NEW R3 FIRMWARE - DumaOS 4.0.540
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Alex's topic in Netduma R3 Support
In that case it could be that your public IP is changing frequently - did the ISP put the ONT in bridge? They may be able to take it out of it so you can then access and then the R3 would get a local IP that can be set as static on the ONT. Otherwise may be worth contacting them to see if they can extend the lease time for your public IP, especially considering you had the same issue on another router. If that can be made longer then the issue should happen less. They may try to sell you a static IP which would if this is the issue fix it but I'd suggest saying if you could extend the lease time so I can verify this is the issue then I would then consider the static IP knowing it would fix the issue permanently. -
Issues with Netduma R2 since April 2025

I've given you access, we've also made a change to the cloud if you could reboot from the interface and see if it happens again please. -
Ping Optimizer is not working and my ping is raised!
Netduma Fraser replied to TheRealQM's topic in Netduma R3 Support
We're aware Ping Optimizer/Speed test isn't 100% reliable at the moment and we're looking into it. In the meantime setting/testing speeds manually and adjusting Congestion Control manually will be needed to achieve the same effects. Your ping is raised where exactly? Where are you testing this ping? A higher ping wouldn't necessarily impact voip too much unless it's quite high. What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode Are ALL devices connected to the R3? What are the speeds you pay for/receive? Have you entered those speeds into the router? How have you setup Congestion Control? How have you setup SmartBOOST? -
Thank you that's really helpful, I've been able to reproduce it so I'll pass it onto the team

Do this: Quit the application/game/client completely Remove device from the Geo-Filter Give PC PlayStation Device Type in the Device Manager Resync from the Geo-Filter Map menu Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter Set up the Geo-Filter how you like Wait 2 minutes Boot up application/game/client Then try again please.

I'll respond to your email shortly

I can't view/download the video, what happens exactly?
-
Are you enabling the Geo-Filter before you boot up the console/game? Are you making changes to the Geo-Filter while you're on the game? This could be them using the relay servers, in which case some mentioned covering Japan made it adhere better to their Geo-Filter settings
-
Okay good - the server IP address you're using is Cambodia which may be the problem, find the IP of a server you want to connect to from the options they've given you (use a website to lookup the IP location) then use that instead and see if it works better

Is Geo-Latency or Ping Assist enabled?
-
Nothing bad there from what I can see - does it actually connect you to the VPN? Does it say connected?
-
Not really - copy and paste would be easier next time - it's also in French which I can't read 😂Just to clarify, are you actually connected to the VPN? It's just the game you can't connect to?

Fragpunk servers in South Africa
Netduma Fraser replied to theblureffect's topic in Netduma R3 Support
They don't have any impact on your NAT status but it does mean it's probably blocking a NAT server, zoom out fully on the map with those options disabled, check the NAT status and look for something blocked and allow it. Repeat this, you may need to do it a few times and then you should have all the servers for NAT allowed and it should work then. Once done if you could give us the IDs for these servers then we can add them to the global whitelist. -
Fragpunk servers in South Africa
Netduma Fraser replied to theblureffect's topic in Netduma R3 Support
You may have Geo-Latency and Ping Assist enabled, disable both of those and try again. Also ensure you've enabled the Geo-Filter prior to launching the game and don't change any Geo-Filter settings on the game without then rebooting the game otherwise they won't apply -
NEW XR500 BETA FIRMWARE: 3.3.535
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Lew's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Ah yes the private address on iOS and other devices can pose a problem there, they will just ignore any reservations unless that is disabled. You would see a double NAT on your console if that was the case, unlikely but a possibility for sure. -
Okay thank you, I think it's a cloud issue which we're looking at currently and will make a change to shortly that should hopefully resolve it

NEW R3 FIRMWARE - DumaOS 4.0.540
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Alex's topic in Netduma R3 Support
It could be the DHCP lease yes - have you set the R3 WAN IP as static on the ONT? If the bridge mode relies on the IP address then this changing would throw that out, setting as static/reserved would then prevent that happening. Steady Ping wouldn't be able to counteract those kinds of spikes unfortunately. It won't be that entry no, there are a lot of DHCP lease messages there, set your devices as static/reserved on the R3 (super easy) and see if it happens again please. You just have to be connected to the R3 either by WiFi or ethernet to access it So you were manually connected via 2.4GHz? Sounds like you didn't have high enough bandwidth on 2.4GHz for the streaming, 5GHz is better for higher speed applications -
Could be a few instances in there that caused it, what time did it happen approximately? Then I can more accurately determine the cause from the logs

Congestion Control and Ping Optimizer not working
Netduma Fraser replied to LilEnri's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Do you still have devices connected to it via ethernet? Is it worse if you play direct from the fritz as well? -
Fragpunk servers in South Africa
Netduma Fraser replied to theblureffect's topic in Netduma R3 Support
We don't get the server list directly from any game developers/companies so it's always purely based on our testing/findings. So at the time this would have been what we found, it's also possible the servers that appeared to be there on the Geo-Filter map were actually mislocated and should be some where else. Heatmap says your ping is roughly 70ms to those servers, is 70ms an accurate ping for you to SA? If on the game you leave the server selection on Auto do you get a game with around 70ms or higher? -
Le Geofilter ne marche pas : Quid de Hybrid VPN ?
Netduma Fraser replied to BiTTrigger's topic in Netduma R3 Support
As in you can't use the Geo-Filter and the VPN for every game? If so do you still see icons on the map that entire time, the game just doesn't let you into a match? -
