Od1n
its been pretty silent since the last firmware update in febuary also Iain seems to no longer share infos on breakthroughs. future ideas or the general stuff to come up next on twitter anymore to make it short, its been the longest information break we had since the launch of the R1 so heres my question, what can we expect in the next few month? (my feeling tells me you guys are working on a new router hence the new employees for interfaces and such)

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 1, 2016 Administrators Share Posted June 1, 2016 We're working on the next upgrade - 2.0. It is huge and game changing hence our silence on the matter. Can't say what it will include

RedBull2k
Lets all start guessing what features and enhancements there will be and maybe we will hit the nail in the coffin or just give them more ideas to further enhance a fine product. I will go first, transforming the Netduma into a time machine so it can go 2 seconds in the future to allow you to have the advantage every time. UK_Wildcats_Fans
Based upon Iain's tweet, I assume that the new upgrade will include a new algorithm. See the below. https://twitter.com/Netduma_Iain/status/733724662786588672

Quiet is better. At least people won't demand for an update like it is their right like the previous update prior to its release. Hahaha
TEH BUTCHER
What would a new algorithm do? Process date more efficiently? Also do we have any idea how much latency the Duma itself is currently adding?
Dillinger
Guys one thing we know is that Iain and the boys don't dream in small steps. They dream in big leaps and bounds. When a guy like Iain says he in on to something and it will be revolutionary, this is HIGHLY PROBABLY it is not a boast. The enthusiasm and the self imposed time away to work specifically on the new features, means he is well vested. Well, I suppose a cyclic condition of late night drinking and VIP room treatment COULD be the reason, but I would suspect far more Tweets if that were the case. NetDuma had finally taken a hard line on "when it is ready in our eyes, it will be viewed by yours". This is a very important step for a small company, because now they are at a pace to sustain what they have, and focus on utmost quality going forward. This is good for all of us. We will all benefit. But just like Rome not being built in a day - sometimes Patience is needed to achieve something really cool. It hasn't been "that" long in terms of days worked. The last tweet I saw read something like "16 hour days and still so excited I can't sleep". Like I told Iain when he first started this self imposed exile, "No ground worth taking was ever done quickly or without sacrifice". It's been that way since the dawn of man, and I highly doubt much has really changed since it was first hypothesized. I'm glad he is keeping radio silence and ignoring the noise. It will make the reveal that much more powerful.
PharmDawgg
I gotta feeling with the new update the congestion control feature is going to become obsolete. And the router is going to automatically adjust your bandwidth so that the bufferbloat is next to nil. Anything that auto adjusts and I don't have to manually move those sliders will be botchin. Not to mention antijitter which any cable internet subscriber should just love.
Ramakant
Auto adjust feature for slider will be awesome, I wish VPN becomes more powerful in speed and feature.

Od1n
would be nice though to at least know when we can roughtly expect any news on this (not the release just news) say summer/autumn/winter 2016 or something like that
Urge
would be nice though to at least know when we can roughtly expect any news on this (not the release just news) say summer/autumn/winter 2016 or something like that That prob won't happen. I wouldn't expect to hear any news until things were done. Any time in the past people acted like kids wanting it now, now, now. And throwing a fit if an estimated date wasn't hit - whether it was an actual improvement or just info. All we need to know is something good is on the way. The rest will all fall in to place. Yea I think setting priorities would be best by devic SO you could do Xbox - 1 Smart TV - 2 Laptop - 3 Phone - 4 Rest - Equal and it would automatically make sure each device had what it needs while splitting the remainder basically a dynamic congestion control based around device priority. Just as a hypothetical
Administrators Netduma Luke Posted June 3, 2016 Administrators Share Posted June 3, 2016 As Fraser said, we're going 'radio silent' on this next upgrade because it's so big. We'd love to be able to give timelines etc but the honest answer is we don't know how long it will take until it's done. Iain is being especially quiet because development needs momentum so he is avoiding as many distractions as possible. What I will say is that V2 is going to be HUGE. And you're all going to love it. Im always getting melted around cnrs, people popping out of no where etc, its really pissing me off actually. And just to make sure its not a cod sbmm thing i made a new account, and although the first few levels was ok, after level 5 its back to its bs. ColonicBoom
Who Google's Google on Google? That's just begging to rip a hole in the space-time continuum. If you're not from the UK, there was a tv show called the IT Crowd a few years back about two techies in the dark dungeon computer room in the basement of an office block - they give their non-techie boss that Google info and cause mass panic and hysteria. I recommend you check the show out, it's the b*llocks. Written by the same man that wrote 'Father Ted', which is also brilliant.
