for some reason. @Moraywhat is the model of your modem/router? I just want to check to see if there may be something conflicting

Game Optimiser DumaOS not working
Netduma Fraser replied to CJArthur's topic in Telstra Internet Optimiser support
Thanks for the log, have you made any manual rules for Traffic Prioritization by any chance and does it seem to happen after that? -
Looks like we have found the cause, thanks for trying that, I will pass this onto the team so they can reproduce it and work on a fix.

A secondary DNS is important because it takes over if the primary DNS fails e.g. if the server goes down, the secondary DNS still uses the same company e.g. Cloudflare or Google, if you're not putting it in and primary goes down that could be related to the issue. Setting on the PC works but doing so on the router doesn't? Could you provide a screenshot of how it is set please?

Welcome to the forum! On the WiFi options on the devices for the R2 network, disable the Private Addresses option, disconnect from WiFi then reconnect, does that resolve the issue? -
That's great information thank you, could you try setting the DNS on the PC as well and see if it drops out please?
-
Okay interesting, in Network Settings on the R2, on the WAN side under network, is Use upstream DNS toggled on? If it is toggle it off then toggle on DNS Override and put 1.1.1.1 in primary DNS & 1.0.0.1 in secondary DNS, save network and see if it works then
