  1. It will be blocking a server, look for a blocked icon on the map when you try the NAT test then add it to your allow list, you may need to do this a couple of times, then it'll work with the filter enabled. If you could provide the ID as well we can whitelist it.
  2. The same settings on one version won't work for every version, you may need to fine tune it. Bufferbloat only occurs when your connection is saturated, with Congestion Control enabled that can't happen so focusing on that result isn't needed. You need to select the Expert mode for Ping Optimizer to test upload. How do you have the Geo-Filter setup to get those closer servers? You can prioritize the device, you don't have to just use a service.
  3. Not necessarily but do you experience the issue in other web browsers?
  4. The Geo-Filter allows you to force the closest server, in that analogy, the Geo-Filter may find you a supermarket just 10 minutes away but you add that toll booth in with the VPN it's still going to add time to your journey.
  5. No worries, keep us posted!
  6. So you're not using a torrent client you're doing it through the web browser? That might be why if so, in some cases not with this router specifically I have had big downloads over the web browser fail.
  7. Correct! No it doesn't bridge the game and give you 0 lag, in 95% of cases you will always have additional latency, the closer the server the less additional ping and the further away the higher. I'm not sure if this analogy works in the US but: Imagine this, you set off from home to go to the supermarket, the time it takes you to get there is 20 minutes and it's 10km away. The distance never changes but there is some fluctuation in the time it takes due to traffic etc but it's 20mins on average. Now imagine someone put a toll booth on your route, the distance to the supermarket hasn't changed but now on your way there you have to queue up at the toll and pay the fee, on the way back you have to do the same. Doing this adds 5 minutes to your overall journey. If you had the option, would you prefer to keep the toll booths and add 5 minutes to your journey every time or would you rather they were removed? A simplistic analogy of what is happening but hopefully it explains it a bit better for you.
  8. You would have a higher ping in that scenario, it might not be much as it's in your area but you're adding an extra hop to the server. VPNs are generally used for privacy reasons and getting around geo restrictions e.g. watching UK Netflix. I wouldn't specifically suggest using it for gaming except in unique cases which I don't think would be applicable to you.
  9. So in your download client, look for the uTP option in Settings or search for the manual of settings for the program you're using to find uTP
  10. You won't see a different IP address because you're only applying the VPN to YouTube so the rest of your device/anything else will be using your normal connection
  11. Sorry to hear you're having a problem - your explanation doesn't have many details which makes it hard for me to understand the issue, if I can't understand the issue I can't effectively provide suitable troubleshooting steps. Please provide more information about your issue and we can go from there. For example, where are you checking the ping, what about the Geo-Filter isn't working etc? If you're having issues all you need to do is make a topic for your issue and we can help.
  12. Just to double check you're on the .290 firmware is that right? Could you provide the logs from Settings > Troubleshooting when it next happens please?
  13. I've responded to you there
  14. No I mean you have to make a rule to add your device to the VPN - it's the right side of the VPN page, how have you done that? It doesn't apply the VPN to the router as a whole, you need to make a rule for a device to apply it to that device.
  15. It's likely that you may need to use PPPoE - you'll need to get those details from BT if applicable, then you can enter them in and get internet
  16. We don't send it to you, we give you access to the section which has it: https://forum.netduma.com/forum/144-netduma-r2-early-access/
  17. I just replied to your email but you need to access the interface and complete the setup wizard before you can get internet
  18. That should be the opposite, did you factory reset after the firmware update?
  19. There are only two ways, using the option on the router to download it and install or the manual option by downloading the file from the first post and then uploading it to the router in the router settings. If you don't have the green icon bottom left of the interface then you'll need to do the manual option.
  20. It should work fine and yes it would mean the router is responsible for everything
  21. What do you see when trying to access? No not specifically, it assigns bandwidth on an as needed basis, you can adjust your priorities though so what you care about is taken care of first
  22. Please both of you try this firmware specifically to see if it resolves the issue: https://forum.netduma.com/topic/56332-r3-disconnections/?do=findComment&comment=424833
  23. That's great to hear, thanks for the update!
  24. I can't answer that without troubleshooting, if you disable the Geo-Filter do you get the same behavior?
