The Linksys shouldn't be in bridge mode in that situation, you'll have to check with the nodes really on how the router needs to be set. The Geo-Filter itself wouldn't increase ping just by being on, unless you have Steady Ping enabled perhaps?
-
How is the Linksys connected, in router mode or AP mode? Is the gaming device directly connected to the R3? Where are you checking the ping?
-
No worries, I'll respond to your email

That's great to hear, thanks for the update!

Can’t watch anything on Netflix, Crunchyroll etc

Disable Adblocker on the router then try again, does it work then? -
Geo Filter and uPnP Doesn't Work
Netduma Fraser replied to Semih Akten's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Okay so you can see and ping everything now, it just shows as inactive? If so we are aware of that but it won't affect the functionality. -
I would disable the MAC randomization then reboot the console. What router are you using, have you made any changes to the xbox on the router? HDMI is a cable that doesn't connect to the internet so I can say confidently there is 0% that has happened.

It's a default forum software setting, not something we have specifically specified

You shouldn't be getting strict NAT if the R3 is directly connected to the wall/ONT. Could you do the method at the bottom of this guide and let me know the result please? https://support.netduma.com/en/support/solutions/articles/16000076587-dumaos-optimal-settings-guide-open-nat

Geo Filter and uPnP Doesn't Work
Netduma Fraser replied to Semih Akten's topic in Netduma R3 Support
What firmware version are you on? How have you added the device to the Geo-Filter? Make sure you add it before you go on the game. -
Do keep in mind, anyone who is tempted to do the above that you will not be able to get back to DumaOS.
-
The screenshots provided there was for local IPs, in which IPv6 isn't required for LAN devices to have IPv6 being used - when you go on Network and it shows current network status on the right, what does it show there?
-
Thank you, I'll pass it on to be corrected

Super weird! Glad it's working now, do let us know if it happens again.

That's true, with Steady Ping it does open up games/markets we couldn't fully improve before! We'd never say no to some captures, it would certainly help speed it up, thanks! https://forum.netduma.com/topic/51505-adding-new-games-and-applications-to-dumaos/

I don't think one is better than the other necessarily but if you try to not put the NAT check the game does through the VPN then it may appear open but really if you're using a VPN then you're not going to get an Open NAT. For connecting to the VPN using UDP or TCP doesn't matter, you can use either, I doubt you'd notice any difference between the two in terms of performance. 80/443 is used for general traffic like browsing websites. I don't think it's necessary to specifically block ports, as long as you don't have your network open to the internet then you're fine.

How have you set the Etisalat router to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g. R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode
-
Have you disabled DHCP or blocked the device in Device Manager or made an Internet Rule, anything like that?
-
Why is Geo not working with traffic Rule??
Netduma Fraser replied to Christian2112's topic in Netduma R2 Support
Traffic Controller is essentially a parental control feature, it's not a prioritization feature, by making a rule here you're superseding the Geo-Filter - presumably you're allowing all traffic to the device when the Geo-Filter is trying to restrict traffic - you're essentially telling the router to do opposite things at the same time. You just need Traffic Prioritization on the QoS page. -
I don't think anyone has requested this game as it's not our demographic and we tested it many years ago and it didn't work with the Geo-Filter and just caused you to get penalties so we just left it alone. I'll ask the team to test it for use with SmartBOOST, Steady Ping etc.
-
It has been requested before and it was something we were looking into at one time, I think once we've got the R3 to a place we want it that's probably something we can revisit.

One day of ownership - wifi drop outs, slow speed.
Netduma Fraser replied to Danmc17's topic in Netduma R3 Support
That's weird, I've not seen it before, I'll pass it on just in case though. Is there any pattern you can see regarding when you get the disconnect at all? -
Glad to hear it's working better for you now! Two things to keep in mind for a new update, if you're having an issue that you weren't previously it's always good to do an update. Also settings that may have worked on a previous version may not be the best settings on the new version so you may need to fine tune - particularly with QoS.

Well done, thanks for helping!
