It showing higher is the work of Steady Ping, giving you a solid 18ms throughout the entire game absorbing those spikes/raises in ping that you see there so it doesn't affect you, giving you a more smooth experience. I will pass onto the team about it not always showing and we'll look into it, thank you for the report!

As in rarely showing the ping or showing the server within your radius or both?
-
If you haven't changed any settings within the Geo-Filter Map settings and you restart the console/game after making any Geo-Filter settings I can't see any reason from the router side why it wouldn't be working

Cannot log into DumaOS from Mac or IOS

I'd suggest at the moment if we can get you access to connect it to the Sky Hub as there may be credentials/specific settings needed to get internet direct from the modem. So setting up with the Sky hub will have it handle any of that and allow you to use the R3 while you check if that is the case. -
Are you forcing the West Coast? As I know people have trouble trying to force servers there as they don't always seem to be available
-
What is your physical setup i.e. ISP modem/router > R3 for example and how is that setup R3 in DMZ, modem/bridge mode? Are ALL devices connected to the R3?

Looks like it's working correctly there, the server in the US is an authentication server required for online play. Also are you the party leader when playing with a friend?

Could you unplug the R3 from the modem so that the R3 is just connected to power, then while connected to the R3 WiFi try accessing the interface then, does that work? If not could you check on the phone/mac what IP address your device is getting while connected to that WiFi please? -
Can you provide a screenshot of your Geo-Filter page please?

The R3 is an independent device, it doesn't need internet to be able to connect to the interface. Are you able to connect not with internet but just to the WiFi of the R3? -
Ping Optimizer adjusts Congestion Control which eliminates bufferbloat/ping increases when your connection is being saturated i.e. under heavy use. The ping it mentions there is the ping you would have if your connection was under heavy use and the ping it changes to is the ping you would have with it applied when the connection is being heavily used. That's separate to your game ping, Steady Ping applies a buffer to your game ping, giving you a slightly higher ping that absorbs any spikes / fluctuations in the ping so you have a consistent ping throughout the whole game and gives you a better experience overall. You just need to click Steady Ping on the Geo-Filter map to adjust it. You can leave Ping Optimizer as it is, it should still be using the previous settings - we're looking into making that feature more reliable.

Okay disable Geo-Latency, reboot the console and then see if servers stay within your radius please

The internet won't work without completing the Setup Wizard which you need to be able to access the interface to complete. Hold the reset button in the back of the router (you'll need something thin like a pin) for 30 seconds, release, wait 4 minutes then try accessing and see if that works please. -
Ah that's Steady Ping, for Ping Assist you can see that in the 3 dots menu top right of the interface in the Settings part
-
Okay so to summarize, switching the PC to a console made both the ping appearing and stabilizing working a lot more consistent? Your ping for Destiny 2 is quite low however for the other games it is quite a bit higher, I think you'd benefit from using the expert mode of Steady Ping for these games to increase the buffer more, maybe up to 20/30ms and see if the game is more stable then. Changing to the console won't affect the servers or connection quality at all, that's right switching to the console is more general than specifically selecting the games which is why you don't add games using it that way.

Strange performance issues compared to XR1000
Netduma Fraser replied to Zac's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Thank you for the positives, they're great to hear! Regarding WiFi, that's disappointing, so it sounds like you've split the bands and experimented with all the channels and widths is that right? Is the router in an elevated position & not on a metal surface? If not would it be possible to place it like this? Ensure there aren't any electrical / wireless devices e.g headphones etc within close proximity ~3 feet if possible as it can interfere with the WiFi signal. Regarding the ping, Steady Ping is enabled by default which raises your ping to include a buffer so any inconsistency in the ping is absorbed by the buffer and you don't notice it. If you disable Steady Ping does your ping go back down? -
Sounds like you may have your radius too strict, how big is it?
-
Glad port forwarding is working for you, may be due to using multiple consoles, I will pass that onto the team to take a look at, thanks for the report!
-
We are looking into this issue so we can make it more reliable, is it just CoD you're noticing it not pinging reliably or other games as well? Do you have Ping Assist enabled at all?
-
As a test if you disable SmartBOOST fully does it work better then?

ANNOUNCEMENT: Introducing the Netduma R3
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Lew's topic in News & Announcements
Email [email protected] and we can send you a confirmation Is there any specific mobile games you would want supported? -
What doesn't make sense about it? Yes that is the assumption, generally the ISP modem/router will not be set like this by default and will have been manually changed by the user

Access XR1000 from WAN
Netduma Fraser replied to Réda's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
It's possible Netgear removed the option then if it's not available in the other menus, in which case it won't be possible to access the interface from the WAN side unless you activate the VPN service and then connect to the VPN to connect to it
