BO3 Beta Netduma Reports

Ha Hah!  You have you go to the Xbox Store and "download" the Black Ops III Multiplayer Beta (duh), which is like 13.68GB.  Mine went right to "Installing", but the [Duma] shows a 53.5-55.0 Mbit, with some 1.0GB spikes.

Well, I am home and looking at the XB1 screen. Digital copy and there is no other information accept a button that says "Play it on 11/06/2015" and that's about it. Anyone else?

 

Highlighted a Black Ops 3 Digital Deluxe Edition and there is a "Manage" button, which allegedly is how I initiate the download, but no joy yet if I push the button, it takes me to a mostly black screen. Maybe it populates later? *shrug*

Z...all you gotta do is unplug your modem,then the duma,let the modem reset and plug the duma back in and you'll be open.At least on PS4 that was the trick,glad your enjoying the game...

But I like it a lot wish they had left toughness or took flinch out but I've got the hang of drooping my shots now.

I just can't enough of the Beta so now I just got a code off of someone posting it up on twitter.
And now, I am killing it with my PS4 controller via bluetooth vs keyboard & mouse warriors on PC.

My experience with the beta started awful. I don't rage alot but man these first days of the beta were terrible for me. 

I deleted every COD on my Ps4 hdd and was happy. Then I forced myself to install the games again and the beta. 

My experience with the R1 was ok-ish because of the location of my region. Then I changed my geofilter again and oh boy I had a blast playing the beta and also AW!

 

I can't tell what it is. Maybe it's the R1 cloud update or Activision did something with their servers but I had so much fun like in the old days of Black Ops 1. There were some laggy games in the BO3 beta but they were playable for me. I had lot less shoot first and die moments than I had before. I'm looking forward to play the whole game in November. And yes I know, the beta is the game we will get on day one, just with a weapon balance patch or something like that. I'm ok with that. 

 

Without the Netduma R1 I wouldn't have this amazing experience I had with the beta for sure. Great product!

What's your settings on the R1?  Can you pls put a screen shot of the geo page?  Also, are you throttling yet, if so what are you using?

Honestly guys, from my experience with the PS4 and currently the PC Beta, the best settings are
- To set everything to 100% on the congestion settings with the Share Excess button ticked. Most importantly, select Preemptive.
- Then as for the Bandwidth control, I put both up and down to 200 mbps.
- Then I just Disabled the Geo-Filter.

For PS4 players wanting to continue to get their fix on PC, I use DS4Windows and just connect my PS4 controller wirelessly. In my experience, I think there may be a bit of an aim assist or maybe I'm just accurate with a controller.

But it sure feels good to beat the keyboard & mouse players to a pulp. Am so proud to get this Game Ending killcam on my latest PC gameplay.

You don't even need a code.

 

Just go to your Steam library and the Beta should be waiting to download. Also, it's going free this weekend, just like the PS4 one did. The irony is this is the best way to get people to buy the game because they can literally "try before they buy" which is almost unheard of these days.

I know I got on early, was playing by about 2030hrs PST, and there were a ton of bastards out there who played the PS4 Beta and came over but GOD DAMN!  Last night was some SERIOUS TRYHARD mode just to break even.  I am not even sure I have a positive ANYTHING this morning man, I was getting RAPED.  

 

I am a Treyarch guy, I prefer their titles thus far in my limited CoD lifetime and I really like the new game.  I had no problems getting into games with the Geo-Filter set and my home location covering Washington State.  I played the first 7 levels of progression, which was an hour plus of gaming, and only experienced one freeze/boot all situation.  The rest of the time it ran fine, no problem getting lobbies, no problems finding local games.  I didn't notice a dedicated server all evening, all P2P, but truth be told that wasn't exactly my primary objective last night.  

 

I am in the process of having a perfectly balanced breakfast prepared by the team chef, then my morning positivity coach will be up to run me through some mental drills, then my hand stretching coach will get me warmed up and I should be jumping on in about an hour.  LOL  

 

It's a good thing the wife is going to work today.  I suspect a bad-language rating will be needed around here today.  

 

Overall - Loving the new game.  Could do with a few more "casual" lobbies.

Good summary - wish I had a string of coaches.  I have only been on for a couple of hours and have resumed my normal position as target - it seems like some of these folks have been playing forever.  I agree a lot must have moved over from PS4.

 

About every second game it gets laggy or it seems jerky.  I hope it smooths out soon.

 

One concern I have is that it says my NAT is Moderate yet when I look at the Xbox Network settings it shows OPEN - any comments much appreciated.

 

Like what I have seen so far - only one game with positive K/D but some have been close to breakeven...

Yeah. These are some sweaty lobbies. They're are doing at level 1 what PS4 lvl 40's are doing. And the dropshotting is CRAZY. I think these guys think this is an MLG match.

I can report the same thing. Moderate NAT, laggy and sweaty lobbies. The game played better on the PS4 and even looked better more vibrant colors. Xbox looks dull and faded.

If your stuck on moderate nat,unplug your modem,then the duma.Plug your modem back in and wait until it reboots then plug your duma back in.That's what we had to do on PS4 anyway

News from the PC world regarding the BO3 beta...

 

It plays MUCH better than the PS4 for me.

 

PS4 wasn't bad, but PC feels like I am on LAN. I'm finally the one who gets the kills while other guys/gals unload an entire clip into me and I don't die. Hey, I'll take it anways I can getz it

 

I'm using the XBox PA system since CoD on PC uses that as their backbone. So, when I go to play XB1 this afternoon, I'm not even going to change settings. For once, a "one size fits all" approach seems to work best. I think I've pulled host a couple of times because I was the first one in the map while everybody else was loading? I'll have to check the Duma to confirm, but like I said, I'll takes it anyway I can getz it - lol.

 

The PC version itself is nice, but not optimized at all. It drops down to mid-20fps at certain times. So, I just lowered the resolution to a typical XB1 resolution of 1536x864 and now it's smooth as silk. I limited the fps to 60Hz using vsync because I can't stand tearing. The beta can go as high as 120, or even unlimited, but honestly, there is no reason for that considering consoles perform perfectly well at 60Hz / 60fps, and also because I know for a fact the servers aren't running above 30Hz (tick) rate, anyway.

That'll work on the Xbox for sure? Because a friend rebooted everything and it is still Moderate for him. It may be the servers they are connecting to.

I have given up on it, and deleted the beta. It has played like AW on a bad day for me, very laggy, losing virtually every gunfight.

 

So don't think I will be getting the full version until all the bugs have been ironed out.

 

But, again it's the connection issue that will determine whether this is a success or not.........

I see no dedicated servers on the XB1 version, the PS4 version had them in the same places AW does.

 

​The games on the XB1 beta have been hit and miss, I think the PS4 version will be the better console version but time will tell.

I do wish they would just get rid of TDM. It's a horrible handfuls that brings out the worst in players. It's what they start on and then if they accidentally play an obj game they don't know what to do. To this day I have a friend who I got into play CoD who w/o t play anything but TDM. Drives me crazy.

I prefer TDM above all, the objective is kill all enemies.

PC players are stupid as fuck, and yes, I am one of them.

 

There was a kid with 200ms ping in the game and that screwed everything and everybody over. He had (at end of game) 40/8, and when I politely asked him to leave during the match he just replied with the typical adolescent "STFU. Ping does not mean anything!"

 

I give up.

 

The educational system in this country is terrible and these Millennials think they know everything when they know jack shit.

 

THIS is what screws up these games. It's A$$tivision's f-ed match making system that allows everybody to play even when they shouldn't. I don't mean to be elitist, but the fact this kid probably has DSL out  in the middle of nowhere, yet can get the highest score in the game says loads about how messed up the game's netcode is itself.

 

Sorry, for the rant, but this is one reason why I am slowly turning away from MP games on all platforms...

Well nothing's a "for sure" fix but it seemed to work for the PS4 guys,that being said if he's moderate on other COD's he's probably gonna be moderate on the beta.

I won't lie, my large friend, there has been some adult language that is for sure...LOL

 

I do agree that the hit detection needs some tweaking.  I am a Blops 2 guy, with all it's flaws, and I am willing to admit that!  The pings have been very good, less than 40ms in every lobby, but I still shoot first, hit them, and then get melted.    

 

When the fuck does Flak Jacket unlock?  The grenade rain is REAL.  Holy hell, I bet I have had as many deaths to grenades as I have to guns...LOL  The Specialists aren't even a concern at the moment.  I have killed myself more with my fancy Specialist abilities than I have been killed by them....*D'oh*

 

Battle Beaver Controller:  This is the most I have used it since I got it and I am loving it.  The electronic trigger stops are faster than the Scufs, I am sure of it.  My reflexes, as good as I still think they are/were, are nowhere near as good as most of these kids and I am still shooting first.  There is a default class that offers a 3-round burst AR and the BB trigger lets me rip the rounds.  I used it for like 3 games straight and I can't wait to unlock that M8...LOL

 

• Upgraded Triggers:  Huge plus, definitely worth the upgrade. 
• Aluminum Sticks: Meh, I don't quite know.  They are just a tad bit small in diameter at the top.  Nothing of concern, but I do play with Kontrol Freak-esque stick cap and it doesn't quite fit right and has cost me a couple of gunfights, I am sure.
• Upgraded Tension:  Yeah, I am going there.  OMG!!  This is AMAZING.  I got increased stick tension on the right stick, as I have a dead spot in my right thumb's AOM, and this has made me more accurate and stopped me from crouching out of random, kill-robbing, fashion.  Definitely a huge plus.
• Bottom Buttons:  Still getting used to them, but I do like them.  I have to consciously remember to keep my ring finger pads on them, I tend to relax and tense my grip a lot while I play apparently, but they work great.  Sometimes it has felt that my Scuf paddle didn't seem to transfer my qwitch-spastic reaction, but I haven't had any problems with them. 

All in all I think the Battle Beaver has been a good purchase and I am enjoying the Beta.  Truthfully the Beta a little less as I made the choice to sleep last night while others were grinding and getting valuable unlocks, like Flak Jacket, but it feels like a newer version of Blops 2 with some strange maps.  

 

I'll see how today treats me as I have just unlocked the EMP grenades and want to see if they work as well, of if they are just a mild annoyance.
