Alex49H Posted December 6, 2016 Share Posted December 6, 2016 To think that the TI Puma chipset was to be a savior for Arris Modems and it only made it worse. SM961 Posted December 6, 2016 Share Posted December 6, 2016 Last month when I replaced my modem that I got from my cable company Charter I thought I was replacing it with the latest greatest future proof modem boy was I wrong, I was wondering why all of the sudden my Netduma was acting weird whenever I would do a ping test would get spikes that I even called the cable company and complained that there was something wrong with my line, what they don't know is the they giving customers a bad modem. Now that I have my old modem everything is the way is supposed to be. Thanks Zennon for the heads up. If it's not broken don't fix it. They called their rental SB6141 as End of Life. But the retail version is still fine. End of Life just means that it's old, but it still works. I get full speeds through it without a problem. I just got a new modem installed yesterday (ARRIS TG1682G) and it has been giving me outrageous spikes and latency/jitter. My old modem was a Technicolor tc8305c and didn't give me any spikes whatsoever. I only upgraded because it was a free upgrade on Comcast. Their tech guy is coming here tomorrow to work on my line because he saw an issue that could be causing the latency I'm getting. However, if I notice the problem continues to happen after he's done working on it, it's going to be pretty obvious that it's the modem which is causing it. If that's the case, I'd like to check out this TP-Link modem you're talking about. Do you know if this TP-Link is compatible with all Comcast customers who have 240/12 speeds?
