At the moment no but I think it is something we're looking into. So Ping Assist compatibility with a VPN basically? I can add that to the list.

We don't have a specific measurement but it is WiFi 6 so it'll be more than enough for the average sized home -

There is no mesh functionality but you could connect 2 together if you want, if would just be like connecting to normal routers together. -
No you're just using the radius so it's just focusing on the servers in that area - any will be allowed and the game will decide which one you'll connect to. IPs are mapped to the map of the world so you know where you are, you draw your radius, anything outside is blocked, anything inside is allowed. Yes sounds like it's mislocated, if you provide the ID we can correct that

NEW XR450 BETA FIRMWARE: 3.3.535
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Lew's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Are you definitely on RC14 and not the intermediary firmware as you're getting a lot of issues I wouldn't expect, especially with areas we haven't touched at all -
Thanks for the video, this looks like expected behavior, the game is searching for a server within that ping limit that it thinks you should be able to connect to so it then tries the initiate the connection. The server is outside your radius so it gets blocked and then it has to research for a game you can connect to. The fewer servers you have covered by your area/radius the longer your search times may be as out of all the possible servers you're trying to connect to 1 or 2. It's the trade off of being able to force the servers you want essentially.

XR1000 wiring Setup
Netduma Fraser replied to Cemo99's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
It's connected via ethernet by the looks of it so it doesn't have anything to show for WiFi details -
Hello, welcome to the forum! To answer your questions: There is no guarantee you'll get 'X' ping. If you're experiencing local congestion or connecting to further away servers then yes your ping will likely decrease using the router. They're probably using a VPN to force a specific country but no we don't circumvent SBMM, it's unlikely forcing close servers will allow that to happen Matchmaking can take a little longer in some cases, it depends how many servers you have covered. If you're trying to force one specific server then it may take a little longer if the game is trying to force you elsewhere. We can't compare it to another router in that way as it depends on many factors but we have been doing a lot of testing and improvements to WiFi so it should be very good.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Introducing the Netduma R3
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Lew's topic in News & Announcements
A long time, we're still supporting the R2 3 years later for example From the beginning no I doubt it, translation is actually quite an expensive process, that's why it's available on the XR range and not our own. I have requested it so if possible we'll do it. We don't have that option at the moment as the whole point of the router is to be able to use the features but as we have multiple routers now we may do in future. -
PS5 does have much higher Ping then the PC/Mac

I think the web browser on the console is based on an older browser version so it won't be very optimized. Do you still have to do weird workarounds just to make the browser available? If so that kind of tells you they didn't make the browser with the idea it would be used a lot -
Ahh interesting okay, I've not seen this log entry before but to me it seems like the WiFi driver has probably failed. I'll pass it on to a dev to double check and see if there is anything we can do and I'll get back to you probably Monday/Tuesday if that's alright.

Speed test result not the same
Netduma Fraser replied to xmacx7's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
We use https://speed.measurementlab.net/#/ for the speed test aspect -
What I mean is, we (Netduma) have not coded anything on the Settings side of things, it's all done by Netgear so it would have to be them that fix it, I haven't seen the issue occur too much so I suspect it's something they have been unable to reproduce but if you contact them directly they may have a solution in the meantime.

NEW XR450 BETA FIRMWARE: 3.3.535
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Lew's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Disable Smart Connect and connect them to 2.4GHz, a lot of smart devices do not get on well with the automatic band switching used when Smart Connect is enabled. You would still get that disconnect issue if it's DHCP on the previous firmware, the workaround is the only solution unfortunately. -
