One of the Xbox lobby guys on LFG, offering the services, said "I have my own server" when I asked how he was able to run ghost lobbies with the changes. After I asked how he shut it down and said "why would I tell you?" My answer of all of us needing a helping hand at some point wasn't convincing enough.

I'll never trust someone who says he has his own server, I am pretty sure that is not how this works. Sometimes I wish I had gone with IT instead of Software Development haha

There is a guy selling the service on PC.  My friend bought it and described it to me.  The guy is claiming hes doing it based on steamid filtering of some sorts.  This is clearly nonsense though considering the guy still had to cancel the que repeatedly to dodge the wrong teams.  If he had actual steamid filtering that wouldn't of occurred and it would of always been the correct team.  To me it seems its people in areas where virtually no one plays just watching the ques and leaving if their screens don't match up.  If you play in a very remote area or VPN to one i could see this working depending on how steam relay servers function.  Like for instance if someone is playing from america and someone else is playing from russia.  Do the relay servers communicate with each other like:

person->steam relay server in america->steam relay server near russia->person

or

person->steam relay server america->person

If they don't communicate with each other and its just person->relay->person i could see a geofilter + being very remote working to some degree.

You guys will never be able to stop this sort of thing until the game is no longer peer to peer haha.

Someone else has mentioned to us that it's not working correctly now with the Geo-Filter, have you seen this same behaviour? I'll be asking the team to test.

I just realized it has been at least one year since the original request. I hope the team makes an official statement soon seeing how this topic has become one of the hottest in this forum in ages.  At this rate it will dwarf all other topics and questions.

That is very annoying, the old method took around 20 minutes to complete a full card if one team was accruing wins and the other team always reseted a card. So not only if the "new" method slower but it also requires more engagement from the person setting it up ;/

That moment when you realize your company is build upon people wanting to play with themselves (hehe) on D2. I had a lot of people ask me about how it was done and I referred them here, not it seems they better wait and see if it will be feasible.

I saw the video its just him showing VPN turned on and then he moves the camera to two other screens showing they can see each other with the match making.  It sits at 2/6 and doesn't find anyone else.  Judging by the video im not sure hes even able to connect to other people at all aka be able to fill the teams to actually do any win trading or if hes just blocking ports to the point only devices on his network can see each other which isn't exactly useful unless you have 6 consoles/pcs. He doesn't test it enough or provide enough information to show if its viable or not.

only useful if you have 6 consoles... which i have.. xD

send me the link please?

to be fair, i was neveer helped. when i started up several years ago, no one would say anything and there were no helpfull forums like this. the money during those times were ungodlike. legit two people paying 1200 for old school NF and such.. friends would ask but i never told them the answer, i just pointed them in the right direction and got them on the path that i took to findout.

Why couldn't he just pre-populate both teams with 2 more players? Just make the teams in orbit.

I may have someone who can help with this but he has no knowledge of D2, can anyone think of a way to phrase the question so it would make sense? English is not my main language and I don't want to make this more confusing that it is. I was thinking something along the lines of:

We're trying to set a VPN over a router so that only devices, in this case consoles, in the same network can find each other. The game is now using SDR which means that the individuals IPs are concealed and instead traffic is being funneled in Steam servers across the globe.

again, i can do that too. i have a website + vendors. im one of the big guys thats been doing it for years. my setup is 10k +.. no flex im just saying, im not one of the radnoms looking for solo lobbies. i have 250 repeat customers counting on me to find another way. so far only swapping to ps4 or a few settings using vpns + port blocking has worked. but the vpn stuff isnt automatically blocking literally every other connection like i used to have it so i have to manually watch it.

Hit me up. I'm working on doing it on Xbox as well with many people counting on me. I have progress and I'm hoping I am close to being done.

I was thinking the answer might be using PS4/PS5. Cross save means what happens on one happens on all essentially. But, that would limit your customer base to people that had a PlayStation.

Well we all better find a solution soon because PS4/5 is getting an update in one or two weeks.

PS is also getting an update this season, it has been officially confirmed by Bungie

i had to cross save every single order this last weekend to PS. in the meantime ive been testing other ways on xbox to work. I was able to find myself but it wasnt automatically like ive had for years. every 3/4 times i would run into randoms that could bypass my whitelist. so idk. still need to do lots of testing. i have another method to try in bit that ive talked to other boosters about and it seems to have success.  will keep you guys updated if i find anything

funny enough, it requires multiple vpns and other hardware. somewhat sounds like what the other guy in this forum was talking about. but like i said, needs testing.

So how much is your service per character?

completely varies on where the orders come from. anywhere from $8 - $ 50 per card. least ive made a weekend was $1200. the most was $3500. but ive been doing this a long time and was one of the early guys just 4 months after D2 release. i reinvested my money for about a year to get all the crazy shit i have now.

I guess $8 is three wins lol

nope, full card. when you are able to run a full lobby using your own gear, 8 x 6 for 20 mins of work adds up in a hurry.

i never wanted to be that shady booster ram rodding people for cards. i always do very cheap and in bulk. i tried to help all my friends and they brought their friends and so on. vendors on the other hand and the website brought in orders for more desperate people willing to pay lots for faster services and such.

I'm almost positive I have used your services before. Even asked about the cost of you teaching and offering a package deal with everything needed. Pretty sure that was you.
