  1. I’ve just tested QoS and both up and down works fine for me. Zen gives me 300+ upload, 400+ download, I dragged the sliders down to 100mb on both and ookla test gave me the correct result. Tested again down to 20mb on both and that too was correctly applied. Must a conflict elsewhere that is causing a problem because it’s all good for me so far. To clarify: I’m not using passthrough or piggybacking with DHCP disabled, I’ve completely removed the router Zen provided (Fritzbox 7350), and I’m only using the XR700 (up to date firmware downloaded via the admin interface) straight from the ONT. Aside from struggling to find the right place to enter the VLAN ID, it all seems to be working. Full speeds with QoS disabled and exactly the right result reported through speed tests with it enabled.
  2. Found it. it’s vlan / bridge by vlan tag group edit > vlan id
  3. Moved over to Zen fibre, first time I’ve ever had to use PPPoE settings. It’s obvious where the login and password go but where do you have to enter the vlan tag and what other settings do you need to change? I’ve tried all sorts of combinations and can’t get an internet connection at all. cheers
  4. They have a massive advantage. I still see M&K players in some core lobbies even though I have it disabled. 🤣💩
  5. You can run with anything really, you just need to get to the first two flags at the start of each match and you'll have that done in no time. Most I get in a match, playing with a team of good OBJ players, is about 8 caps. The other thing you can do, to get an extra couple of flags each match, is go for the furthest enemy flag (with a friend to cap it faster). Once the match is really underway, people are mostly in the middle, you can take the far enemy flag quite easily a lot of the time. Cold Blooded will help because the VTOL won't see you. I think it hides your name from snipers too but I'm not certain. The perk that lets you run further will probably help too. My two favoured setups in ground war are: M4: Monolithic suppressor (or FFS 12.4 Predator barrel), 50 round mag, Singuard Stock (or Forge TAC CQS), Merc or Commando grip (or Stippled Grip Tape), Sleight of hand. If I want to use a sight then I drop sleight of hand. Any launcher. Cold Blooded / Ghost /Shrapnel Claymore (or Thermite if I want to take out tanks) Stim / Smoke MP5: Subsonic Integral Suppressor, 45 round mag, FFS CQC Stock (or FTAC Collapsible), Sleight of hand, Stippled Grip Tape. Everything else same as above.
  6. I think this is down to two things: 1. There's more noise in public matches, lots of gunfire, explosions, killstreaks, which all mask people's footsteps. 2. The bots aren't trying to be quiet, they'll run everywhere and they won't shoot at things randomly meaning that there'll be less background noise, allowing you to hear their noisy footsteps more even easier. My MixAmp Pro TR has these four: Astro (main default preset) Flat (other default preset) Zalia OmniVox Zalia Tournament I just tweak them a little bit, I turned down the highest pitch sounds (right side sliders) because they were too crashy with my headphones (not Astros). I turned down the bass a notch too, I left the middle ones alone. I don't like the feeling of getting my arse kicked either, especially by the players that sit still all game staring down their sights. I'm bored and fed up with the game already. It has great potential but I don't like the direction the developers are going with it. It only rewards you if you go for cheap dirty kills.
  7. Which challenge you going for? I play a lot of ground war so I have a few classes set up for capping flags, going for streaks and general dirtiness. Also, which guns have you got ranked up? Not much point in me suggesting a setup for a gun you've got no attachments for. If it helps, I've ranked up these: M4, Kilo, Famas (FR556), MP5, MP7, Bizon, HDR. And to a lesser extent, the SA80, P90, AUG, Kar98. If you just want to know the other stuff, I usually run... Cold Blooded + Ghost + Shrapnel. 2x Thermite for trashing tanks + Stim. Tac Insert + Trophy.
  8. I'd recommend trying Zalia's OmniVox. If you find it too crashy or bassy, you can adjust the sliders in the Astro control centre. It will depend on your headphones though. I found it too crashy/tinny so I brought the two right sliders down a bit. And I left it 'flat' in the game audio settings. I don't think any preset is going to help you hear footsteps when the killstreaks rain down though, they're deafeningly loud. I always leave Dolby enabled on the mixamp too, regardless of which headphones I use, it sounds way better to me and positional audio seems much clearer / easier to interpret. I've been setting the mixamp to flat and then using high boost (think it's called that) in the game's audio settings. Sound seems pretty balanced like that with my headphones. Saved me a ton of faffing about too.
  9. I'm a bit late to the party but wasn't it SeanEDawgs that got caught doing some dirty tricks with his connection to try to cheat?
  10. I can only see cloud-based gaming as a shitty gimmick for shitty games at the moment. With a lot of shitty lag.
  11. Yeah, I meant another controller. PUBG had a bug a while back which would randomly pop up the 'controller disconnected' message (as if the battery had run out), this sounds a bit like that. Are you talking about a blue menu box popping up (even if it's an empty box) or this a total blue screen? If it's a pop up box then it's more likely a controller / PS4 issue. But if it's a full blue screen then I'd say it's more likely what @Zennon said - some kind of communication fault, a signal dropout, power dip or interference. Also, does your tv/monitor show this same blue colour when it has no signal input or this the same as the PS4 menu blue?
  12. The clunky slowness is definitely normal in my experience but the blue screen appears when you're actually in a game running around? That's different, I don't think that's normal - there's no Xbox equivalent anyway. Could it be that your pad is triggering that to come up? Have you got another pad that you can play with for a bit to see if it still happens? Unless this is when people join your chat party, on Xbox this causes a massive lag spikes every time sometimes joins your party. It seems to be a BO4 problem that the developers are aware of but are struggling to fix.
  13. Yes. Yes. Yes. I forgot about that, a laggy enemy makes you lag like in BO3. And I also forgot the ridiculously strong auto-rotation aim-assist, that's some rotten shit. If you played it more, I guarantee it'll start to bother you. I'm finding that more than half my deaths are from specialist weapons or equipment and are virtually unavoidable unless you run a complete 'Anti-Specialist' class (which is no fun at all anyway). And it's not like BO3 where you had to be stomping the enemy just to earn the specialist weapon twice in a match. In BO4 you can get the weapon a few times easily and the equipment is really quick to earn so you probably get that 6+ times in a match. On top of that you can use the thing that lets you earn them even quicker, I reckon you can probably get the specialist weapon 5+ times in a match and the equipment about 10 times with that. Imagine if all 6 enemies were using that. 30+ specialist noob-streaks in a match of TDM and about 50 specialist equipment streaks. When in BO3, a team might get 10 total in a match. That's horrible. Totally agree with you both on the suppressors. A longer TTK, many flank routes, rapid movement, some terrible spawns, combined with a lack of suppressors does not add up to something nice.
