  1. Completely different routers & software, though whether you noticed it or not you wouldn't have been able to throttle upload properly with PPPoE on the XR500. No that wouldn't help, you need PPPoE for a connection and so if the R3 handles it then currently speeds will be lost, we are working to improve it
  2. Was just about to say, PPPoE will be the cause and so it would be best to use the EE router to have that handle it instead and plug the R3 into that, then you'd have full speeds. You can put the R3 in the DMZ on the EE router and ensure you connect all devices to the R3 and you won't be at any disadvantage. Added you to early access https://forum.netduma.com/forum/151-netduma-r3-early-access/
  3. Good to hear you've found a solution, thanks for posting it. It could well be that, I'll pass it on to the team.
  4. I've been told that yes it's compatible with gigabit now
  5. See if you can access this page to re-upgrade http://192.168.77.1/dumaweb#!/support
  6. It's very likely then that there was something happening at the time on your network causing local congestion. If it happens again check the network usage to see if anything is using a lot of bandwidth. If there is then you'll need to adjust Congestion Control/SmartBOOST to counteract it.
  7. Make sure you use speeds you've manually entered, follow this guide https://support.netduma.com/frequently-asked-questions/legacyfaqs/test-your-ping/ while downloading & start with 95% for Congestion Control (set to Always), check results, decrease by 10%, check, decrease by 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good & then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved. Download & Upload on Congestion Control don't have to be the same value & you may have a better experience with differing values.
  8. How have you set the EE router to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode Are ALL devices connected to the R3 or are some still connected to the EE router? Have you entered the speeds you pay for into the router? How have you setup Congestion Control? How have you setup SmartBOOST? What platform are you testing speeds on and how is it connected, via ethernet or WiFi? Where are you testing the speeds?
  9. Added you all
  10. That's great to hear, thanks for posting your positive experience!
  11. If you've set the speeds into the router then it is very likely the ethernet cable you're using to connect the XR to the modem or the XR to a device is limited to 100Mbps. A higher category cable - at least Cat5e will allow for 1Gbps.
  12. You can use one or the other, you don't need to use both as above
  13. If the PS5 is solely the only device being used on the router, I would still recommend reserving an IP for it and you can do either UPnP or DMZ
  14. What is the model of the modem/router the XR is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the XR? E.g XR in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode Are ALL devices connected to the XR? What are the speeds you pay for/receive? Have you entered those speeds into the router? How have you setup Congestion Control?
  15. Yeah I know but what I mean is on the End of Service page that lists all the EoS models it's not there yet so I wouldn't say it's definitive until it appears there also. As above security updates are purely NTGR so it's not something we'd continue
  16. Sorry I'm not following, what do you mean by a quest/guest host exactly?
  17. It sounds like it's a NAT/port issue then, I don't know why that would happen specifically but do you have an Open NAT without the DMZ being used? It is perfectly fine to keep the console in the DMZ.
  18. Those are ridiculously large in a I'm scared it will start scurrying across the room kind of way
  19. It's not in the official EOS list yet so it may not be the case, I have seen it report incorrectly before https://www.netgear.com/uk/about/eos
  20. Ping Heatmap will show all servers but it doesn't mean the server is always available to connect to. Do you have Geo-Latency disabled? If you're just covering the one area you can use the radius instead of polygon
  21. The ethernet cables? No we don't, they aren't specific to the router, you can pick them up very cheaply
  22. Glad to hear that, thanks will do. Different firmware may require slightly different settings to achieve the same effect due to things changing in the backend. With our next big feature it will improve QoS overall
  23. Glad to hear that's restored the speeds, we'll certainly do what we can to improve the speeds through PPPoE
