Steady Ping causing unintended lag to Whatsapp
Netduma Fraser replied to AsNCo's topic in Netduma R3 Support
There have been rumblings that Steady Ping has been affecting devices not added to the Geo-Filter so this sounds like it is plausible, thank you for the report, I will pass it onto the team to look into. -
Rainbow six siege smartboost prioritization
Netduma Fraser replied to JayC7's topic in Netduma R3 Support
You only need to prioritize it in one way so either the device, gaming or the game itself, if you remove all but one does it prioritize correctly. Good advice above for the Geo-Filter aspect. -
R3 > Oribi (AP mode) > Device Manager
Netduma Fraser replied to mindlash's topic in Netduma R3 Support
That is very strange, thanks for the reports, I'll get the team to have a look and see what they can improve! -
Not sure it's official but I've sent you the .21 version, let us know how you get on
-
Sent to you all via PM. Yes it's possible to downgrade if you have the firmware file for the version you want

Xr500 as extender?
Netduma Fraser replied to jmoorect1979's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
No worries, no I can't foresee any issues, the devices connected to the XR should appear on the device manager of the R3 so you can manage them individually with DumaOS 4 -
That's really great to hear, thanks for the update, I've passed your suggestion along. You're very welcome!

Good suggestion, I'll pass that onto the team!

Problema dati non rilevati con dhcp
Netduma Fraser replied to Damiano Calafiore's topic in Netduma R3 Support
That doesn't make any sense, if anything I would have expected it to be the other way around. If you have the R3 using DHCP, have you put the R3 in the DMZ on the ISP modem/router? You will need to do that to ensure traffic isn't interfered with - that could be why it's better with the R3 handling PPPoE/VLAN as there is nothing upstream interfering, however the DMZ as I mentioned should achieve a similar affect. -
NetdumaR2 nach reboot immer auf reset
Netduma Fraser replied to VeniVidiVici's topic in Netduma R2 Support
Unplug the R2 from power, wait for 30 seconds, hold the Factory Reset button, while continuing to hold plug the power back into the R2 and keep holding the reset for 30 seconds then release. Wait 4 minutes, then try accessing please, do a normal reboot and see if it has reset again please. -
We are aware of some UPnP issues so that will be resolved, in the meantime utilizing port forwarding should allow you to get an open NAT. Also, If your ISP modem/router has WiFi, set it up so that it is in bridge or modem mode, you can also use the DMZ. Copy the WAN IP from the R3 (found in Settings > WAN) and enter it into the DMZ function on the ISP modem/router. Steady Ping can stabilize a game when you're unable to ping a server so both don't need to be happening for it to work. If you're playing on a console, try this, remove the console from the Geo-Filter and in the Device Manager change it to a PC then re-add it to the Geo-Filter, does it work better then?

Are you seeing anything on the map at all when it says in active?

Geo-Filter Not Working for The Finals
Netduma Fraser replied to DaBoy98's topic in Netduma R3 Support
What platform are you playing the Finals on? When playing does SmartBOOST show traffic? -
Could you provide a screenshot of what you're seeing on the map when it is connecting you outside the radius please?
-
On SmartBOOST when you're playing is it actually detecting and prioritizing traffic and so just not being shown or is it not prioritizing at all? The WiFi should be comparable yes, try this: Split the bands, give 2.4/5GHz different names and apply - you'll want to connect to 5GHz specifically for speeds Use a WiFi analyzer to find the least congested channel and change to that Experiment with the widths to see what gives better results Ensure it's in an elevated position - not on a metal surface Ensure there aren't any electrical / wireless devices e.g headphones etc within close proximity ~3 feet if possible Set the antennae to this position _ | | _

You're very welcome, thank you for the kind words. That's fair enough, new firmware will start coming out next week so you should see lots of improvements then.
-
Disable GeoLatency Disable PingAssist (set it to 0,0) Enable Strict Mode Disable Fast Search Then restart game or wait 10 minutes (in the lobby in the game). If that doesn't work, reboot PC/Console and it should work then.

Wish there was stronger hardware
Netduma Fraser replied to Aimz's topic in Feature Ideas & Improvements for DumaOS
I totally understand your point, at our heart we're a software company so bringing out multiple models would be a massive undertaking for us and very expensive! Just having a quick look at Netgears' net worth it's in the hundreds of millions, we certainly don't have that kind of budget. Never say never, the next one would be an improvement in hardware so probably would support higher than 1Gbps but we're not even entertaining that at the moment having just launched the R3.
