I downloaded the new firmware, installed and did a factory reset.  The password did not hold on initial setup, so I had to do another factory reset.   I finally got it all working.

Minor Bug:  The USA state borders are displayed correctly on the Geo Filter page.  If I pin the geo-filter map to the dashboard, the state borders are not visible.  It is just the continental  outline of the USA.  I have unpinned and re-pinned.  I have clear browser, rebooted and still cannot get them to show up.

Thanks for the info, I'll pass it on to the team to reproduce.

I never got the PureVPN working with the old firmware so had hopes with the new firmware.
It still doesn't work.

Problem : When i put in the PureVPN credentials in the Hybrid Setup tab, the status stays on Connecting.
The "Logs" doesn't show up anything.
When i press the VPN setup the credentials username and password are blank and doesn't remember the input.

I tried 2 different browser: Google Chrome and Firefox, both doesn't work.
I tried different countries in the VPN Setup in the DumaOS with different protocols like UDP and TCP, both doesn't connect.

I made sure i pasted the correct username and password, even tried to type them manually.
When i try purevpn on my desktop computer with the username and password it works correctly.

Please provide a solution as i bought a year subscribtion from PureVPN and don't want to waste the money i spent.

Can I use this with the Netgear Nighthawk XR500 ?

No, this is just for the R2. There is no cross compatible firmware, each router will get its own releases, shouldn't be too much longer for an XR500 update.

This firmware upgrade basically bricked my router. Nothing works anymore. No pages load, constantly says "script error" or something a long those lines when I click on anything. The geo filter has some random text where the home button is effectively disabling any way to use it. I've tried factory resetting and rebooting many times, clearing browser cache, nothing works. Was working perfectly fine until I went to upgrade the firmware. What is going on?? I've attached a picture showing the text at the bottom of the geofilter that blocks the buttons there from being able to do anything.

Hey, welcome to the forum!

It appears the router hasn't been upgraded/didn't take the upgrade. Attempt the upgrade again, then wait 5 minutes and refresh the page if it hasn't already and see if the version in the top right of the screen changes to this version. If it has then do a factory reset from the interface, wait 2 minutes then see if it all appears to be working.

everytime I try to upgrade it says "cgi script took long to form a response"

it is no big deal to me but after updating the firmware and doing a factory reset as you guys suggested, everything is working fine except for ping heatmap. Page comes up says cloud data not downloaded, please FORCE UPDATE. I click on it and it does not do anything beyond that. Just the spinning circle.

I will say this. The router does connect faster to the cable modem than ever before so you guys got that fix right. Still do not think IPv6 is working perfectly right but again not a major concern. Still have not tried turning the WIFI radios on so cannot give my feedback on that yet.

What firmware version are you upgrading from? Could you please try the upgrade from a different browser?

Hi forum,

Prior upgrade to .394 I did a factory reset and once I completed the upgrade I did the factory reset again and the ping heatmap is working fine for me.

These are the bugs/issues that I found:

1-When I disable the "Scheduled tests" at beanchmark I get this error:

2-If I want to shutdown the 2.4ghz or 5ghz wifi, I need to restart the router in order to get the light come off (but I dont need to restart the router to get the WiFi off, it only applies to the light/led".

3- Although the IPv6 is OFF, I'm still receiving these messages:

4- But I appreciate the update <3, so far the R2 has been stable for the last 2 days:

We totally get that it’s been a while since the last firmware and we’ll be posting an update explaining why, as well as why it’s not going to happen again. There's a LOT more to come, including features, over the next few months so keep an eye out...

Did a post get posted?

Just wondering is there an explanation of the different options for traffic prioritization? I remember the earlier firmware versions had no option to select gaming/voice, video, normal or apply to WAN.

Can we get an explanation of what each one does? I used to get a nice connection with the old firmware so just want to recreate it with the new one, not sure which option to select and whether to apply it to WAN. I was trying a combination of them all yesterday and can't seem to get it working how it used to.

I'd like to avoid going back to the old firmware if  can recreate whatever setting was used on those with the new firmware

Hi again!

It's something wrong with down speed on .394 fw. I  can't pass 500 mbps on R2 while my ISP Router does 940 mbps so easy. Using vlan with ppoe and tested without ticked QOS.

How are you testing the speeds? Through connection benchmark or through a third party speedtest like speedtest.net? Can you run both and compare the results?

Use gaming/voice for Wi-Fi and normal for wired. We need to make this clearer, I know! Apply to WAN is entirely optional to be honest, we can't measure how well it works as it just appends a priority flag to your important traffic when it's sent upstream. There's no harm in applying it, it can only make a positive difference.
