Your bufferbloat score only matters if your connection is saturated, otherwise it will not determine how well the game is playing. The modem you play on what is the model of it? -
What firmware version are you on currently?

Have you put your console in the R2 DMZ by any chance?

Bufferbloat HELP! - XR500
Netduma Fraser replied to Wintercabin's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
You've not entered your correct speeds, you'll need to enter that in the Congestion Control menu . It doesn't disable anything for any devices. Once you have your speeds entered correctly try again- 25 replies

We've made a new firmware, it's in Early Access, I've given you access, see if you see the same on that firmware: https://forum.netduma.com/forum/151-netduma-r3-early-access/

Random disconnects with new firmware
Netduma Fraser replied to Achilles's topic in Netduma R3 Support
That's good to know thanks, at least we've found a similarity between the two of you - I think we're probably going to leave it running over the weekend with the switch connected and see if we can get a disconnect -

Disable PingAssist (set it to 0,0) Enable Strict Mode Disable Fast Search Use Simple instead of Custom radius Then restart game or wait 10 minutes (in the lobby in the game). If that doesn't work, reboot PC/Console and it should work then.

Bufferbloat HELP! - XR500
Netduma Fraser replied to Wintercabin's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Goodput just makes speedtests more reliable. Congestion Control limits your speeds to ensure that your connection can't be saturated (which causes bufferbloat). In most cases you won't need to adjust Bandwidth Allocation. There are ? icons on all panels that tell you more about the features. Start with a high value for Congestion Control, say 95% then do the test, decrease by 10%, test, decrease by 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good and then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved. It's important to note that Download & Upload on Congestion Control don't have to be the same value and that you may have a better experience with differing values.- 25 replies

It's a ping based filtering method, it's in the Geo-Filter settings - click three dots top right of the page

QoS can help you achieve that. What are you confused about specifically?- 25 replies

We've just implemented some VLAN fixes for the new firmware in Early Access if you can give it a try and let us know if the issue still happens -
Bufferbloat HELP! - XR500
Netduma Fraser replied to Wintercabin's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
What do you mean? Bufferbloat is caused by a saturated network, the only way to prevent that is to not saturate it or use QoS, the router operating system wouldn't make a difference. If you also flashed the router to OpenWRT you likely won't be able to make it back to DumaOS.- 25 replies

It is an issue we know about but don't worry it's not affecting your ability to prioritize or filter at all

Play consistently that way for a few days just to check it's not a coincedence -

Thanks, we're going to plug a switch in and see if we can reproduce it! -
Pretty good explanation above!

Try with the simple mode instead of polygon, does it work as expected then?

OSRS Ping Optimization
Netduma Fraser replied to InternetIsNice's topic in Feature Ideas & Improvements for DumaOS
Based on what you've mentioned, the time of day is significant, if it's fine and stable during the morning then the router can't be having an issue/be incorrectly setup - the issue you're seeing is peak time congestion I suspect, either on the game side or more likely from your ISP side. This usually occurs when there are a lot of people in your area all using the internet at once and more often using the same ISP - there isn't much you can do about it other than potentially change to an ISP that is less popular. -

You'll need to have QoS on to optimize that, experiment with the Congestion Control percentages while set to Always and you should be able to get it down- 25 replies

Yeah it's looking like an auth error so just double check the username/password are correct and try again. I don't know if it's the case here but sometimes providers give you a user/pass specifically for connecting to the VPN, independent from the details used to login on their site.
