UK_Wildcats_Fans Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 My suspicion is that they number are servers are down due to the low player count on AW and re-allocating servers to BO3 for testing and preparation of release in a less than a month.
Taff Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 just won a game after a string of losses, just a "temporary" fix but i increased the MTU, it worked. try it at 1510 or more.
fuzzy clam Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I think the better question would be when hasn't anyone had a laggy game in AW.It's a really unstable game with a ton of variables on weather you have a good gaming experience or not.I wish I could figure them out and I would share them with everyone so we could all enjoy the game. Sometimes you're running the lobby and sometimes you're at the bottom.In my own experience I leave AW alone as it's all over the place.But like someone said above if it's double XP it always runs worse then,just like clan wars. But when I was playing AW and lagging I would tighten up my GF a little and start adjusting my sliders until I noticed a difference in the game play,not a fix all but sometimes it made a big difference.

psygn Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Probably because there are less people playing it since Battlefront is out for everyone to try. AW is dead and done by now. I've been playing a lot of Destiny and now I'm playing Battlefront. BO3 can't come soon enough!

Did any servers get shut down in Europe? I wouldn't worry about the trace its inaccurate, just focus on the ping. When its double xp its always a little worse as Jeff said.

Playing Advanced Warfare will make you think your ping is 10ms vs playing Gears of War. GOW players know what I'm talking about! RAGE QUITTING AT IT'S FINEST!!!!!!
Dillinger Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I am pretty sure Activision has been repurposing the dedicated servers to Black Ops 2 for what I hope is some serious behind the scenes testing on the servers for the new net-coding. Two nights ago I was on a dedi about 25-33% of my games. Last night I had a string of (8) games on the San Fran dedi and they were good. They weren't great, the ping was generally about >30ms, but there were some "WTF was that?!" moments. I would SUSPECT that AW players will begin to see P2P hosts as their leased time on the dedi's dies down. I, for one, and looking forward to playing some AW once they get to P2P so I can see how the game actually runs. I live outside Seattle, so almost all my limited AW games are on the Seattle Blackhole it wasn't worth the anger or frustration. I pray to GOD one of the two platforms is decent for Blops 3. I can't do another 2 years of Black Ops 2 if Blops 3 has the same dedicated issues. And FUCK Ghosts 2! I am not even going to CONSIDER buying the next Infinity Bored offering. They didn't support Ghosts worth a shit, their community manager (Tina) disappeared 1 month into release and everything about that cycle was the very definition of SHIT & SHOW.

bagsta69 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Im getting pretty big ping spikes on every encounter tonight and my ass is trussed up and on a plate in front of me. Even HC . As others have said it is probably due to x2 xp weekend. Since getting the R1 most of my games have been positive with plenty of objectives captured but x2 xp weekends and clan wars it becomes a crap shoot.

Hope BLOPS3 plays well on the Xbox one otherwise I will be calling it day with new Cods , don't understand why GHOSTS and AW are so laggy modern tech always improves but here we are 10 years on being served crap
bagsta69 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Im not holding out much hope for blops 3 tbh FFS we can stick a bunch of men on the moon but after COD4 Modern warfare we cannot get a game that is consistent online for everybody. Shame on the billion dollar gaming industry. Maybe they should go back to making barbie dolls and let somebody else deal with the grown up stuff. Tonight most games were not even a full lobby, 4 vs 4 etc instead of 6 vs 6 player count must be at an all time low.

bagsta69 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Im not looking at COD4 through rose tinted glasses either, I still go back and play it and it is a truly great game. 3 Kill streaks and no overpowered perks. I have has some of my best gaming on that game and laughs too many to remember. HQ on Chinatown and wetworks (I think thats what the ship one was called) 3 frags and a martyrdom grenade. MP5 what fun. For me connections really started to go bad towards the end of MW2. I guess that was as the game was really really popular but on COD4 I never experienced lag like I have on games since. If it wasn't for the R1 I think I would have hung up my fps hat a month or so into AW. AW still has a heap of issues even with the R1 in my locker. OH well one can hope.

ltr7 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Played a few games last night and wow were the servers extra crappy, 200ms+ on a few. Tested my connection as soon as I was done, flat 25ms ping no spikes no jitter, this was on the 360 havn't been on the ps4 in a few days.
