XR500 and Rapp not loading
Netduma Fraser replied to JHConnors's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Sorry to hear you're having this issue, did you do a factory reset after the upgrade? If not I would recommend doing that first. What web browser is that you're using? Go to the System Information page and then in the Rapp panel menu ≡ change the retries to 5, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes before accessing and see if it works then please. -
Can you provide a screenshot of the QoS page please? Are ALL devices connected to the R2?
-
When you turn IPv6 are you turning it off on the LAN & WAN? As I can see it's off for LAN but not WAN, if you're not then that could be the problem. It can be off and will use the default value. Can you disable IPv6 on LAN & WAN then see if it gets a connection please?

Ps5 set up guide
Netduma Fraser replied to madman123's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
I think you may be referring to Bandwidth Allocation which is the central feature on the QoS page and Traffic Prioritization you just add rules. For Traffic Prio if the console is connected wired select normal and use the Apply to WAN option as well. What is the model of the modem/router the XR is connected to? Are ALL devices connected to the XR? -
Traffic Prioritization shouldn't affect how the Geo-Filter works, how did you add the PC to it exactly? Using the Geo-Filter shouldn't cause that, it just blocks/allows servers so as long as you're playing on an allowed server it should be fine, when you have the desync look at the Geo-Filter Map zoomed out, is there anything appearing as blocked?

If you're in cascading mode on the fritz then it shouldn't be needed so yes try it without
-
Ah I see, use it in cascade mode then, you will get a better experience without the R2 handling PPPoE currently. If you're connecting behind the fritz you shouldn't really need to use the MAC anymore now you've got full speeds in cascade so I'd suggest leaving it like that and you should be good
-
Ah that's disappointing, we'll check in with the devs to see how they're doing on the issue and check the logs to see if there is any more useful info.
-
They could be using a VPN or the router or some other method - it is very unlikely the game is connecting them to the server naturally unless they live somewhere very remote where that is the closest server
-
Unfortunately you're not able to control who joins the servers just the server you connect to
-
Generally I would say yes and you may not need the VPN, however the further away you are the more difficult it may be as your ping may reach a limit that the game may have.
-
Could you set manual DNS in the router WAN Settings and then restart the console and see if it works with IPv6 off please?
-
I do like the idea but I do have a few thoughts, we have in our minds what we recommend but that doesn't work for everyone, every household/connection is different and as such we suggest people experiment to find what works for them. Also we have made specific instructions in the past for particular posts but people post how they want to, not how we would like them to haha. That's part of the reason we haven't made a template for support posts because we tried it and it didn't work out.
-
That is expected, OpenVPN is a slower protocol, combined with the router hardware does slow it down. That's why we created HybridVPN so you could apply it to a specific application/service on the device and everything else on that device can go through your normal connection and get full speeds. Although you have to apply to the console as a whole if you want to put it behind the VPN.

Just type forum.netduma.com into your mobile browser -
When did this start happening? Has it ever worked with IPv6 disabled?
-
You can mention it here, no worries at all

XR500 Setup on BT fibre
Netduma Fraser replied to Glynn_A's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Let us know how you get on, any issues and we'll be happy to help -
So the first error, looks like you may have entered the credentials incorrectly, give the router a reboot, wait 2 minutes then access the interface, does it load correctly then?
-
Judging by your IP on the forum you're not using IPv6 so that is strange. Are you using automatic network settings on the console itself or manual? Have you made any console specific settings on the router?

Using hybridVPN and streaming meanwhile bugged?
Netduma Fraser replied to Lolitahell's topic in Netduma R2 Support
Depending on your streaming software it may tell you in settings, otherwise you can find it online and depending on where you look that may differ but TCP 1935 is the main one as far as I am aware. -
Did you do a reboot when you connected to the ONT? If not please do so, ensure you've set the MAC on the R2 to match the fritz and then check unprioritized packets

Netduma Fraser replied to Glynn_A's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
I know they used to use PPPoE but I'm not sure if they do anymore but yes in theory you should be able to connect it to that box and it will work. -

As we use a popular forum platform it may not be as easy to make it into an app but actually the mobile version of the forum is pretty good and I use it myself quite a bit
