Okay that's very interesting. While connected direct to the Arris, please follow this test and let me know the result please https://winbuzzer.com/2020/05/29/windows-10-how-to-tell-if-your-isp-uses-carrier-grade-nat-cg-nat-xcxwbt/

Are you checking in console network settings or in game? What do they both say - is there a difference?
-
Enable IP Passthrough and you should get an Open NAT https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1399747/Arris-Nvg599.html?page=73#manual

Clear your browser cache/cookies and see if you can access the interface - if you came from an old version this should allow you to see it and access the setup wizard to complete and get internet. We're working on it and will get it out as soon as we can, don't have an ETA on that. Glad to hear you were able to resolve it, let us know if it happens again.

Please disable QoS from the Congestion Control menu and test using speedtest.net Are any devices other than the R1 connected to the router from the internet company?
-
What do you mean exactly? Disable it from that menu, even though you have one device connected it can still impact the speed. Do you have other devices connected direct to the modem then?
-
Okay so that is better which is good. On the R1 to get those speeds you'll need to disable QoS fully from the Congestion Control and you should get closer then

Yes absolutely it would be fine! -
The benchmark results are still under improvement, what do you get using speedtest.net?

Games require very little, 1Mbps at most and that's if you're hosting which nowadays isn't common. Games typically use less than 500Kbps so if you're trying to throttle then you'd need to reduce more but just normally that's plenty, there is no recommended set speed. It'll take what it needs and that's it, giving it more does nothing essentially -

Ah glad to hear that. Speed isn't that important for gaming so use whatever feels best to you. Yes it does default to the provider DNS on the R2 -

QoS can be enabled but not used, just set it to 100% and never, disable Traffic Prioritization and then you can not use QoS but still use Adblocker. The speed test on Benchmark uses different servers, do a speedtest.net test using the R2 and I am sure it will be a lot higher. You can whitelist Hulu in Adblocker and that should then work as well. Thanks! -

We're aware of this, we'll push a cloud update on Monday to resolve it - you can still use the Geo-Filter to get the servers you normally would. -
No it is not required to do so, as with most things, people have opinion both ways on whether it helps or not

Fastest geo fencing router available?
Netduma Fraser replied to Easygoing1's topic in Community Discussion
I do recall here is the list with a bit more information: Netduma R1 (no longer sold) Netduma R2 (3.0 Stable - Full feature set) Netgear XR300 (2.0 - No HybridVPN) Netgear XR450 (3.0 Beta available - Slightly reduced feature set) Netgear XR500 (3.0 Beta available - Slightly reduced feature set) Netgear XR700 (3.0 Beta available - Slightly reduced feature set, no longer sold once stock runs out) Netgear XR1000 (3.0 Stable - Slightly reduced feature set) Telstra Smart Modem w/Game Optimiser add on (Only available via Telstra ISP Australia) I don't personally know what goes into their pricing strategy but DumaOS is the main difference there so expect that is the reason for the price difference. -
Fastest geo fencing router available?
Netduma Fraser replied to Easygoing1's topic in Community Discussion
Well we are the only ones that have the Geo-Filtering capability which is why it's not present on other routers. Any of them will be able to handle your speeds, Geo-Filtering, QoS etc all at the same time. The R2 is our own hardware so DumaOS is most optimized for this platform if that gives you a better idea. -

Hey, welcome to the forum! Could you specify what you mean by 'fastest'? All the routers that have DumaOS on can run it absolutely fine, do you mean WiFi capability etc? What are you expected/paid for internet speeds? -
ANNOUNCEMENT: DUMAOS 3.0 IS HERE
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Luke's topic in News & Announcements
Nothing yet and I don't have any more information to give unfortunately -
Ah that's good so if it is showing you the domain that is being blocked just add it to the whitelist and then you can keep it active for that device
-
What's the game specifically? You may be able to add this to the whitelist if we know the game

It was going to be but we encountered some pretty major issues with it last minute and had to pull it prior to release. We have been looking at an API - this would specifically be useful for the Rapp store at a later date. Thanks for the suggestions, any more do let us know! -
It would have been the only latest available so the one you're using - may be worth a reset just in case to see if it now works - we haven't done anything specifically though

Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Alex's topic in Netduma R2 Support
There must be another server that is being blocked - make sure to zoom out fully and look at the exact time you try to chat - then add it. It's being blocked as they use ports within the range the Geo-Filter looks at -

The STUN demonware isn't a game server but it should be allowed, I'd recommend you add that to your allow list - also do the same for that discord server as well and then it won't cause any issues when your Geo-Filter is active. Thanks for the IDs, we'll get them placed correctly and whitelisted. -
Bricked XR500 AFTER firmware upgrade
Netduma Fraser replied to MangaGurl's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Ah okay thank you, just wanted to be sure. Liam covers mostly Mondays, weekday mornings and early afternoons and I cover the rest so that's why you'll see responses from both of us depending on when you post. Also given that you mentioned you had the router in a closet that seems to indicate you may have had some issues or problems previously and that you were unable to refund or replace it hence why you put it away so we just want to make sure that we cover every avenue as we do with everyone to see whether we can bring it back to life. The MAC addresses won't be affecting that and it's normal that it can change very slightly like that. What do you actually see at the moment when trying to access the interface via the IP address in your browser, does it show anything at all?- 35 replies
