You have to do it manually and not use find my speed option on the speed test. Go to speed test - advanced - then put your speeds in. I suggest from personal experience knock 5-10% off what your isp gives you and then start bufferbloat test manually but adjusting the sliders starting at 75% download and 85% upload. After many screwing arounds you’ll eventually land an A* score. It took me 3 hours 😂! Also best bet is to do this configuration when your household is very busy as you’ll get the best results this way.

Thank you guys soo much for helping me...I dont know much about networking..but with you guys im learning more and more.... So bufferbloat of A+ is the gold standard and what I should be shooting for right? Would you accept just an "A" ? Also to setup WIFI 6 you need to manually set the 5ghz band to 160MHZ frequency right?

On the 5ghz I have mine set to 20mhz as the distance that signal will carry may not be all that great set at 160. Guess its trial and error.

A is exceptable but if you can get A+, yeah go for the best.

Bravo, the router should have been released with this version, no more processor overload problems, the bufferbloat is perfect
still some problems with upnp but overall the update meets my expectations.
Very good work ;)

So I installed the new fw and did a hard reset. Ran through the wizard normally. I did not enable ad block. I noticed that STP was defaulted to disable so I didn't enable it. I ran with the speed I got from the tests as it's close enough. I did go into advanced ping settings setting the sliders to 70% and always on - disabled speed test bypass. When I went to do a bufferbloat test I was getting C's across the board every time. Once I disabled ipv6 I was back to getting A's. I pay for 1000/35 gigablast Internet. The R3 (and ookla) see 886/42. Also on a side note when ipv6 was enabled and I was getting speed test results - I would get really stupid low numbers for a few seconds like <1Mbps then it would shoot up. Never usually does that as it normally just shoots up right away. When I disabled ipv6 that issue stopped and the tests did respond normally. I haven't had time to game yet today but I hope this info helps.

I resynced the cloud on both a few times and no change...still no games listed. Played some apex and the experience was good in game, servers appeared and for the most part I was in the geo filter but was often in EU servers, I am in US.

Have you tried reflashing the FW?

Job well done guys, still getting A+ on buffer bloat test, cpu is a lot more stable used to be above 50% spikes to 100% with 2 ps5s connect now down to 20-30% big difference and no random spikes either. I don't have knowledge of routing or anything with internet, but what I did was just disabled IPV6 LAN and WAN and slowly work my way down on my ISP internet speeds for buffer bloat until I got an A+ I had everything hooked up online 2 ps5s while doing buffer bloat test on computer with lan cable connected. Been steady so far. I don't use geo filter nor ping optimizer, well I manually move the sliders for percentage when testing buffer bloat. hit marker/registration feel nice and aim assist feels like I'm not behind target at all even on higher ping lobbies, feels more direct.

Do you have to do factory reset?

Guys, if you have full gigabit speeds, try Advanced Speeds set to 1000 for both up and down.
Then on Congestion Control Mode, set it to Auto. It will lower your speeds slightly, but the trade off is much more stable ping. Allowing me to achieve A+ from A when it was set to Low Latency Only.
Depending on what you get with Low Latency Only, you might see an improvement to the ping values especially when you set it to Auto.

Even though there's not much reason to having low latency when you're not gaming, it might be great for Home Automation devices to respond to your actions more promptly thanks to having lower ping.

On a side note, 0ms ping for both up and down is now easily achievable at higher speeds than last time where I need to set it a lot lower in CC.

We haven't done anything with IPv6 specifically so it makes sense but thanks for letting us know that's still happening

This won't work if your speeds are not being picked correctly. I tried that and it added BB to my connection so put it back to what it was set to 535 D 830 U and went back to A+. I have 1 gig connection.

I'm guessing this update still does not fix the WPS button functionality?

Definitely feels much better than the previous 4.0.23 firmware. Had to reset my router after upgrade as wifi speeds suddenly dropped very low. Would recommend everyone for a factory reset after upgrading to this new version.

Everyone connection will be different when it comes to Congestion Control settings. There are various possible reasons as to why, but in the end. It all narrows down to, plainly, how your ISP handles your connection.

Now, with that said, Ping Optimizer will try to establish your connection from not having HUGE ping spikes when your connection is saturated with many devices. So it will give you a baseline result in being able to maintain numerous devices and still be able to game.

Now, the beauty with DumaOS, is the ability to utilize many tools that are packed into DumaOS. SmartQOS is just one of them to be able to 'automatically' do it for you.

Ping Optimizer having the option 'Advanced' is exactly for those wanting to 'FINE TUNE' their settings to get it right for their network/gaming environment.

I don't have asymmetrical gigabit, so I can utilize Ping Optimizers 'Advanced' settings and fine tune my settings to say half. So, instead of me using 950d/40u down, I just enter my speeds manually to 500d/20u, and I get A+ with 0ms on bufferbloat. Of course, this is an extreme case, But, I state this to say that everyone connection will not be the same.

One thing is for certain; once you get your connection to A+ with 0ms bufferbloat. You do have a more enjoyable experience in gaming. I say anything below +5ms is fairly good. But, 0ms is best.

Just take a little time and get your congestion control right for your bufferbloat. You'll get it. R3 is 100% capable of getting you 0ms.

Everything is working as it should, even getting much better speed test results now too that are within 10-15 Mbps of my actual speed. My ONLY complaint, AdBlocker isn't blocking anything now. I see zero lists in place on my router but I suppose I can add some in on my own, so if the team has suggestions that would be great.

My update process was as follows:

I powered off the router first, plugged it directly to my PC with no internet attached, powered it back up, installed new FW and then factory reset. After the reset, I let it soak while I made me a drink. Then, I rebooted it after so it had time to fully build in the new firmware. I then gave it internet from my ONT and did the setup, working flawlessly now. Gonna start testing some more and will report back, so far so good guys!

I dared to switch on AdBlocker an hour ago after a good solid day of gaming and it didnt affect anything to my knowledge. It was blocking stuff though on my PC.
