ANNOUNCEMENT: DUMAOS 3.0 IS HERE
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Luke's topic in News & Announcements
No news yet, we're still working on it. I couldn't say at the moment, we are beginning shipments of the pre-orders and we have quite a lot to get through to get up to date. It depends how many the team are able to get out each day but if you were to purchase now I don't think it would ship for at least a week. -
I was more referring to your comment on having slow speeds meaning you would be punished. Even people with gig connections can have 'bad' connections for gaming - my point really was that the speed you have is not really an indicator of whether or not you'll receive lag compensation. You could have person A with 1Mbps/1Mbps but with 10ms ping to the game server and person B with 1000Mbps/1000Mbps but with 50ms ping to the game server. If a server is the host then person A will have the better ping/experience.
-
I'm not sure how much I believe in lag compensation personally but for arguments sake if it is as prevalent as people think then yes that's possible and forcing a server slightly further away in Europe could swing it more in your favor. Some people for example prefer playing on servers at 40ms. The reason I don't subscribe to the theory much is because gaming barely uses any bandwidth at all and even if you have slow speeds you would have enough for gaming - people used to play absolutely fine on dial-up for example and that was awful!

Selecting Use Upstream DNS will make the router/devices use whatever the DNS is that is set by your ISP.

It really depends on how many we are able to ship in one day. I would estimate late in the week or even early the week after. -

XR1000 NAT and UPnP Not working
Netduma Fraser replied to KennyUbstrd1's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
What is your exact physical setup - is the modem a pure modem (no wifi) or a modem/router (wifi)? If the latter, how have you set this up to ensure an Open NAT? I've also sent you a PM. -
That's great to hear, thank you for posting the solution!

Hey, welcome to the forum! How can we help exactly? -
¡Hola bienvenido al foro! Esa es una versión beta pero no es la última. Te he dado acceso al foro beta donde puedes encontrar la última versión. https://forum.netduma.com/forum/130-dumaos-30-beta-netduma-r1/

No I don't believe so as it refers to IPv6 which you're not using.
-
I've asked Alex to post an update when he is able to.
-
They won't go through the VPN because they're not directly connected to it but they'll use it as the DNS. Alternatively you could try applying it manually on each device.
-
Set the VPN IP as the DNS in the router WAN Settings then apply, reboot the router and see if the devices get the correct IP then.
-
How have you added the device to the VPN exactly? Can you provide a screenshot please?
-
I'll ask a colleague to see if they can test it (if we have the game) to see whether it is working correctly.
-
I don't see the problem, when you are playing you have an icon in your radius - this peer icon is actually a server. You can then ping that server by doing so manually or enabling auto ping and it will work.
