Geo-Filtering doesn't work & other grievances
Netduma Fraser replied to Zer0Aspect's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Sent it to you all, it's important to note this isn't specifically for Geo-Filter issues. That's great to hear! Ping Assist you can set a range so you can get games between 20 - 40 for example. Steady Ping adds ping to the connected server to create a buffer where ping spikes/fluctuations are absorbed, giving you a steady consistent ping throughout the entire game that gives you a smoother experience. This can be disabled by clicking Steady Ping at the top of the map, you can also adjust the buffer. -
Okay that's interesting, in theory it shouldn't matter, do let us know if you continue to believe that to be the case

MW3 Location SERVERS IN BRAZIL
Netduma Fraser replied to rlemonica's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
I'll get the team to put out an update for it, what are the issues with the Geo-Filter that you're having? -
@euphidra no need to repeat the issue, we have identified what the cause is, it is what deasha referred to above, the team are looking into this and will resolve it as soon as possible.

Okay so IPv6 off did help a little bit, if you disable the protection option in Settings > Troubleshooting > Advanced do you get even higher?
-
Set your ISP router/modem into modem/bridge mode, then you can enter PPPoE in the R3 in Settings > WAN, then reboot and you should have a connection
-
Sorry I didn't see your post until now, of course, I have sent you a private message with it.

Using R3 for DumaOS 4 Only / Access Point ?
Netduma Fraser replied to juicehound's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Sorry for any potential miscommunication, I have responded to your email. -
Likely is the above, Steady Ping will still work with Geo-Latency disabled
-
Reboot the router, wait 4 minutes then reboot the console fully and wait 2 minutes and check again, does it work correctly? If you're using the instant on/standby mode on the Xbox this could be why, in which case a full restart should allow it to work correctly

Worse jitter with R3 than ISP / XR1000 routers.
Netduma Fraser replied to m4rc3_AVL's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Could you disable the protection options in Settings > Troubleshooting > Advanced and see if that helps at all as that can drop packets -
Geo filter not working / connection through TP link?
Netduma Fraser replied to Goodwinn20's topic in Netduma R3 Support
How are you selecting specific servers exactly? Are the servers it is connecting to outside your radius/polygon? Could you clarify what you mean by this please? "also after cheating the ping make and then going back to geo filter and customising to them locating still not working ?" It's likely the ping has increased due to Steady Ping, this feature increases your ping to create a buffer so that any spikes/fluctuations are absorbed by this buffer, giving you one consistent ping throughout the entire game that doesn't change which should give you a smoother experience. The TP link is that a powerline adapter you're using or is it another router with devices connected to it? -
There will be times when the router isn't actually able to ping the server so if you see that message - could not ping server it's likely correct. It's more so an issue when it's trying to but is stuck loading as above. I would say it stabilizing the ping successfully is the optimum outcome, though it may not always be possible - it's most successful on CoD and Halo in our findings. As people have mentioned to us, the increase in ping can be seen as an issue if you don't understand why it's happening. We'll likely look into disabling this by default and additionally trying to educate people on why it is a good thing in the tour for example.

Geo-Filtering doesn't work & other grievances
Netduma Fraser replied to Zer0Aspect's topic in Netduma R3 Support
That's brilliant to hear, thanks for the update, you're very welcome! For the moment if it's been a few days since a previous update I would suggest rebooting first before upgrading, it may not be necessary but will make sure it works - we know what the issue is and will be fixing it. It's not necessary to do a factory reset after but in scenarios like the above where you're having a few issues, I think it's a good thing to do after an update so it's fresh. Gesendet -
Hello, welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear you're having these issues, for WiFi try this: Disable Mirror Mode, give 2.4/5GHz different names and apply - you'll want to connect to 5GHz specifically for speeds Use a WiFi analyzer to find the least congested channel and change to that Experiment with the widths to see what gives better results Ensure it's in an elevated position - not on a metal surface Ensure there aren't any electrical / wireless devices e.g headphones etc within close proximity ~3 feet if possible Set the antennae to this position _ | | _ For the Geo-Filter try this: Quit the application/game/client completely Remove device from the Geo-Filter Give PC PlayStation Device Type in the Device Manager (if on PC) Resync from the Geo-Filter Map menu Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter with the manual option Set up the Geo-Filter how you like Wait 2 minutes Boot up application/game/client Then see if it works better.
