XR500 Setup on BT fibre
Netduma Fraser replied to Glynn_A's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Let us know how you get on, any issues and we'll be happy to help -
So the first error, looks like you may have entered the credentials incorrectly, give the router a reboot, wait 2 minutes then access the interface, does it load correctly then?
-
Judging by your IP on the forum you're not using IPv6 so that is strange. Are you using automatic network settings on the console itself or manual? Have you made any console specific settings on the router?

Using hybridVPN and streaming meanwhile bugged?
Netduma Fraser replied to Lolitahell's topic in Netduma R2 Support
Depending on your streaming software it may tell you in settings, otherwise you can find it online and depending on where you look that may differ but TCP 1935 is the main one as far as I am aware. -
Did you do a reboot when you connected to the ONT? If not please do so, ensure you've set the MAC on the R2 to match the fritz and then check unprioritized packets

I know they used to use PPPoE but I'm not sure if they do anymore but yes in theory you should be able to connect it to that box and it will work. -
Netduma App
Netduma Fraser replied to The Honest Tiger's topic in Feature Ideas & Improvements for DumaOS
As we use a popular forum platform it may not be as easy to make it into an app but actually the mobile version of the forum is pretty good and I use it myself quite a bit -
Yes exactly!

Are you actually using the in built streaming capability of the console? If so then it's possible that you could be restricting the stream yes. I would recommend starting a test stream then taking a look at the Geo-Filter Map zoomed out, anything that appears outside the radius/blocked add it to your allow list and that should prevent any issues when using the Geo-Filter and streaming.

You can do it like you do with Sky, you may be able to ditch the ISP modem, it depends on how that is connected through your wall, you may need a MoCA adapter to do that. A reset is recommended but not required, just once you're all set give the XR a reboot to re-establish the connection. -
GeoFilter not working on Warzone
Netduma Fraser replied to Kohdaa's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
When first booting up the game pings all available servers to see what you can/can't connect to/what your ping is to each one so that's quite normal. If you close the game completely so you go back to dashboard that is fine, just wait 2 minutes and any connections will be disconnected and you can try again - a reboot though may be faster. -
It's possible that there is confusion when receiving packets as it's not sure whether to go to the Fritz or the R2 due to the MAC address cloning, on second thoughts, you can keep the R2 with the Fritz MAC plug directly into the ONT and you should receive good speeds as it will think it is the Fritz.
-
I would suggest connecting back directly to the ONT then, it may take some time but your speeds should then return as they did get higher with MAC cloning

GeoFilter not working on Warzone
Netduma Fraser replied to Kohdaa's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Most likely what is happening is other people are trying to do the same thing as you, that means more population in one area allows the algorithm to better match skill -
That's fair enough, did you experience the packet loss prior to making that change? What changes were made 2 days ago just before the packet loss occurred if any?

Hey, welcome to the forum! Unfortunately circumventing SBMM isn't something we support so you may need to look elsewhere to get the answers you want. For us the router is for ensuring you get the best connection possible not to get around a skill mechanic. -
Is there a specific reason you're using MAC Address cloning? Could you disable that please then reboot the R2 and see if it resolves the issue
-
It'll be in their tutorial or support section, if you can't find it then it's best to contact their support
-
Hard to say at the moment, you said you did some Traffic Controller rules, could you provide a screenshot of that page please? What is the model of the modem/router the R2 is connected to?
-
The unprioritized packets there indicate packet loss, you're losing 5% of the packets you're receiving, depending on what you're doing that may be fine. If you're allowing all traffic to the Geo-Filter device then yes it would supersede it, there is no need to make a controller rule for that
-
Reboot the modem, wait 2 minutes, then reboot the R2, wait 2 minutes then see if you're able to access after that

Using hybridVPN and streaming meanwhile bugged?
Netduma Fraser replied to Lolitahell's topic in Netduma R2 Support
Okay so two ways of doing it, add your PC with Do NOT VPN these services then add a rule for the port that streaming uses, or you can use Only VPN these services and then input the ports that the game uses. -
Restart WAN without restarting router

What platform are you playing on and are you playing/streaming from the same device? E.g playing on console and using their in built streaming? -
Using hybridVPN and streaming meanwhile bugged?
Netduma Fraser replied to Lolitahell's topic in Netduma R2 Support
Using a VPN in general will add latency and so we don't usually advise it for gaming or streaming. Are you wanting to VPN both or one or the other? If you want to VPN then the best way to limit the additional latency is to choose the closest server possible to your actual location.
